Hey man i did this to a lot of .exe .dll files but now my pc takes a long time to start, is it related u think? Having si many rules makes the pc slow?
@@charbel5992 It depends which files you did it to. If you did it to Windows services and stuff that now can't communicate with the internet, they might hang up for an extended amount of time while trying to establish a connection. If you're on Windows 10, there's a very easy "restore firewall to default" function that will flush all those rules and go back to how it was before. You can try this to see if things return to normal speed-wise.
You explained it so perfectly, i gotta give you props for that. Makes it so much easier to understand for people that don't do a whole lot on the command line.
RUclips needs a triple like button. This was such a good video. Not only is your solution PERFECT but you explain it very well for those who can't read code or know all of the parameters.
I really don´t want to lessen how fucking good this is. But Please, people of the internet, please stop telling everyone about everything cool. You don´t know those "viral" persons, maybe they are aholes maybe they are not. What will definitely happen is that things that it will be more complicated for the enlightened. So tell your friends, be nice to the creator, but don´t spread it too much. Everyone who needs this, will find it. As I just did by googling.
Wow. Thank you so much. You're the king. Reinstalling windows and i still can't believe how big of a list i have to go through to make windows usable. Delete confirmation, file extensions, o&o disabling bloat, one drive etc. It's amazing how Microsoft struggles to be normal.
Ha wow, thanks. RUclips auto play took me right to the exact “niche” solution I needed while I wasn’t even paying attention. After doing about 30 by hand, I was looking into whether or not I needed both inbound and outbound rules for my situation, because I was not keen on doing all that again! And then this video just starts playing, and it’s something I’ve been wondering how to do for years! Again, thanks, great tutorial

@BestPodcasted What i did was just make a whole new folder for everything related to Adobe. & cut and place everything in that folder instead. & then follow the video.

Thank you very much , It's 100% legit and working. It blocks my Adobe Illustrator internet access and the adobe popup is gone. Hope more interesting tips in ur channel.
Thanks so much for creating this easy to follow video... I was a little confused at specifying target .exe directory but then figured if the batch file is within that directory that's what the '%' points to...

This works for every other file extension if I change .exe to another extension like .dll, right? Or I can set it to *.* to make it block all the available files?
@TroubleChute i did this to plenty of files, but now my laptop is taking longer time on startup, is it possible having a lot of inbound outbound rules can cause this?
I tried it on windows 10 and it was a bit different for me. It didn't work when I kept both lines (inbound and outbound block) in the same batch file. What worked for me was I created two seperate batch files that kept the exact same statement in the video description except one of them wrote dir=in instead of dir=out. I ran them seperately as admin and it worked. If anyone is having a similar problem, feel free to try this.
Hi, wondering if there's a way to have it ignore exe's already previously applied to the firewall? E.g. I just added the 10th sub folder, ran bat, the first sub folder exe, added weeks ago, is now listed in firewall 10 times. Prob doesn't matter, just an ocd thing. Be nice if we could just block the folder, single entry blocking all within.
Yesssss, there is an extension that keep installing files on my computer, no matter how many times I delete them. Now I can block those files from my computer. Those are not only .exe but .js, .json, and .png but I guess I just need to change the file extension in the commands
I'm runnin' some tests, the block action works flawlesly, but not the allow one, surely is my mistake but i can't find the error. Must i flush dns....? Other question, please; i've placed the path of a folder after cd/ d, obviously works fine, but i wonder how to write multiple paths in order to block eberything i need without navigate through the whole machine or drives in my network. Any ideas?, thx a lot.
If i create a folder and create shortcuts to many EXEs from many other folders across my computer and place them in that folder, will that block the initial program?
Thank you for this amazing video. I'm left with one doubt tho, how to disable blocking for all these .exes at once? what do I need to change in the code for that?
This was so much easier than adding 50 exe's by hand. Thank you!

Just incase if anyone wanna block just the .dll - add .dll next to *.exe for example (*.exe, .dll) or just (*.dll). Thanks for the tutorial mate
I think this comment should be pinned. I added .xml to the command as well. Some programs are sneaky.
so
in (*.exe, *.dll)
or
in (*.exe, .dll)
?
thanks
this takes up alot lines in firewall.. wish you can group it.
@@daber2000 i did it like this:
(*.exe, .dll)
only one asterisk (*) in the front

Don't forget to edit batch file for .DLLs as well, because these are also executable files and may be invoked indirectly to connect to the Internet.
