Can never thank you enough for doing this wirk to educate us and bringing these conversations closer to home making it easier to understand how the dynamics at play will potentially affect us. This election cycle has solidified leftist politics for me, it was interesting observing so many left leaning people still opting to vote blue as the lesser evil choice while still commiting acts both inside and outside of empire. I hope more left leaning political analysis channels pop up here to add on to channels like yours and Dr. Ogada's
Yes! People miss the fact that slavery and the subsequent exploitation of Africa are about economic exploitation. So it really doesn't matter whether it's democrats or republicans in power. It's up to Africans to liberate ourselves and our resources
When I saw this video, I remembered what you said about our education system preventing us from linking whatever is happening in our world to our own realities on Lyn Ngugi show. Gosh! This is spot on. Some Kenyans actually were complementing the US elections saying they were perfect yet its being implemented here. We just cant connect dots anymore.
This video should be required listening for US audiences as well. In the US, people are still very confused for the same reasons obviously, and they also make the same mistakes of not understanding left, center, right, etc.
I think that another component that is lost to Kenyans, is the extent to which the electoral college, and gerrymandering of congressional districts, there is hardly anything to gain in campaigning in vast sections of America.
Interesting, good takes as always, Prof. But I think Prof needs to do thorough research on the recommendations ( organizations) given here at the end of the segment.
Love your analysis. The historicity of the political theory of the party's is on point. There was a change in party philosophy but that's neither here nor there with regard to the discussion. Around the time of Reconstruction (post-Civil war), the Democrats were the Dixiecrats supporting pretty much what current MAGA Republicans espouse. I think around the 1950's things reversed, but don't quote me on that. Abraham Lincoln (the Black savior - I'm joking) was a Republican. So sometimes you'll hear Black Republicans reference that time to feel comfortable about being Republican. You'll find that the US is a Plutocracy. ALEC American Legislative Exchange Council and the existence of the top lobbying industries provide proof of that. For the majority of the people, they go from administration to administration with very little life altering change. My advice; consider the system nefarious and view its parts with suspicion.
I thought Kenya was a conservative country. For example just bein gay is a crime. The gap between the rich and poor in kenya is worse than any western country. Dont forget tribal heiracky in kenya
Really Prof? Obama and Oprah are were they are because of a ‘good education’ alone? You preach not being disingenuous. As much as I enjoy you, one can challenge you too.
I address passive aggressive comments like that here. And this channel isn't for enjoying. Flattery will get you nowhere. ruclips.net/video/XwekjdRQ3mg/видео.htmlsi=JuGit72UHTc-EABf
@MaishaKazini so you also misread tone. And education is to be enjoyed again like you always say. So you actually dont want feedback or engagement if not to your style of expression (even if with flattery to soften the expression that's all). Noone's fighting you, trying to impress you or being passive aggressive just challenging a disingenuous comment as you challenge others and encourage people to do. You always talk about Kenyans and Africans not wanting the truth and being emotional, then you tell me off. Rolling my eyes
