Today was a pretty rare one, a huge swell charged the coast of Nazare, and the wind was pretty calm in the morning. Surfline was calling for the swell to hit 25-30 feet, that is then magnified by the extremely deep canyon that leads up to Nazare, creating massive waves that we see here. This was easily the biggest swell of this season so far. Some amazing rides, and wipeouts today! Stay tuned for the RAW FOOTAGE, its coming up in the next video! Hopefully there's an even bigger one on the way!

Bro, this is seriously the best big wave footage ever. The 45° angle is the best dude. It gives more depth perspective relative to wave height, compared to the usual onshore shots that only allow you to see the front of the wave, thus making it boring and one dimensional. Your footage is awesome. Wish you the best.

Definitely excellent footage. Shows the tons and tons and tons of water building up there. the base of that wave looks like the length of a football field. Imagine being an earth-mover charged with moving a hill that size - and it's moving water! A shot I'd like to see is a distance angle that shows the direction of the break relative to those rocks. Btw, for waves like that, those vests have CO2 cartridges to inflate; has anyone tried a scuba air cartridge to inflate an air pouch in that vest, with a tube to pull to get one breath of air if held under?
It's cuz of drone technology, no? Before drones they didn't have much a choice, obviously.

There are some people that like the sound of the waves and wind, without music. If you were there, you wouldn't have music in the background. Even surfing little stuff (like 45 years ago for me) the noise of the wind and waves was part of the experience.
Hey man, I totally agree. I don't surf but love watching. I'm a musician and I was taught guitar at 17 by a surfer here in Portugal, I became a pro musician and he kept surfing the music ...when you see that mountain of water thundering behind him makes your heart race.
That first wave with the drone footage. thought he's missed his window and then WOAH!!!! the real wave appears. What a lead in.

Hands down some of the best big wave footage I've ever seen. Wish there was more. The Whitewater perspective exploding toward the drone really should how powerful that place is. The first wave is very surprising, looks like it is not going to brake, the surfer is almost exiting the wave, and then bam it just pops up as enormous as Nazare can be !
The waves are incredible, but one of the things I find most impressive is the drone pilot's trust in his equipment. Great angles.

Near the end of this video I started to see stars and then it dawned on me- How long have I been holding my breath? Bro, this is the most riveting and horrifyingly honest 4 minutes of film I've seen in my 41 years on this planet.
What a bizarre wave. Its like some ancient, island-sized beast is slowly rising up to the air, pushing the water with it, before slowly sinking down without ever breaking the surface. All we see is his wake.

In this video, you can really feel the power that comes with each wave, the massive energy hiding below the waves.
