Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! It's cold in Maine. Tomorrow Is the 27th aniversary of me retiring and moving to Western France. In that period we have had snow three times, but has disapeared by midday the following day. I think that I could not cope with it for more than two days. Thank you for keeping us up-to-date with the work of Sunnydale Farm. God bless you both.
I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but why don't you store hay in the heifer barn? Seems like there's room for at least some, and it might free up room for more equipment storage and also you wouldn't have to take so many trips over there with single bales. Good day to you two, and mother, love the wreaths! On our little farm that was on the Maumee River I used to pull grape Vines out of the trees some of them four or five inches in diameter and to make grapevine wreaths, when I would make the 6-ft wreaths I would have to set 3 fence posts in the ground to get them to conform.
I never dealt with a stanchion barn, I grew up with a double 6 parlor ( my 1 year old foot print is in one of the steps) . I can't fathom how y'all can make it doing what y'all do in the way the business is now. Keep at it, keep "pulling for Milk"!

Thanks Tay!!! I like that you decorate the barn for Christmas. I have always liked the candlestick in the window decoration. We got to go on another sawdust run!! Getting boughs for the wreath is great part of Christmas. As a kid we would go to a plot of trees Mom and Dad planted when they first married and cut down our Christmas tree! Sometimes it was like your trip to the woods, but more often there would be a ton of snow for the tractor to go thru. We always had to wait to go for the tree. Mom never let us put the tree up more than a couple days before Christmas. Satchmo is a great name for the bull.

Suggestion try alternating the generators to work them a day or two just to keep them working so when you do need it to work the hopefully one of them will work.😊
Hi Tay liked the departure from farm work expand more.Youngsters could make a little money making wreaths and thinning out and selling Christmas trees lets plant 100 saplings now harvest 7 yrs or so $35-$50 each = $3500,oo average many abandoned fields here in northern Wisconsin as the old farmers give it up. Happy winter ! cuttin boughs with grandma they buy them here for making wreaths.
