  • When I was considering buying a french range, a Lacanche range was my number one pick. But, there are no showrooms near me. I noticed a lack of information online regarding reviews. So, I decided to make a video for those of you who are looking into buying a Lacanche range. This is the Sully model in color Vert Silice. I hope this helps!

Thanks, really thoughtful of you to do, and helpful for me, as thinking about changing over from an ancient Aga!

Thank you for the video. which size burners do you use the summer plate over? Do you use the 11,000 or 15,000 btu burners more often.

This was really helpful! Our Sully was recently installed and we are getting ready to use soon! Can I ask when do you use the convection oven?

Hi Kate! I am glad that you found it helpful. I typically use convection at the end of baking something. I use it kind of like a little boost. It tends to brown whatever you are cooking. So, I will flip the switch to convection for about 5 minutes if I am baking something that I want to be a little browned on top. I hope that helps!

Is the simmer plate a good substitute for the french top? And does the plate also fit on top of the 18k burner? Thanks for the video.

Would you have been okay with only the 15k BTU burner. Or do you think the 18k burner is essential?

Hello! I think it depends on your cooking needs. I like the 18K burner for large pots of liquid. It brings a very large pot of water to a boil quickly, whereas the 15K burner takes a little longer. It is also a very high heat for using a wok. So, I would say if you do those things frequently, it is worth it. But, if you don't, then the 15K burners work great for most cooking scenarios. I hope that helps!

The bottom drawer is for keeping food warm or plates hot.

It’s actually only a storage drawer, there isn’t a warming component in that drawer. No option for it either. In other models they have warming cupboards/cabinets as an option, but no small warming drawers, they are taller and skinner than the oven itself.
