It infuriates me to no end that they killed Mia. They easily could have carried on the story without her demise. Worst of all it deprives Krieg of the somewhat happy ending his character deserved so much. Imagine this. The story play's out with Mia simply losing her powers like Lilith, instead of getting hers back, they go to that annoying little brat who's name escapes me. Then at the end of the Psycho DLC, Krieg finally meets Mia again, and they settle down on the ship. Krieg deserves that happiness. His character is made somewhat whole by making peace with his other half, but the love of his life, the only person who could understand him through the rambling is gone. He still has her memory, but that's not the same, unlike what the dumbass game dev's would have you believe. He's fixed himself partially, but now there's a piece missing that can never be put back. Kinda pokes a hole in the supposedly happy ending of the DLC huh?
I have a feeling that In the coming borderlands game in a few years they will somehow bring maya back because he spirit was released when the calypso twins died
I mean he directly addresses this throughout the whole DLC especially the end.. We all have holes, fixing yourself to be okay again is the point. And if he's fine why is everybody else still crying for him? "End of story"
If they make a bl4 eventually, I want krieg to return as a playable character, except you play as sane krieg, but his ability lets psycho krieg take control and rip everyone to shreds. Edit: in the immortal words of wacky woohoo pizza man: What the hell is this?! Why does this comment get so much attention? I legitimately made this comment at 2 in the morning
highly doubt it since that would make kreig, a dlc character the first recurring playable one. it would make more sense for bl4 to make him a dlc playable but regardless that would show a blatant favoritism. dont get me wrong i would love for that but i know on a more business and fanbase standpoint some people would be pissed.
What they really need to do is have BL4 have 4 new hunters, as well as all the surviving hunters from the previous games as playable. Update everyone’s abilities to make sense canonically. Extra credit for making Tina a playable character. Guarantee they would triple their sales figures, and it would be the only way to make the fandom happy...for at least a week.
And Maya can talk with him through his head, like Lilith can with all other vault hunters. Imagine how dope that will be, I think I would play only Kreig and nothing else
Well, maybe in a symbolic way. Ghost are just what we want them to be. Maybe what we need them to be. Maybe Sane Krieg is seeing a ghost. Maybe that's what he needs to stay sane.
I mean.... Maya's siren power always seemed to be much more psychic than the other siren.. Wouldnt be far fetch that strong memory of her in the mind of a psycho would be enough to give her a second chance.. But knowing Krieg.. Wont happen until Psycho and Sane Krieg both get along well
in borderlands 2 we were just grinding some boss, idk who even, and my krieg friend used redeem the soul on me. Out loud, clear as day, i heard the other player's callout "you don't deserve this, I do." I started crying.
The entire love story between Maya and Krieg is absolutely beautiful and wholesome in the weirdest, most tragic Borderlands style way, and I can't even explain how pissed I am at Borderlands 3 for having screwed up their story
Krieg is my favorite character in borderlands, I loved going on a buzz axe ramapage and bloodsplodeing pyro Pete. His poetic rambling were the best, and when you think about it, he probably has the most emotional maturity, focus and control of any vault hunter. He amazing representation of the crazy that lives in all of us, and I hope he finds happiness. Thanks for everything big guy, you made the neck snaps of garbage people my new favorite song.
Psycho Krieg's way of speaking is amazing poetry in my eyes. Hearing the response and seeing how its possible the words line up; even when they're odd, is just beautiful. For example, when Tina was getting lessons and she said it wrong. The first thing he said was: "Subjugate the mind tickle" Its like his words are metaphors on top of metaphors. "No, try again," becomes, "control your thinking," becomes "Subjugate the mind tickle"
Y'know I bet it was Flesh Stick who sent him on that Hyperion mission. Being a human trafficker, he probably lied to him about the job just to get him and others to Hyperion without having to do it himself like he did with Tina's family. So, in BL2 when Flesh Stick is tortured by Tina (probably the same way her parents were tortured) Krieg got some side revenge out of it.
I now realize that even in bl2, Kreig foreshadowed the fact his psycho side was holding back the rage. In regular state when you got below a certain amount of health. A new stage of anger called "Release the beast" showed another mutant taking over, one even stronger. Once it was over, I believe psycho side pulled the reaver side back into his cell. I like to believe the sane side was the one that'd hold a gun, psycho was the one we pull out the buzzsaw, and the reaver was the beast referred to in thw skill tree.
Krieg joining the B team and teaching tiny Tina how to speak psycho is honestly one of the wholesome things I’ve ever heard! I’d love a spin off game centred around the b team. No “end of the world” threats or anything, just Brick, Mordecai, Tina and krieg taking down some local bandit warlord and we could get to see and learn what the group are like all together
I don't know why, but his love for Maya (and her eventual coming to genuinely care for him) just really gets to me. There are infinite love stories out there, but this one just pulls at a certain heartstring. Well done, Gearbox. Whoever wrote Krieg did one helluva job.
I gotta say, I never got the hype behind Maya as a character. She seemed so bland to me in BL2 with her voice lines. And that game didnt really do a good job at fleshing out the playable characters. That being said, man did they make up for it in this dlc. Maya came off as wise, understanding, and kind with an unbreakable bond with krieg. Just great writing for her character and amazing voice acting.
Im glad krieg wasnt just a dlc character that wasnt just in one game an forgotten about. He was given a. Good story an you know what i feel at peace knowing our pyshco an finally be at peace within himself
I gotta say it, because it keeps happening. The phrase is "fleshed out" like building onto the bare bones that were there before. Not "flushed out". That doesn't even make sense.
Kreig was(is "future proofing this") always my favorite and when i saw Maya die in the game i knew from the 2nd that Krieg was going to be messed up inside, Krieg was my main him and Axton were the 2 i put the most time into and it fucks me up inside to see him hurting like this.
Krieg was the best playable vault hunter, just cruisin around on fire throwing axes an choppin fools up, tanking insane amounts of damage never had more fun playing borderlands
Dude, The Fantastic Fustercluck constantly made me sad, but its ending was so nice. How can such a crazy and hilarious character draw out such emotion?
Well in my case the issues of psyco krieg realy resonated with me the fear of not beeing liked, the fear of loss and pain the isue that no matter how much u'd like to see the world burn u can't lose yourself to anger and the feeling of never beeing complete but the resolution that you just keep trying and get close enough to the best version of you.
Krieg has always been my favourite borderlands character (I never got into bl1 when it came out) and bl2 will always be one of my all time favourite games ever, I'm even planning to get a Krieg tattoo sometime.
I’m not gonna lie, the Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck made me cry, no joke, and not just once, but several times, Krieg was the 1 person in the entirety of Borderlands who I wanted to know so much more about, his story is so interesting and yet, they never touch on it until this DLC, it made me happy to see my favorite character getting the light he deserves, and having a super fuckin fun DLC to go with it (which in my opinion was the best one out of the 4)
Why am I able to understand what Psycho Krieg is saying!? “I AM THE CONDUCTOR OF THE POOP TRAIN!” = “HELP ME OFF THIS SHIT RIDE!” The “SHIT RIDE” is referring to life and survival.
they shouldve made the ending of borderlands 3 that he comes in raging hearing the cringe twins killed his love. also sorry as a slicewound is the best sayings ever
Imagine how amazing it would have been if they had actually added this onto Ava's story. I think it would absolutely beautiful if Ava couldn't control her powers, and without Maya felt lost since she had no true Parent figure, not the same way Sanctuary looked out for her, but someone who could devote themselves to protecting her. Insert Krieg here. It would have been amazing. Ava decides that to truly understand her Siren powers she needs to go on a Journey of self enlightenment, to understand herself and her powers. Krieg could have chose to join her to make sure she stays safe, and in that time we could watch their relationship grow to more than just Krieg fulfilling Maya's wishes to keep Ava safe, but instead learning from each other and teaching one another the importance of love, give Psycho Krieg an actual reason to let sane Krieg take control, to better help Ava understand him and such. So they could understand each other. Something like the Last of us. It would have been absolutely beautiful to watch. Or.. Listen to via Echo logs. But even so. I'm sad they didn't choose to build these two characters more, especially Ava since her story is so bare bones even Sledge had more lore.
I absolutely love his raving retribution rants. The sadistic psychotic poetry that barely makes sense yet it says everything it needs to paint a picture of how the meat man sees the world around him. Krieg is the only psycho with an ounce of humanity left
that shot at the beginning I hadn't thought to use photo mode there. really interesting that they used the same little girl model as the ghost in DLC 2. Wonder if that was just for sake of time?
Yeah it reminds me of dark souls but it annoys me how important story elements were in echo logs that are missable like nyriad powers transferred to Tyreen, and Tyreen Troys characters development that led them to being annoying.
This one hit me hard since I played as him and Maya during BL2. I definitely enjoyed and loved that this DLC fleshed him out since he was an extremely interesting dude in the second game IMO.
Krieg and Maya's story is just beautiful, I always did wonder why he wasn't in BL3 until this dlc came out. Cause I was so expecting when Maya died to just see Krieg on the ship just screaming at one of them like, "WHERE IS PRETTY LADY? WHERE IS MY PRETTY LADY?!"
Meanwhile IGN is like "one of Borderlands most blanted characters." IGN dont even know what the hell there talking about. I bet anything they just blazed through the entire main story of the DLC and not even bother finding echo recording that cantain backgrounds or doing side missions although there's only like 3 main side mission in that DLC. I have to admit something though, if that how past Krieg is supposed to look like then it not really a good look for him. His past self looks pretty generic if you ask me especially around the face, even though its blurred out, because he looks like he's from the hodunk clan. I also really don't think Krieg story is over if there showing off his past because who the hell is his Daughter and how many years has it been in Borderlands since he was seperate from his family, his daughter would have to be in her late teens early 20s by now.
@@Olimar92 i also doubt that his wife looks like that too because it looks more like a adult version model of Tina herself. But if his wife did look like that and Tina is in fact Krieg daughter things don't add up because Krieg daughter looks nothing like his wife or his past self because his daughter got a different hair style. And 2 its been inform multiple times that Tina really isn't Krieg daughter either. I guess I'm just more curious on who his daughter is, maybe potentially someone that we know thag been hiding under our nose or a possibly a new vault hunter in the next borderlands game.
The generic model is probably to save money and memory space, so they reused already existing assets for a 20 second scene. And isnt the whole point of the dlc though is that the past doesnt matter anymore? He tried to recapture it, but sometimes you cant and you just have to move on and rebuild for the future. And it will never be close to the way it used to be, it will never be perfect, but you can get--- as krieg put it-- 'close enough'.
@@couldnotic I believe that those behind the Game have already said that Krieg is not Tina's dad. That being said, he could be a cousin, uncle, or other sort of relation.

Do you know what infuriates me? All that you wrote and the fact that Krieg didn't kill Ava or at least beat her up.
I mean he directly addresses this throughout the whole DLC especially the end.. We all have holes, fixing yourself to be okay again is the point. And if he's fine why is everybody else still crying for him?
"End of story"
Who is Mia?
It's Maya, dude.. But we forgive you, since u cared about Krieg👍
If they make a bl4 eventually, I want krieg to return as a playable character, except you play as sane krieg, but his ability lets psycho krieg take control and rip everyone to shreds.
Edit: in the immortal words of wacky woohoo pizza man:
What the hell is this?!
Why does this comment get so much attention? I legitimately made this comment at 2 in the morning
Y e s
highly doubt it since that would make kreig, a dlc character the first recurring playable one. it would make more sense for bl4 to make him a dlc playable but regardless that would show a blatant favoritism. dont get me wrong i would love for that but i know on a more business and fanbase standpoint some people would be pissed.
@@eddiekalista3222 makes it sound like bl4 would be the endgame
And Maya can talk with him through his head, like Lilith can with all other vault hunters. Imagine how dope that will be, I think I would play only Kreig and nothing else
it’s crazy how over time they all started to understand kreigs speech like the guardians with groot
I think it's hinted that Maya is actually a ghost in Krieg's head.
Well, maybe in a symbolic way. Ghost are just what we want them to be. Maybe what we need them to be. Maybe Sane Krieg is seeing a ghost. Maybe that's what he needs to stay sane.
@@ak33mSM no like literally, and figuratively in a sense.

It makes me feel super sad that Krieg won’t be able to see Maya again
in borderlands 2 we were just grinding some boss, idk who even, and my krieg friend used redeem the soul on me. Out loud, clear as day, i heard the other player's callout "you don't deserve this, I do." I started crying.
My personal favorite redeem the soul quote is "Monster down, Angel up"

Krieg is the character that made me start playing borderlands, so I'm really happy you made this video.

Best pickup line " I'm the conductor of the poop train"
The first thing he said was:
"Subjugate the mind tickle"
Its like his words are metaphors on top of metaphors.

KRIEG
A commander of the poop train.

He better come back as a playable character again in the next game
Or at least a prominant NPC.
@@Mikey-em8hs Nah, playable character or we riot.

With everything that goes on with Krieg it just makes me want to cry inside

I’ll scream HERE COMES THE POOP TRAIN
I damn near cried because of Maya’s final message to him.
I’m not gonna lie, the Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck made me cry, no joke, and not just once, but several times, Krieg was the 1 person in the entirety of Borderlands who I wanted to know so much more about, his story is so interesting and yet, they never touch on it until this DLC, it made me happy to see my favorite character getting the light he deserves, and having a super fuckin fun DLC to go with it (which in my opinion was the best one out of the 4)
I've never been this early. And I don't regret it at all.
Can you please do a history of the doctors Zed, Ned and if you want Ted
Why am I able to understand what Psycho Krieg is saying!?
“I AM THE CONDUCTOR OF THE POOP TRAIN!” = “HELP ME OFF THIS SHIT RIDE!”
The “SHIT RIDE” is referring to life and survival.
they shouldve made the ending of borderlands 3 that he comes in raging hearing the cringe twins killed his love. also sorry as a slicewound is the best sayings ever
I guess he just gave up on looking for his daughter
See, the developers need to take a page out of your book
I felt more emotion playing through Krieg's DLC than I did when Maya died, it's like two completely different writing teams made each story
I absolutely love his raving retribution rants. The sadistic psychotic poetry that barely makes sense yet it says everything it needs to paint a picture of how the meat man sees the world around him. Krieg is the only psycho with an ounce of humanity left
Why is this history so painful to listen to. its so beautiful but it hurts

The main story of 3 was terrible. Everything else I agree.
Yeah it reminds me of dark souls but it annoys me how important story elements were in echo logs that are missable like nyriad powers transferred to Tyreen, and Tyreen Troys characters development that led them to being annoying.

Krieg is my 1st and most played Vault Hunter in Borderlands 2 ♥
Thx for this video! Really brought back a lot of fun memories I had playing BL2 :)
The generic model is most likely because Krieg can't remember that part of his past. He was also probably a bit smaller than he is now.
