I have been doing this for many, many years. I practically freeze most of my food items, because they last longer and taste better. It is nice to know that I have been eating the healthier method of carbohydrates. Thank you for sharing this useful information.
Fabulous! Thank you for this video. I have always frozen my bread and take it out as needed. So to know that it’s actually a little kinder to me to do this is wonderful. One very happy bread lover!
My favourite bread is a 'Farmhouse - wholegrain - multi-seed loaf', 4.5:1 carb to fibre. I keep it in the freezer until needed, and freeze a fresh one when the older one gets low. Straight into the toaster, then a cooked chicken, chilli dipping sauce sandwich. I never realised I enjoyed something so healthy!
This video is perfect timing. I like to have extra bread on hand, but apparently I was storing it all wrong. - Thank you for this video. - I appreciate it. - Kudos. 👍
I didn’t use to freeze bread, I heard Gordon Ramsay say not to but I tried it in the freezer a few months back and it was delicious after it was defrosted of course. Now I do it on a regular basis.
Thanks for all the great information, I have been doing this for a few years after hearing about it on BBC radio from a radio Doctor! The beauty of it is it also Worcs with pasta, really makes a difference in the long and short term. I looked into this because I thought I had trouble with gluten, freezing bread and pasta he’s the problem and now I can eat it in moderation with no Adverse effect.
When I was eating mass market bread,I bought a small chest freezer to store it when it was on sale. I now eat bread from a small bakery that makes it in their store. Much less sugar, and probably healthier.
3:20 he says if you're not toasting it let it thaw at room temperature , I don't do that , if making sandwiches I spread 4 slices on a dinner plate and 25 seconds on high in the microwave gives perfect results .
I always buy my bread in bulk as too far to go to get cut price bread every day 32 mile round trip so by 2 months supply at one trip and straight in the freezer, so been doing right then all these years. So that why I feel 50 at over 70.
When you live in tropical and subtropical countries it's the only thing you can do. And if you live in a hot dry country, you absolutely have to freeze it. You have no choice.
I put spuds in the fridge too but your meant to copy the shops so spuds don't go in the fridge but I put them in my fridge I also freeze cooked rice have done for years not meant to do that either...I put eggs in my fridge too !!! I'll carry on regardless ..interesting info thanks
Because I prefer toast, I always freeze my bread (for longevity storage) before toasting it twice. I fold the plastic bread bag back on itself so it is sealed twice by plastic bag clips.
I'm single, I can't eat a whole loaf of bread, or a package of burger buns, before it spoils. I don't buy bread anymore, just burger buns, and I freeze bundles of 2 together in a ziplock, and unfreeze only what I will be using within the next day.
You can't eat a whole fresh loaf so in the freezer it goes always done this my neighbours don't both elderly and just eat it takes them days ...yuk ....as it goes stale pdq....
Freezing bread ruins it! Condensation forms pulling the moisture out of it, I don't consider my glucose, don't have to. I prefer my bread FRESH, not frozen. My Grandmother made homemade bread, it was served 'cooled' to room temperature, Never 'fresh out of the freezer' (OXYMORON). I also worked in a commercial bakery, most items were placed on cooling racks and allowed to cool at room temperature, while others were slowly cooled at various temperatures under refrigeration.
While this sounds good, I'd do a bit of research before gobbling this down hook, line, and sinker. Man wasn't wired to eat grains. Think about it. Grains were only introduced into the human diet to any extent beginning about 4000 years ago, and then a dramatic uptick of intake during the last 200 years. This is a drop in the bucket when you figure that "modern" man has been on earth for what many believe is about 300,000 years. While eventually mans metabolic processes may change to better handle carbohydrates it's pretty clear that 4,000 years in no way cancels out 296,000 years of evolution where metabolism is concerned. We were wired to eat meat and fat, and lot's of it. It's really that simple.
I hope people understand that refrigerating.Your bread does not have the same results either nutritionally and for a freshness. Is the quickest way to ruin a loaf of bread put it in your fridge.

Me too!
So do I everything you can freeze I freeze them all.
I have always frozen my bread right from the store. Thanks!
I’m feeling healthier just listening to this, I’ve been freezing bread for years to keep it always available when buying in bulk. Who knew?
Wow as a diabetic, this is wonderful news to me ❤❤❤
This doesn't lower the impact of glucose significantly. You would be much better served by giving up bread entirely sad to say.
Freezing bread and toasting it is the way I have done it for years and years
Fabulous! Thank you for this video. I have always frozen my bread and take it out as needed. So to know that it’s actually a little kinder to me to do this is wonderful. One very happy bread lover!
I've been doing this for years..buy in bulk, divide up n freeze n write the freeze date!! ❤
The freeze dat is important - I’m lazy and forget that bit!😂
I take my bread and place it in a second bag before freezing. I never worry about freezer burn and when thawed, it always tastes very fresh.
I have also read that sourdough bread has a lower glycemic index that other breads. If so, freezing and toasting sourdough bread could be beneficial.
THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE AND TIP! WILL BE FREEZING A LOT MORE NOW.
STAY SAFE 💗🙏

As long as I can remember bread within our homes will stay frozen until needed.. Thank you Joy Home Remedies
I buy all my bread for a week and keep it freezing to last that long. Now I know i am doing good. Thanks for the advice.

Seeing this for the first time and i have learned something useful on this beautiful food for people who are thriving in economic conditions. Thanks🌹
Thanks❤
I already heard that elsewhere, so i started to freeze my bread. Your video is a confirmation 🙂
Been freezing pretty much everything for years to make it last. Being able to eat what I have a taste for and not forced to eat it so it won't go bad.
My bread has always gone straight into the freezer along with other frozen goods brought home from shopping. It lasts longer and tastes better.
Refrigerating cooked rice and potatoes overnight works the same as freezing bread.
Same with pasta.
Never herd of this theory before, very informative, great content!!!~~
Same applies to refrigerating rice & noodles. I cook & refrigerate a day before I plan to make casseroles.

i´ve been freezing bread for over 40 years, for convenience
About time you got it out and eat it?
@QB2ERS I do every day
Woww!! Thanks for sharing this😊

As long as you keep bread in the centre of the fridge it will always keep longer, and biscuits as well. An apple keeps everything fresh!
Thank you for sharing the information ❤️💯❤️
Me too..I have frozen bread for 50 yrs..does make a diff
Thankyou for sharing.
I back my own wholemeal and wholemeal soda bread and freeze it. It s always fresh and I usually toast it- delicious.
I freeze my rice and pasta too.
Thanks for sharing very informative..👍🥰
Great info 💯
Love this!
That guy buttering his toast is burnt to high heaven 😅
This works for rice and pasta too. Cook it, then put it in the fridge overnight. Don't freeze it, just cool it in the fridge.
Same thing with pasta, but I was informed that having it in the refrigerator did the same.
I have not seen any evidence that refrigerating it alters the glycaemic index, have you?
Great information 🙏🏻💗
I've been doing this already because I have to as I live alone. I use only sourdough bread and real butter

Yes,bread get dry while it’s frozen, but different when thought out and stored properly ❤IJS
“Thawed,” no shade.
It doesn't last very long in the freezer. Don't hoard it. Try to use it up within a month.
Does thaw restore back to offensive bread or must eat frozen. Like toast
I can understand that wirk for sliced bread, but can you do it also with french baguettes? How to defrost them?
I use the microwave to defrost,usually 30 seconds,works great,make my own bread and freeze always,so no waste.👍
What about wholemeal bread, are there any benefits there?
I thaw mine in a sandwich bag at room temp.. It don't take long to thaw out.
Half a loaf in the fridge 6 weeks, half the loaf in the freezer, 6 months.
If you live alone it is the only way if you don't want to throw it out before it is gone!
Try rye bread, it stays fresh for weeks.
What about flour tortilla is it the same ?
I'm single, I can't eat a whole loaf of bread, or a package of burger buns, before it spoils. I don't buy bread anymore, just burger buns, and I freeze bundles of 2 together in a ziplock, and unfreeze only what I will be using within the next day.
I freeze my bread. When I thaw it out I hang it. Don’t lay it flat on the counter. Again, hang it, tastes like brand new
Does this only apply to American "bread" or does it work on real bread?
You can't eat a whole fresh loaf so in the freezer it goes always done this my neighbours don't both elderly and just eat it takes them days ...yuk ....as it goes stale pdq....
i already knew
That sounds good, but why don't you include the science? Like where can I read the studies.
Tests have been done that disprove this claim. The glucose and insulin responses are unchanged.
Freezing it doesn't remove the toxic gluten, so what's the point, really?

What a croc. Bread is bread when it come to diabetes.

Bread gets very dry when frozen
Let it slowly thaw out in the refrigerator,it won't be so dry.
Double bag your bread to prevent freezer burn.
@ Thank you
@ Thank you
Add a paper towel, it will absorb moisture and smell
👍🤟👌

yeah it makes it soggy and nasty
Where is your research or proof other than your opinion? You’ve only given your beliefs. I would like to believe but have nothing to verify
Frozen bread is like cardboad. Big pass from me.
