Imo it’s overhated. I loved Lilith’s sacrifice and the Troy boss fight also all the vault bosses. Bl3 is my fav in every category almost. Although, I do think that Handsome Jack is the best villain by far

Borderlands 1 is underrated as hell
IMHO it’s boring. I felt like finishing it after only playing it for a couple of hours, I did complete but man, what a pain. It feels slow but it kind of picks up near the middle and just gets slower near the end. During the final fight I was just using phase walk to get to the boss fight, which absolutely sucked. Just a mid ass game overall tbh.

it's a great game if you didn't play any other one, but after playing the sequels, specially the the second game, it will feel too empty.

Borderlands 2 is the best game in the Borderlands series (in my opinion)
No, it doesn't. The story was cool and all, but have you seen endgame? OP10 endgame literally required slag and was absolutely excruciating to play, and each character only had like 4 max viable builds (krieg only had one) And in BL3, gunplay, gameplay, QoL, VHs, and build diversity is better. Not to mention the 17 raid bosses and 2 takedowns.
bl2 is the best, but i feel a little sad playing it now knowing i know how to destroy every boss, master every tree, and get every character max lvl. Just something about it... feels off. Still my favorite, i have no idea where bl3 was going with their story. Pre sequel, for me, also had a crap storyline. Honestly in my opinion bl2 was the peak of gaming and cant be topped

Well not putting nostalgia as a factor here borderlands 1 was the first looter shooter with not a lot of classes while tps was a more developed game (not including dlcs) and had a better story

Tales From The Borderlands is a monumental adventure in proper classic Borderlands fashion (in spite of being made by different devs) that elevates the worls of Borderlands to heights it could have not reached without TellTale games. It's a beautiful, unforgettable story that makes the original games even better. In my opinion, the most formidable depiction of the game's world. The story is straight up goddamn unbeatable.

The only thing I would criticize about pre sequel is the bosses were very clearly only designed for multi-player in mind, they keep spaming enemies, and keep running away, but to be fair claptrap is honestly the best character they ever made, has a really fun action skill, can be for any situation, and can be a really good singler or multi-player teammate

My only grip with 3 is the story and maybe some of the humor. That entirely could be because in 2 and the pre sequel we got Handsome Jack, nothing will ever top him.
Handsome Jack is my favourite video game Villain. So Charismatic and so cool

Ive got about 10k hours in BL2 and around 200ish in BL3 and while BL3 is objectivly just a much better game there are just little bits and pieces here and there like Legendaries dropping more commonly then Greens, No loot midgets, no pearls/seraphs/effervescent and I just don't enjoy the story at all, it just feels like a slog to go though.
Almost a year ago I thought i was being too harsh on Borderlands 1, and after playing it once more I realized the following:
I could hold my hand over a campfire or have one of my limbs cut off and it would still be less painful than ever having to play this game again.
1: its okay, good concept, far from perfect very rough
2: masterpiece
presequel: great, close to perfect
tales: masterpiece
3: great shooting, terrible story, terrible lootpools, questionable endgame mechanics

I thought the loot pool for 3 wasn’t bad, I was getting hella legendaries and farming was made hella easy in that, but I could be mistaken here

They are good games, i really love bl3 but i would like more bosses and takedowns and not so many anointments, gearbox should be more careful and listen their fans, thats why wonderlands went so wrong and nobody almost playing it anymore
I never outright hated the pre-sequel, but when it first came out, it just didn't feel right. Over the years, I've grown to understand and like it, but I don't think it's worthy of being the black sheep of the franchise. Honestly all the games are great in their own ways

Not to forget that some legendary tier weapons will just.. fuse together, u can get a legendary variant of ajax’s using the Ajax body and it’s a godtier weapon despite coming from a glitch
I liked it because of how smooth the gameplay was, not as much of having to do side missions to up your level, overall smoother gameplay, perfect difficulty

As a semi-professional borderlands player I say that the first game is one of the best due to the gameplay, characters and story, it also came out as the best game of the year like GTA V but for me it is the best post-apocalyptic game in video games.

in my own personal opinion, borderlands 1 remains my favorite when it comes to lore. something about the nostalgia of the way they first set up the universe will forever be my roman empire. the pre sequel wasn’t my favorite, but it was an absolutely phenomenal game. i really hope we get to see what’s happened with athena, not really sure what’s up with her, like the rest of the fan base really. borderlands 2 is perfect, literally no complaints. borderlands 3… it’s honestly the one i go back to the most. i am an extremely casual player, and i think borderlands 3 is the most enjoyable game from that perspective. i love the reward of loot just falling into your pockets, making for endless collecting and excitement no matter how many times you open those god forsaken red chests. what got me was the dialogue. the story is okay, i will say they could’ve done much more with it, but the base game dialogue gets JARRING after a few runs. it’s very “boomer in a suit wants to be hip with the kids” coded, even for the time period it was made in. the dialogue gets SO much better in the dlc, but i would’ve loved to see the base game just be… better. more lore-packed.

Crimson Lance posters hung up all over Fyrestone really intrigued me, only to see them 10 hours later near the end of the game for a satisfying pay off. Love that.

BORDERLANDS 1 IS LITERALLY GOATED
I can't deal with the presequel... there's stuff to like in the pre-sequel, but it's like... in BL2 Handsome Jack is cracking up over gauging a dude's eye out with a spoon in a way that's both disturbing but also contributing to his character as the asshole villain, and in the presequel people are cracking up over methane gas... it's so infuriatingly stupid. It's like everyone on Elpis is a bunch of children who giggle at curse words and fart jokes.

I've played every single one since discovering the franchise in 2010. Played each one on release day many times over
@@retrograde1999 I got a rare experience and played the 1st game a few weeks before release and I was instantly hooked. BL2, 3, TPS and Tales are great but nothing can even come close to the original. Most newer gamers would lose their shit after doin 1 Mad Moxxi Dome fight they take sooo much time even with help.

@@JonBow_ it's like film Franchises where the first one is a template for others/not as good. Meh soundtrack, lack of the signature humour, dodgy textures in areas, paper textures, boring bosses.
People who rated Borderlands 1 weren't around to play it when it was first released. It was mind-blowingly fun being the first looter shooter with arpg skill trees and also the only game I could remember with that graphic style.
The disrespect on borderlands one made me not trust this
Borderlands 1 and 2 are top tier, Pre Sequel was great, Borderlands 3 was great, and Wonderlands was good until you beat the story.
Here’s how id rank them.
5. Pre-Sequel: Bad. Amazing DLC with Claptrap but good DLC doesn’t redeem a bad game.
4. Wonderlands: Idk what it is with this one, but maybe it’s lackluster story. Or lack of story at all, but this game feels like the Tina DLC just stretched itself out into a full blown game.
3. Bl3: Has amazing gameplay that the game developers really dive deep into, and they’re still working on fleshing out the game mechanics. The story is really bad. I do not remember the main villains, and I don’t want to.
2. Bl1: Bl1 is a great game, and I really love playing it. My biggest complaint is that it’s now over a decade old, so there are bugs and glitches around every corner. They might’ve remastered it for PS4/5 but it didn’t help that much.
1. Bl2: Bl2 had everything. I still remember when gearbox accidentally made everything a legendary. It was amazing. The game encourages you to seek the best weapons and the best loot, but it doesn’t tell you “Well for a Sal you need a Dpuh.” Instead it lets you choose which weapons you think you need. Is it a conference call and a bee? You decide.
