I LOVED Cloud Cukoo Land. Not enough people talk about that book and I can't believe he didn't win another Pulitzer for it. The book is truly a work of genius and made me ugly cry. Love it!

I’ve been influenced by the negative opinions on Cloud Cuckoo Land so you and Alice (giant Bookshelf) have convinced me that I should read it. I’ve put it on hold at my library. Did you listen to it or read it in hard copy? I love your list of favorites 2023 wasn’t that great of a reading year for me. But I’m looking forward to 2024.

I listened to As Long As the Lemon Trees Grow and had to stop several times but as favorite for me as well. Have you read The Lost Year by Katherine Marsh? I also read Julia and the Shark, which I borrowed from the library but definitely want to own it. I have Cloud Cukoo Land borrowed out but want it back so I can read it. 😂

The only book I read was Kindred I gave 3 stars not fond of time travel books it confuses me
I’m starting to like time travel! It still confuses me, but I think I like that 😂
One of Doerr's lesser known book called Under Grace is so good.
I think I have that one on my shelves!! Need to read it still.

I love Anne of Green Gables I think it's the first book I stayed up all night to read. I really enjoyed Lessons in Chemistry as well. Thanks for the video. I will pick up the Help this coming year as I live historical fiction. Thanks a bunch.

The Help is a 5 star for me and I don’t give those lightly. The movie is so great too.
@ChessieChess I watched the movie when it first came out. My experience is that I usually prefer the book so I will have to read the book, rewatch the movie and then make a video about it.... 🥰

Great list! I'm glad Lessons in Chemistry was a hit for you. Have you watched the adaptation? I'm enjoying it but, as always (almost), the book was better. Still worth watching though! I've only read Parable of the Sower, but I really want to make reading Butler's books a priority this year. She's a brilliant author!
