It is extraordinary for a world number 29 like Pragg to reach a world cup final beating the number 2 and 3 along the way as well as qualify for the candidates to the world championship. It is no surprise that he lost to the world number 1 and probably the greatest of all time, Carlsen. Playing against Magnus is like playing against a machine. It was always going to be near impossible to win this for Pragg but kudos to him for getting this far. The future looks bright for him.

Playing against much high rated Magnus Carlsen of 2839 Elo rating with 5 Chess World Championship in hat , Praggu with 2723 rating resisted but lost by sheer fear psycosis to play safe. Still he has shine like Mega Star stretching Magnus to 2 Tie breakers after 2 tame draws. First one was 4& half hour 70 moves, second one ended in draw in 30 moves 35 minutes.

But lastly competing with World's No. 1 is really one of the toughest and getting a win from there is more tougher... But would be said he is just phenomenal.... That already happened. Hans destroyed Magnus and as a result Magnus tried to ruin his career with cheating allegations then used his own false allegations to ban him from many major tournaments.
It's possible Pragg let Magnus win because he didn't want his career to end already. 🤔

If no proof is provided to the contrary, then Hans indeed defeated Magnus fair and square. And Magnus indeed used his position of power to unjustly ban Hans from various tournaments that Magnus owns. This is not theory, it's history.
