      It’s extremely difficult for young families. My wife had to stay at home and I work 3 different jobs. I made good money but I was never home. The worst was when I filled for taxes and CRA says I owe them 12k my first question was my 3 kids don’t qualify for any social programs because of my income how do I owe you guys. You tax me on everything. Even the piano lessons the boys attend I pay for . Then interest rate started to rise my income started to shrink due to the cost I had to put towards mortgage. This put a lot of Stress on my marriage. I did everything right. I worked hard some occasions sleeping in my car but it was not enough my wife asked for separation due to her thinking I don’t want to work too support them anymore. But the reverse is the case. I just felt defeated how do I sacrifice so much but every year CRA comes after me. So I quit the other 2 jobs. The past couple years the liberals have passed some laws to devalue the ideas of family. I just feel the nuclear family, and marriage is under attack.

    Canada used to be a great place to live. The healthcare system was very efficient because you didn’t have to wait for months to see a doctor or have an operation. The education system was excellent. Today, although the Government collects a tremendous amount of income taxes yet many issues have not been addressed. Crime is horrendous in the big cities, transportation is over crowded, the so called free health care is collapsing because they have not increased the number of medical students in Canadian universities, buying a house is out of reach for the hard working Canadians because the government allowed foreign money launderers and other speculators to push house prices in uncharted territory.

    I have left and returned to Toronto, Canada twice now, each time starting over, once at 25 years of age and once at 47. I will be leaving Toronto in a few years but not Canada. Both my daughters have decided to leave Canada when they can, one will be moving back to Germany and the other wants to move to New Zealand. Canada is paradise if you come from a third world country but unless you are very financially successful or born into wealth, Canada has become impossible to live in if you were born and raised here, especially if you start over again. I came back for family reasons but would have not returned if I didn't have to.

    I want to know more about what was last straw that pushed your family to consider starting over in another country. I guess I have woken-up a bit. Over half of the people I knew in high school do not live in the same city anymore. Most people have gone to other provinces with more opportunities. My brother himself left twice since there were no opportunities here. I never thought about leaving as I thought as long as I had a decent job that pays alright, I can survive here. But I never got paid decently and even lost my job during the pandemic. I switched careers only to be competing with more people. And the government just announced they were accelerating immigration and given priority to people with degrees and given them priority to get jobs. Why does the government keep doing this? Anyway, thank you for sharing. I hope your journey continues to be positive and you and your family rediscover yourselves in Paraguay. I have met classmates from there before and they say it's beautiful!

    • @Frieda_Wiebe
      @Frieda_Wiebe  Год назад +3

    Nice video. Im subscribing. I moved to Canada from Brazil in 2020 ( 1 uear of college, 3 years of owrk permit) and got my PR dec last year. I had a very good job, at least for my standard, almost 6 figures. I never had a car while in Canada, trying to not spend too much money. I decided with my wife to return to Brazil , and we did back in may. I'm not rich here, life is very hard, but it was falsely easier in Canada. I could have a good job, but nothing else I guess, because everything is so expensive. To be fair I've a son here in Brazil ( I'm not married with his mother) that did not adapt in Canada, so it was even hard to be so far from him.
    I don't know, sometimes I feel I did the wrong thing coming back after working so hard for the PR, and that I should wait a little longer to get citizenship. But in the other hand I feel that I did wrong and wasted so much time away from my son that any second extra is not worthy.

    Hey Frieda,
    thank you for sharing your family's story. I instantly subscribed!
    We left Germany in February 2020 to go live in Russia. For us it was also - hands down - the best decision we ever made. For many of the same reasons you and your viewers in the comments section describe...
    I was wondering if you guys are a believing family? In your testimony, you alluded a tiny bit to some metaphysical aspect charging your final decision to leave Canada, in "following a call".
    Just being curious: Do you believe, a personal God called you, or more like an impersonal energy of synchronicity?
    Either way, I for one greet you and send you our blessings in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ!
    Take care ❤

    Hey there Frieda-we’re a US couple considering a move to Paraguay. We recently adopted Anabaptist beliefs after attending an Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church and later a Nationwide church here in the States. Would there be any non-Colony moderate conservative Mennonite groups in Paraguay that you would be able to recommend to a young family who’d like to raise their children Mennonite that isn’t in the Chaco?

    • @Frieda_Wiebe
      @Frieda_Wiebe  3 месяца назад

      Hi, Brennan. The answer to your question depends a bit on exactly how you mean non- Colony. The two colonies we live between, for instance, each have one main (the original) church denomination that are run by the colony system. Then there is also two churches in one colony and one in the other that predominately consist of colony members but also welcome others from outside the colony. We attend one of these churches and, from our experience, very welcoming. Earlier this year we became members at one of them and our kids attend the private school. The only thing is, they are primarily low German with only a small portion being fluent in English. There is also Colony Rio Verde which has several of these churches.

      Hi, glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. I hear you, an AI system being installed where you spend most of your time wouldn’t be unsettling.
      The northeast side is very dry (no rain from May to October sometimes) meaning a lot of water preservation. We were there (the Chaco region) where there are more German towns with some Hispanics integrated. I would say that area feels a lot more like bigger towns in the US/Canada than what the Asunción areas do.

    I'd be interested in what specifics that you talk about. What in the schools changed , what regulations that Canada made that effected the business. I'm not saying you shouldn't have left but you were very vague about the exact specifics. What did you expect your life was going to be that it wasn't.

    • @Frieda_Wiebe
      @Frieda_Wiebe  Год назад +2

      Thanks for watching. You're right, I could have gone into more detail.
      The regulatory changes that effected businesses in western was mostly the regulatory changes that made it impossible for the oil industry to get their projects approved. These regulations have made the western provinces economies very stagnant in the last 6 year while we didn’t work in the oil industry, it did trickle into our line of work in the transportation sector. from 2014 to 2018. More than 60% of our profit margin was eaten up and never recovered. Carbon taxes certainly didn't help either for a business where fuel is essential.
      As for schools, it was the gender ideologies and critical racial theory inspired ideas that we didn't want our children to be taught. Schools are moving further away from actually educating children to promote strong brain development and rather a place to practice pushing social experiments.

      I actually did have a video on how we came to choosing Paraguay. Whether or not you can be successful here has more to do with the individual when it comes to making an income. For anyone wanting to just land a day job, yes it is much more difficult than in any developed country.
