WoodSongs 647: The Little Willies
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 окт 2012
- THE LITTLE WILLIES are group of friends and like-minded souls-Norah Jones, Richard Julian, Lee Alexander , Jim Campilongo and Dan Rieser that have gathered to make music for fun, playing their favorite country tunes and conjuring that down-home spirit. With their release of their second album, 'For the Good Times,' The Little Willies take on songs by such masters as Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. The results demonstrate the joy they take, and commitment they make, to a project that was first born for purely practical reasons. The Little Willies will be the sole artist on this Special Event Broadcast of WoodSongs.

Oh Wow Norah Jones !!
● How good to discover your creative journey with "Little Willies" to where you are today May 2024 !!
● Truly amazing !! 🌹❤
Thanks for posting this! I saw the Little Willies in 2019 I think at Bar Lunatico in Brooklyn. I got to see both the 7:00, and 10:30 shows, and they played every song from both of their albums, plus a new original. Some of the songs from that night are here on RUclips! One of my top five concerts of all time!
Man, the band just bursts into flames at 48:48 . The smile on Norah’s face says it all. So good!
Jim C. Has a unique voice on the guitar! He can straight country comp yes..but he can't hide his distinct style for long! It's great!
Norah Jones..what a beautiful talented angel.
Is there a more talented or beautiful musician than Nora Jones? Love her music, esp. with this group.
There is not
Man, I did not hear something better than this for yeaars! They put me in some different world than this one, the world that words can not explain... So many emotions, its a rollercoaster ! Love them so much! Thanks!
Thank you guys from Woodsongs that you give us the chance in Germany too to enjoy the great shows like this one on your stage by posting it here!
These are my kind of players. So much talent with low-key egos. They're just musicologists with the right pedigree and intentions. That saiid it's a crime they didn't put out a proper concert DVD/BD (to my knowledge which I hope is incorrect). I viewed their set at Stagecoach on AXIS and thought it was exceptional. I'm so happy to find this live professionally filmed set. It's excellent and has non-intrusive to the music performance interview segments that adds some nice insights. I really wish this band would tour more and put out more albums. BTW, the contributions by Norah may just put this a hair ahead of the always excellent Lyle Lovett's Large Band? This is meant as a supreme compliment to both, but Jolene was the clincher. Norah owned it.
Man that girl got so much soul when she sings !! I just love her tone at 15:29

Country music without fiddle, banjo and steel guitar.
It sounds so nice and fresh, and I really like their style.
Totally awesome! Thanks!
My late father was a Norah fan. Gave this a look since I'm a Tele guy. Jim is amazing as always. Norah. Wow. Didn't realize she was so easy on the eyes. That voice. Can't go wrong with beauty and talent. Gorgeous eyes.

I love the way Nora replied tho host when he kinda tried to imply that country was more American than jazz. And that’s the beauty of it, diversity!

rehearsal... rehoysal??? As a non-native speaker, I don't get this joke. Can somebody explain it to me, please?
It's just a caricature of a New York accent.
@@MichaelRiceNYC Thank you for the explanation! A New York accent. NY City I assume?
@@larsw8776 Yes. It is an accent also associated with old-time Hollywood film gangsters, which is probably what they were enjoying about it. (Oh, and Bugs Bunny, too. LOL.)
@@MichaelRiceNYC So it's New York and kind of old-timey? I see. It's really cool to get an answer to this question two years after posting it. The patience finally paid off!
The host is insufferable. Amazing output from the band!
THINK YOUR SCARED?
