I bought this record in London in 1978. By far one of the best bands I've ever listen to.
What I love most about this masterpiece is that you never know where it will go next! It's phenomenal, like nothing else.
may be the best tune I have ever heard in my life
What a monster guitarist Phlip Catherine is! Van Leer`s harmonies are so intelligent.
What an atmosphere! Nice work of the bassist Bert. The amazing Thijs van Leer on the Fender Rhodes with lots of effect to it. Philip Catherine`s guitar work simply causes me goosebumps.
One of my all time favorite instrumentals - true progressive rock - I walk around singing the closing section a lot -Very jazzy!
In some ways I find this track to be the ultimate in prog/fusion type music.
Thank you for posting this most wonderful song.
Best track on the Album by far. Beautiful guitar by Philip Catherine. Great composing by Thijs van Leer.
@@markchristman1076 You're right
The keys are so funky. The bass too. Love it.
FM radio classic with tons of groove hooks !
Amazing track! Thank you Philip (too).
Epic prog. First-rate stuff this is.
Thanks for sharing this masterpiece , JagPanzer68 ! Bought the LP in '78 , and put it most of it on cassette tape , for the car , and proceeded to wear it out ! Lol What a great lineup of musicians .
Nice and ineteresting rythm and harmony with Some Gentle Giant overtones here and there!
4:09 is a true eargasm!
Yep! Tingles
Hard to single out one peak moment only, but at around 06:05 thru 07:00 things got increasingly deeper.
Fantastic!!!
A very young Steve Smith playing here! Nice to know!
Steve's an incredible force , behind the kit . He proves it over and over . Love his drumming , on Jean Luc Ponty's "Enigmatic Ocean " , especially on "The Struggle Of The Turtle To The Sea ."
good
❤
This record is heavily influenced by Jazz Rock, it's different but good still.
Curiosity: Bert Ruiter, the bassist, went to play with Earth Wind and Fire after Focus disbanded.
I think this song was written for Jan akkerman.... original title was, " for jan"
Really ? Interesting ! Where did you get that trinket ? Well , Phillip was an incredible replacement , for sure , and certainly plays his heart out .
By far the best song on the album, probably because that awful singer does not participate.
@Marcelo B, P J Proby no era mal cantante, solo que lo aquejaba muchos sus problemas con el alcoholismo y eso le causo muchos problemas con Thijs Van Leer y el resto del grupo.
God this was dull compared to their earlier stuff
