    Hey Sean what's the name of the solid limb bow I always see hanging up in the back. She looks lonely. I like solid limb's Do you have a video that measures the difference's (speed/noise ect:) of the older solid limb bows verses the newer.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      I don't have that kind of video. That is an old Bear Whitetail II. It is super slow compared to newer bows. Elite has many bows that are solid limb with their two newest as split limb. The split limb enables a bow to have a larger cam, which can certainly help with speed. Perhaps watch my review video on Elite and compare the numbers of all their bows compared to their new Option 6 and 7. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/oOhAGLQ7Ipc/видео.html

    How do you know how many twists to put in the string before waxing it?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Год назад

      The bow will indicate how long the string should be. If your string is longer than that length you put twist into it until it is that length.

    sorry for being dumb, i just got my first bow, is that peep sight for aiming? i am using the tip of the arrow. My target is about 20 m away and the sights seem not to work. i think bc i am too close. You can see my video for what i am doing the first day i got it. i am not ready to go further away yet, also its a bit hard to find a greater distance at my place without going down my driveway but i need to make a fence first. Any tips are appreciated.

      I'm liking it a lot! I was shooting it yesterday. I'm still breaking it in, which is why I didn't tie in the cord for the arrow rest yet. I like to wait a bit and make fine tuning here and there as I am getting a bow set up just right for me. I think I have it right at that spot now.

    I see a lot of people remove excess wax after they work it into the string. Need to?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 лет назад +1

      You should always work the wax into the string with a piece of leather. You need to heat the wax up to melt it in, and yes, it is something you should do.

    Can you please explain why you don't do the serving? Thanks!

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад +1

      The string material is a much different type of material than the serving, and the serving is not impacted or worn down by friction from the wind or vibration of the stings in the shots in the same way that the strand material is. For that, and other reasons, the serving simply doesn't need the added help of wax to preserve it from wearing out.

    • @controversialhunter8032
      @controversialhunter8032 7 лет назад

      Sean's Outdoor Adventures is it also true that by waxing the serving it can make it start to separate?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      I could probably cause problems because you are essentially lubricating it with the wax.

  • @rubenp9346
    @rubenp9346 5 лет назад

    Hi Sean, great videos. I just purchased a SB1 because of your reviews. So far I love my bow. That being said, should I wax the new string or wait a bit until I worked the cables? Thank you

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 лет назад

      You can wax it. Just be sure to work it into the string really well especially the cables so that there is no friction from excess wax at the cable slide. Having friction from excess wax at the slide leads to cables breaking during the shot and damage to the bow.

    Don´t damage the bowstring with friction of leather..?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад +1

      Nope. Not in the least. I think it would be hard for a human to generate the type of friction that might be needed to damage a bow string with friction in that scenario. Plus you have to remember the lubrication that is taking place from the wax, which is the whole point of the wax, but you also need a way to work that wax down into the string. God bless you.

    Quick question I just bought a bow that had been restrung and then put away(never used again) for 3 years what should I do?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 лет назад

      It should be fine. If anything, the cables and string could have stretched, especially if it was exposed to high heat. That can be corrected by adding twist to them to bring them back to the specified length. Other than that you should be fine. And, it is possible that they have not stretched over time and you can just shoot it as is. God bless you.

  • @controversialhunter8032
    @controversialhunter8032 7 лет назад

    So. this is off topic but I am curious, why in the east they count both sides of the antlers to come to how many points a deer has but in the West they only count 1 side why is that and why can't it just be a universal thing ?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      I'm not sure how the different approaches developed. I guess because I grew up in the east I always preferred the way we do it. Perhaps it is like having and accent. You grow up in an area and you sound a little different than people who speak the same language but grew up in a different region of the country.
