I agree with you social media has been the downfall of the world

Bingo. We've had guns, and video games, and porn for a lot longer than these mass shooting started. Social media is the single largest factor in mental decline
I think smart phones in general have contributed as well too
@@tonyborelli. oh, you’re right trust me! I’ve really cut back on what I comment on RUclips for that same reason.
I get Sarah’s points, but she missed the biggest issue: Gun culture. There is a mindset growing amongst some people who own guns that emboldens them, encourages them to shoot first ask questions later. A growing paranoia that permits one’s fear or suspicion is more important and valid than the morality of not harming people. There are plenty of people who consume media, play video games, watch movies, all around the world who would never consider such actions. But it is only those within gun culture than commit these acts and share this dangerous mindset. The only connective tissue here is people who have guns in the first place.
Absolutely. Other countries have all the same issues that America does but the difference is the guns, and the fetishisation of guns and military might above everything else. I love America & Americans. There are so many awesome things about your country but you are a arrogant bully of a country, you go round telling everyone you’re the greatest country and the most free country in the world. You have a concept of “American exceptionalism”, that is basically “American supremacy”. I also disagree with Sara regarding religion as there’s no evidence to suggest more religion leads to less violence - quite the opposite in fact.
Comment is on point here
No lies detected
Gun culture is also police having guns, what point does your post even serve, the whole issue was brought up because you have people without a history of violence committing these acts. So anyone with a gun is part of a violent gun culture?
Fine, go after guns, all guns, see how successful that is.
You want people with guns I guess, but without the “culture”, what a joke.
Then you criticize Sarah making cultural points, and then bring up a culture of guns that you haven’t even described what it is.
What is it? If having guns is so bad, why not just ban them?
Has to be video games since the rich blonde said so. Lol. jk
I understand Sarah’s point. I think the continuous lack of empathy for others has had an effect on people’s ability to value another life.
It’s a stupid point. We here in Europe have tons more atheists than you do in the US. Yet we don’t shoot eachother. It’s the religious that are hateful, not the atheists. In my country, over 50% of people consider themselves to be non-religious, and we don’t shoot eachother.

@batgurrl. Wrong, most of the mass shootings are in Chicago, Detroit, LA, Baltimore, N.Y. Seattle, Portland Oregon. See the common denominator? Democrat run cities.

@@GH23d7sL45 bs. Canada doesn’t have the same issues, nor does Austria, New Zealand and dozens of other countries. Those w/o cars in major US cities shoot people and are victims on transit too. Can’t understand how people can’t grasp can support 2nd amendment AND have regulations. We drive cars too, but you have to be licensed, can’t drive a tank and other regulations.
I’m in New Zealand. I caught a couple of kids climbing over my fence the other day. I said “oy, what are you up to”. They said “sorry, I think our ball might be in your garden”, so we checked to see if it was there like normal humans.
You react and adjust according to one’s context and environment 👍 (and btw, love your country - I would so much love to visit someday! I’ve come as far as Australia, but I hope there will a time for NZ too (I’m from Sweden)).
In these cases, violence is senseless by far. It’s beyond what ever should happen. And then, being the devils advocate here, I sometimes can understand how these mistakes are made - talking about real and intense situations. If I lived in America (USA), I would be afraid too I think - at least subconsciously. With +300M guns, and people being able to get them just from Craig’s list, it creates intense situations. Especially for cops who has to work in these conditions (albeit I’m not condoning ANY of their excessive violence, incompetence or sometimes just blatant scandalous or illegal behaviour).
But imagine walking around on a workplace, where anyone can own a gun, and where there are so many shootings every year. A bad day, couple of bad nights with poor sleep, that would tip the container of stress over for many.
Or being in school, locked in, not being able to leave without permission. Being defenceless, and having to rely on that school/campus safety works at all times?

As someone who lives alone (albeit somewhat by choice) I can defiantly see how social isolation can play a factor. Nah, other countries have social media, they play violent video games, they have mental health issues... the only difference between them and us is how readily available guns are in this country. Now here we are in 2023 and people are trying to push this still??? We know the issue, we just don't care.
Kids were being intimidated and attacked when schools were being integrated, and that was long before social media. As someone else pointed out in the comments, Nordic countries aren't particularly religious, but they don't have these problems anywhere to the same degree.

Exactly. Australia, NZ and Europe as well.
This has nothing to do with religion or video games or movies or whatever. All modern countries have the same issues, but the not the same amount of gun violence we have in the US. Regulations and common sense gun laws are whats required, plus removing those politicians who take NRA money need to go.
Michael Moore laid out the problem so clearly in his Oscar-winning documentary Bowling for Columbine. It’s the culture of gun violence in America, which the NRA and right-wing media and politicians have exploited to its core. The documentary was inspired by one of the first major school mass shootings in America. If you haven’t watched it, watch it. I can’t believe that shooting was one of the earliest signs of what has become a cancer in America and the amount of violence we’ve lived through in the 21st century. It breaks my heart :(
Oh man, I had forgotten about that. That honestly made me really sad right now, realising that I had forgotten about it. And instead of things getting better, it has actually gone the other way around and worsened quite immensely since then.
It was such a sorrow watching that the first time I saw it. And now it happens so often. Wow, talking about normalising things,.. 😔
No... it isn't.. it's the end result of mainstream liberal media pushing racial hate and divide since Obama... but we're currently watching the cause gas light more Americans.. it doesn't take a book to see any of this, just common sense..
It's definitely our reverence for guns and our love affair with them. It's a problem that might be hard to substantiate, but the only thing that sets us apart from other countries that could let their firearms go at the first signs of alarm.

I agree. I play mortal kombat and street fighter often and never harmed or shot a person. Those talking points have been used since the 90's to divert attention from the resl culprit, the gun industry. In my honest opinion, people who don't attend church are nicer than Christians.
I usually agree with Sara and her part started out wrong but once she started going into video games, corn, and religion she ended flat out wrong imo. None of those things are exclusive to the US
all the things that religious people love. Including corn
And you think guns are exclusive to the US?? You think no one in Europe or Africa owns a gun?? If you don’t get her point then it’s not her fault. You just lack critical thinking skills.
@@franciswinston1040 guns don't have to be exclusively a US thing for them to be the problem. We have 400 million guns. More than people. The point is if all other things are equal then the guns are the issue. Beyond that, you wanna talk about critical thinking, you can't make a point without attempting to insult someone's intelligence. That's embarrassing and lacking critical thinking
@@WrasslinKing If all other things are equal?? 😂😂 Dude, you just made my point!! You definitely lack critical thinking skills. 🤣
@@franciswinston1040 No, I didn't make your point, you just aren't smart enough to interpret my point. That's all...
Because they've been dying to use their guns since they purchased them.
This. A responsible gun owner is prepared to use their firearms but hope they never have to. Some folks though are itching to pull the trigger, and they are the irresponsible ones.
Simple answer to your question,
Fox, Trump and Republicans.
I didn’t realize cities like Chicago and DC were Republican ran cities
I live in the Caribbean. We are by far not the greatest but we still have some of the values that we grow up with. It is considered to be disrespectful to enter a room, get on bus or pass someone on the street and watch them in their face and not say good morning, good afternoon or good night
I grew up in the church and, thankfully, got put of it. I've come across less than 10 genuine good churchgoers in my life. Most are abusive that I've come across. My experience is those involved in Christianity are the worst.
So many of the issues have to do with politicians refusing to separate church from state.
I hope you turned from the Church and not Jesus, it's people that's awful not Him. God Bless.
Sadly religion is used by some to oppress people
@@grayndrob if those people use god as an exuse maybe the problem is ur god
@@randomgeekcrap how is it God's fault that PEOPLE use Him as an excuse. That makes zero sense.
Well I have met people of all Faiths/atheist that have been the worst. I try to think of it as a people problem and not God.
Sarah missed the mark here, but Ana nailed it!
I usually agree with Sara almost completely on this show, but this is one instance where I disagreed with much of her diagnosis of the cause of this problem. I don’t think porn, video games, or the degradation of church is leading to this gun problem. The stats and evidence does not back that up at all.
It's fear - I have never seen a people so afraid and divided - when your first thought is to shoot then you let fear control you
Yes Anna!!
As a side note: today is the first day of Eid and no mention by the View. They wish their viewers a happy christmas, Easterz presidents day, hannukah, kwanzaa even diwali... but no mention of Eid. You guys know that millions of Muslims are americans as well and also lots of us watch this show too.
@@michaelgoodman3084 no doofus, I'm just saying they wish everyone else a happy holiday, no matter the religion but always omit Eid
Why can't folks keep their religion personal? Why does everyone else need to know what you are up to?
Revealed Religions are dangerous.
What is Eid?
@@Denise-ro8jx it's the biggest holiday for us Muslims to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Its 3 days of visiting family, counting our blessings and eating lots of food... basically a 3 day long Thanksgiving lol. Then the second Eid is in 2 and a half months to commemorate the Abraham willing to sacrifice his son for God. That is commemorated similarly but it's a more serious tone in those 3 days but still family blessings and FOOOOOD
@@Dragodol Thank you! Very special holiday indeed.
Easy access to guns..
I feel bad for the people that work for these delivery companies
1:41 that part!!!
As a Canadian, I will NOT be going to America till you get gun laws. The GOP has made it a nightmare in the US.
Well, there’s a reason why they have the second amendment and Canada does not, silly.
Ana STILL won't leave the deplorable Republican party! My God what would it take?!
Agreed with everything said in this clip.
It's not the ability to pull the trigger that is the problem The ability To prosecute the criminal . 99% Of all murderers have priors Convictions.
When sonny had "the talk" with her son, I'm sure she told him not to shoplift, rob, carjack or do home invasions
Boebert shot and killed a neighbour's dog that WALKED INTO HER YARD.
These guns used were not assault rifles. We can’t even get an assault rifle ban. What makes you think this country can universally ban guns? You have to look at other reasons and factors too.
Why isn't that little girl and her Dad getting a Biden White House invite? The Kentucky guy did just 2 days prior, but not this little angel?
