  • 👍 Watch how to set up Windows Firewall to restrict Internet access for certain applications (that is, how to block their inbound and outbound Internet traffic).
    Why would you need it?
Blocking inbound traffic allows disabling unwanted software updates, annoying advertising or saving traffic.
Blocking outbound traffic can prevent leaks of confidential information. Blocking is also good if you want to secure your child from watching unwanted content or spending too much time playing online games.
We will have a look at how firewall works in Windows 10, but this advice will also work in Windows 8 or 7.

please help me sir. I created an outbound rule for a website to prevent any automatic downloads and deleted this rule later. Now I believe the rule is gone from my firewall but still active because I cannot access the website. I do not know what to do to fix my access and I need help asap.

Is there a way to enable/disable the rule without opening Firewall every time? Like mapping the funcion to a key press or something similar?

But I couldn't find the file for Microsoft edge in the list of programs. Anyone willing to help?

    • @HetmanRecovery
      @HetmanRecovery  9 месяцев назад +1

If you can't find the Microsoft Edge program in your list of installed programs on your computer, it's possible that it may not have been installed or it could be hidden in a different location. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot and locate Microsoft Edge:
      Search for Microsoft Edge:
Use the Windows search feature by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard and then typing "Microsoft Edge." If it's installed, it should appear in the search results. Click on it to open the browser.
      Check the Start Menu:
Look in the Start Menu for Microsoft Edge. It may be pinned to the Start Menu or listed in the "All Apps" section.
      Check the Desktop:
Sometimes, shortcuts for Microsoft Edge can be placed on the desktop. Look for the Edge icon on your desktop.
      Use Command Prompt:
You can also try to open Microsoft Edge using Command Prompt. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog, type "cmd," and press Enter. Then, type "msedge" and press Enter. This should launch Microsoft Edge if it's installed.
      Reinstall Microsoft Edge:
If you still can't find it, it's possible that it was uninstalled or disabled. In this case, you can download and reinstall Microsoft Edge from the official Microsoft Edge website.
      Check Windows Settings:
Open Windows Settings by pressing Win + I, then go to "Apps" or "Apps & features." Search for Microsoft Edge in the list of installed apps. If it's there, you can click on it and select "Modify" or "Repair" to ensure it's properly configured.
      Check Control Panel:
You can also try checking the Control Panel for installed programs. Open Control Panel, go to "Programs," and then click on "Programs and Features." Look for Microsoft Edge in the list of installed programs.
      Update Windows:
Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date, as sometimes, Microsoft Edge updates are bundled with Windows updates.
If you've tried all of these steps and still can't locate or open Microsoft Edge, it may be helpful to provide more specific information about your operating system and the issue you're facing so that further assistance can be provided.

How to allow particular website in a windows firewall

    • @HetmanRecovery
      @HetmanRecovery  5 месяцев назад

To allow a particular website through the Windows Firewall, you typically need to create an inbound or outbound rule depending on whether you want to allow incoming or outgoing connections to that website. Here's how you can do it:
      Open Windows Defender Firewall:
Press the Windows key, type "Windows Defender Firewall," and then press Enter.
Create a New Outbound Rule (if you want to allow outgoing connections to the website):
Click on "Advanced settings" on the left-hand side.
In the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window, right-click on "Outbound Rules" and select "New Rule..."
      Select "Program" and click Next.
Choose "This program path:" and enter the path to the browser executable if you want to allow a specific browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) or select "All programs" and click Next.
Select "Allow the connection" and click Next.
Choose when the rule applies (Domain, Private, Public), typically select all three, and click Next.
Enter the website's URL (e.g., www.example.com) in the "Which remote IP addresses does this rule apply to?" field and click Next.
Give your rule a name and description, then click Finish.
Create a New Inbound Rule (if you want to allow incoming connections from the website):
Follow the same steps as above, but instead right-click on "Inbound Rules" in the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window.
When specifying the website's URL, ensure you're allowing connections on the ports the website uses (e.g., typically port 80 for HTTP, port 443 for HTTPS).
      Verify the Rule:
After creating the rule, you can verify it by checking the list of rules in Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.
By creating either an inbound or outbound rule, you specify that connections to or from the particular website are allowed through the Windows Firewall. Make sure to double-check the rule's settings to ensure it aligns with your security requirements.
