    Alex! Big fan of your channel! I have bought a few of your plugins and use them REGULARLY! SO GOOD. I just wanted to let you know about a "bug" or something that you might want to fix in your Zoom plugins. When I edit my videos, I use a lot of pictures, and in the media area, I click on them and automatically scale them to fit the screen. (I may have even learned about this trick from your videos. GREAT times saver.) I do that, then apply a Magic Zoom effect to my desired pictures. But then when I add any transition, the pictures will automatically revert back to their original scale, so I have to go in manually and adjust the scaling in the Zoom plugin to fit the screen. Not a deal-killer, but it seems like a little bug that takes away any time I saved. Anyway, just thought you would want to know. Thank you again for your hard work!

    Has anyone brought up the fact that having the "Media Storage" as an option in the edit page instead of the "Media Pool" window would be so nice?? I hate having to drag my music folder into the media pool every time I save a new song to the folder outside of davinci. I wish I could grab straight from the source folder through davinci. Much like the media browser in Premiere.
    If anyone has any suggestions or maybe I'm missing something obvious, let me know! 🙏

      @@MADLM i edited the question a bit for clarity. if you're suggesting moving the media storage panel, I can't drag it. but i think you mean the music folder in this case. which I can drag in, but if i were save a new song i got online to the folder outside of davinci, inside davinci it doesn't update. that's the issue i run into.

    • @MADLM
      @MADLM 2 года назад

      @@JackSather I understood what you said. You want to have media storage panel instead media pool to access directly to the media you update/move/create. It would be really nice to have this feature as you say but for now just drag the file wherever it be into davinci and done.

    Cool video... getting inn to DR... loving it. Coming from PP... I have a couple of questions. 1) The right thing to do when it comes to creating the "projects" in the settings option, is to create then different presets, lets say 1080P, 4kUHD or 4k DCI... then choose accordingly... I can do this I suppose regardless of me creating proxies correct? For example I have 6K or 8K footage... I want to work on a 4K Time line, (also deliver in 4K) so I create the 4K project setting and then I create proxies (Proress proxy)? 2) Where does DR keeps the projects saved? I get really confused with that... (I am used to PP...) & 3) The right way to create those black bars is obviously to shoot in the right "ratio" from camera.. but only high end cinema cameras have that option. So if I have to create them as you did, do you know or have the exact cropping percentage for the 3 basic most used ratios? 16x9...2.35 & 2.40...1.85...? Thank you in advance! cheers!

Also, at the time of writing, I still don't know how to cut a single clip by secs, like if I got from a job I need to cut the video at 0:26 and 1:04, how do I do that in Resolve? I am searching YT like crazy right now and didn't find a clear answer on that.

    Curious, can this be done? if you have 2 projects (or 2 timelines). How can you render both (projects or timelines) into 1 output file? E.g. we may create a family trip and a timeline for each day. When I am done I want to render 1 video file that contains all the days. The only way I can think of doing it currently is cut&paste each individual timeline into 1 massive timeline (and render it). Yup, I know loooooong question, but any hint/help would be awesome. Thanks again for the tips!

    • @MrAlexTech
      @MrAlexTech  Год назад +1

      Hey hey! I would do exactly that, just add the two timelines onto another timeline.
      If it were me, I'd create both timelines within a single project.
      Then create a third timeline and drop the actual timeline files e.g. timeline1 and/or timeline2 (it'll be within your media pool) onto the third timeline, like you were adding a clip onto the timeline3 but you're actually dropping the both Timeline1 and timeline2 on.
      Then you can render it off 🙂

    Is there a quick way to 'de-select' all the clips on a timeline so you can edit without fear of shuffling everything along at the moment of hitting delete...?

    • @KenRossPhotography
      @KenRossPhotography Год назад +1

      One of the safest ways to deal with that is to not use the Delete button unless you actually do want a "ripple delete". Instead, select the clip you want to get rid of and then hit the backspace key. This will remove that clip, but no affect anything else around it.

    Adjustment clips are rubbish in Resolve. I have 4k footage in a 1080p timeline, and I want to pan, zoom etc using an adjustment clip so I can affect multiple clips at the same time. Unfortunately it doesn't recognize the resolution of the source footage under it. So when you zoom in, it is a 1080p version of your footage that is zoomed in, much like creating a compound clip, so looks bad. Resolve really sucks sometimes. If anyone knows a way to "resolve" this, I'm all ears. Currently I only use the zoom on the clip itself to see it in hi-res.
