You sure know your stuff, pretty cool to see it coming down,be good to see it when its done. I want to rebuild a bike soon and this certainly gives me the motivation for it,thanks.
I was watching early on and almost spoke out loud to myself, “He’s gonna have fun with the swing arm and linkage.” Loved seeing the rusty needle bearing parts on the floor! Your not a dirt bike mechanic until you experience the pain of what you went through. Since I rebuilt a KX125 a few years back, my current bike’s been maintained like a champ. Great video.
Best thing to do on a use race bike tear it all down. The stuck axle, swingarm bolt, along with linkage being rusted/welded in place. BEFORE purchase check on OEM Parts availability.
That odd item inline after the coil was an I-cat spark booster. It supposedly collected the wide spark pulse and condensed it for a more effective and precise pulse with greater magnitude. I tried it back in the day and it instantly removed a slight detonation I had been experienced and never fouled another plug the rest of the time I owned the bike. 🤷🏻♂️
Holy crap. Honestly i couldnt be more jealous of the us dirtbike market. In the uk it will cost you £2000 for a older running bike that need some work. Over there you get 2010s on bikes for half that. An part availability is way better too.
yeah before you know it you buy a bike thinking "it only needs a top end" or a "new spark plug" or even gas but then you figure out it needs a lot more work, and you end up with the bike all apart good luck!
I think it’s great that you have made the attempt to re build this bike but obviously you are very new at this. When you start a build like this you need to with the engine. Main bearings, main seals, impeller seal, rod bearings/rod kit. Take the whole engine out of the frame so you can assess the situation. You made more work than necessary.
Every kx frame that was painted green instantly got rust after boots scratched it, u could’ve bought it brand new in 2002, ride in the rain with race boots, have a rusty frame next day, horrible fail by kawasaki
Hey Kincade, I've recently gotten into watching these types of videos and your channel is my favorite. You have a great presence in front of the camera and do great video work along with showing the process. I used to ride 2 strokes between 15 and 26 but then got into mountain biking. I'm about 50 now and will be retiring soon. This looks like a great hobby to take up (buying old motocross bikes and fixing them up) but I'm pretty inexperienced. Do you have any advice for me getting up to speed quickly on learning how to do this or do I just need to jump in and get started and figure it out on my own?
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel! Truthfully I just jumped in and learned little by little! Here is a video I made about the 5 biggest tips I've learned over the years: ruclips.net/video/zwEv9Go9X84/видео.html
Love the title “accidentally took it apart”😂🤣

Great video, Kincade! The boys and I are tearing down a 1987 KX 125 I bought last December right now. Keep up the great content!!
Awesome Tom! I'd love to see that thing finished!
I’m so happy you got a 2002 kx250 as that’s my ride and I’m soon going to be restoring her so this video plus the future ones will be brilliant
Let's goooo!
@@KincadePavich please do a semi in depth build. I appreciate that’s not what you planned but this bike is too good not to go overboard on

Stoked to see what is to come of this little old kx!

You need to start with the engine.
Yes I'm very new thanks
@@KincadePavichwilling to bet you’ve rehabbed quite a few more bikes/engines than that comment poster lol.
Would love to see some side by side testing videos between built 250’s!
Can’t wait to see the build
Ugh…I wish I had one to accidentally take apart. Just missed a similar year Suzuki 250 listed at $900 by 1 day. 😢
The deals never last long!
@@KincadePavich that’s for sure!
Vids are awesome keep up the great work. Working on a 91 kx 250.hope to have it running soon.
Thanks a ton!

Good content. That KX needed some love.
She's getting it!
I love it when you Kx250s my Bruh
I did the same with the same motorcicle , was a nice project
Awesome!
would love to see a full build..
When I bought my yz the linkage came out in loads of rusty broken pieces
Love a good kx build
Breaks my heart to see someone never maintain their Kawasaki KX.
Where did you find that punch you use for the axel and swingarm? I've been looking for something like that.
Harbor freight!
Nice video bro
How exactly do you accidentally take something apart - an affirmative act.
Why didn't you use penetrant and some thin lubrication to take out the swing arm axel.. the axel might've got less hit from the hammer
Thankfully I didn't actually damage the axle! But I did use a little PB Blaster. It's hard to ensure it works its way into where it needs to though
@@KincadePavich cool bro
