    It’s stupid that they aren’t even considering Yuki for the seat. He’s beaten all of his teammates since 2022 and yet they still wonder who to replace checo with. They don’t like how he gets frustrated easily, yet they put max in that seat in 2016 and is arguably worse than Yuki in keeping calm. The argument against him makes no sense.

      It does make sence. He hasnt impressed even 10% like max did in 2015. Also max was 17 at the time yuki is much older. Also ges like 150cm tall it makes him look childish and people dont take him seriously. Also he has 0 charisma (watch any grill the grid episode). Hed be in contention if he was calmer, taller and more charismatic 100% no doubt in my mind

      Although I like Yuki, it is obvious that he had that seat as long as he did because of Honda connection. Also, the fact that teammates he beat were De Vries (who was a complete failure) and Ricciardo (who's clearly lost it) doesn't say much. It's kind of like Albon in Williams situation, where you can't tell whether or not he's actually really good or he only looks good because of poor teammates.

    • @Charleswarburtn
      @Charleswarburtn Месяц назад +13

      Since 2022 is the key. Couldn’t beat gasly in 2 seasons, not particularly close to him although 2022 was better, and red bull no longer rate gasly. Yes it was early in his career, but not the out and out talent that makes red bull sit up and notice. His next teammate was nick devries, who was a disaster. Then Ricciardo for a few races, broke his hand, came back, did alright, but still didn’t dominate really, and Daniel was far fallen from his red bull and Renault days. Considering how competitive Lawson was in such a short space of time, red bull may want to put their chips on him instead of Yuki. Not saying his form hasn’t been good against Daniel, but still not really warranting the red bull drive (Perez is obviously rubbish and needs to go, just explaining the yuki argument). The not keeping calm part would be excusable if he was senna reincarnated, but he isn’t and wont ever be. Red bull need a long term option if max leaves, and someone to help win the constructors. Whether they realise this and boot checo as they should is a different question.

      Nothing, he's printing them money. RedBull is big in Mexico, Checo is big in Mexico and as a business (which unfortunately absolutely takes precedence) RedBull is trying to make money, not win "sports" titles. The RedBull F1 team would like to keep on winning but they are being asked to keep making money - and not through sport.
      not singling out redbull by the way same for lots and lots and lots of teams at the pinnacle of their respective sports.. sadly money runs the world
      Checo earned his seat, He absolutely does not deserve to keep it. However because he earned his seat he doesn't get the kind of abuse lance does (lance doesn;t get enough abuse for what he's doing). But you could swap them over, Stroll in RB and Checo in AM, and they'd both look completely out of their depths.
      RB's car last season was the most dominant car we have ever seen across a single season and yet checo failed to finish on the podium at over half the races

    Looks like Perez is the only problem with Red Bull, which isn't the ultimate truth. What will happen if Lawson gets Perez' seat next year and still performs like checo? Should he take the blame? After Gasly, Albon and now Perez, I think it's time to lay blame on the team for prioritizing one driver on the development of the car.

    • @sovietman2591
      @sovietman2591 Месяц назад +19

      Thank you, I have been thinking this since the summer break. Red Bull as an organization has been exposed fairly recently but these problems go all the way back to the 2019 season. Red Bull has build 5+ cars that do not work for their second drivers due to the awkward handling characteristics only max can deal with. No matter the set up change the same result happens that makes the drivers question their talent and lose their confidence. Perez was talking about retirement because he thought he lost it but it was actually Red Bulls development error that permeated for 2 years and Red Bull ignored his concerns and now max has struggled for half the year. These are all signs of dysfunctional management within Red Bull all the way from Marko racist comments to Perez, to Horner’s sexual harassment allegations to the technical department basically ignoring Perez, and the cherry on top Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull as he was functionally pushed out of technical department. At best I think Red Bull has one more season of being a top 3 or 4 team if that. We should blame Red Bull and their awful management for these problems and actively call for their removal.

    • @gabrielnunez7623
      @gabrielnunez7623 Месяц назад +3

      Why blame the team if the other driver is winning championships by himself? Last year Max won 19 races with 2 of the longest winning streak EVER in the sport. He could've won the WDC had he missed either half of the season and he won the WCC by himself. Why in the world would they need to make the car better for a mid level driver?

    • @sovietman2591
      @sovietman2591 Месяц назад +2

      I feel like you missed my point entirely. It’s about the management at red bull and how it has degraded. Simply put, ignoring the concerns of your employees or in this case your driver(s) is always a recipe for disaster in any company of any size. Now red bull is paying the price because now they will more than likely lose the constructor championship. They lost the greatness designer in F1 history because they did not listen to him about development of the car. Also it is the team’s fault for developing a car with terrible handling characteristics that one of the greatest drivers of this generation is struggling with.

    • @Redlingstein
      @Redlingstein Месяц назад +1

      The car is NOT DEVELOPED for 1 driver. An OVERSTEERCAR IS THE FASTEST CAR FOR ANY DRIVER. Fact. That’s why Newey always designs an oversteer car! The drivers have to adapt to it….and Checo has problems adapting. And they see Liam adapting easily in different cars, winning his first race in several series shofar, DTM, SUPER FORMULA…
      Liam stepped into the VCARB in Zandvoort and Japan and did fantastic, even beating YUKI in Japan, overtaking him on the first lap.
      Its abt WHAT ARE YOUR SKILLs, arcana you adapt and can you handle immense RBR pressure. VCARB is a friendly less pressure team….RBR IS HIGH STAKES… and everyone knows that.

    Atrocious way of letting him go you say. Why, because he is that lovely smiling Danny Ricc? Ask Cyril Abiteboul what he might think of proper honorable behavior. Ricciardo has shown nothing but selfishness and desire for money. But so many people fall for his persona.
    Don't forget the shit he gave the broadcasters and the viewers, the people who make all that money possible, for showing Romain Grosjean getting out of that blazing inferno. They don't do that until they know the driver is ok. We all knew he was ok but we want to see the spectacle. Plus he has whined about other things that indicate that maybe he is too scared to drive F1 even though F1 is safer than the average Joe riding a motor bike to work.

    Agreed. Lawson beating Yuki fair and square wouldn't be enough by itsself to grant him a seat at Red Bull next year. However, I think this is more down to Red Bull believing him to be too unexperienced, rather than them desperately wanting to keep Checo. The point is: As much as we all love Ricciardo, he was done for good after 2022. They should have never brought him back. Now they find themselves in a situation, where they basically have to play it safe. Yuki, as good a midfield driver as he is, isn't really an option, because of his still lacking english skills and because he took pretty long to get to grips with F1 properly (and there're some doubts about his mental strenght as well). And about Lawson... well, they have given two relatively inexperienced guys a shot in the recent past and... we all know how that went. Even though I do believe, from what I've seen so far, that Lawson is probably a better fit for Red Bull than both Albon and Gasly were at the time, by the end of this year he will only have 11 GP starts to his name. And keep in mind, he is good (probably better than most people still think he is), but no driver like a Russel, Leclerc, Piastri or Norris. At least not now. He is a level-headed guy with mental strength but not a freak-talent like these drivers I just mentioned. He would need at least a full season in F1 to be ready for Red Bull.
    Anyway, this is just a very long way of me saying, that if Lawson would've been in the AlphaTauri/RB from mid 2023 instead of Ricciardo/Lawson and then Ricciardo again, he would probably be ready by the end of the year and Checo would already know, that he's on the way out. Now they don't want to give Lawson the Red Bull cockpit, unless they absolutely have to.
    By the way. I've got nothing against Yuki. I think he's deserving of a chance at Red Bull, but I'm trying to see the whole thing from Red Bull's perspective (so basically taking all the F1 pr stuff and their thoughts about him into consideration).
