Never forget trying to break loose a chevy rear end cap, I busted the tool, and slammed my thumb, right into the seam of the gas tank. Mashed my thumb between the long handled wrench and the metal lip of the seal. For the next month I was using 2 fingers bent, to hold a bolt and start it into the threads.
I want to give you a thumbs up for a great video but man, blowing half that crud all into the car and then lifting the old pump off with most of the crud still on it ??? So 2 days later the new pump gets clogged with mud? All you needed was a wet rag. Great tutorial otherwise.
This is a good video on how NOT to do this!!!! all that dirt should be cleaned before opening the lid but hey he did it in 5 minutes...must be quite a mechanic!🤣
thums up for the injured finger ...brothers in arm
Hahahahaha
Straight to the point! Subscribed!
Thank you, I try. 😁👍
Very helpful. Excellent camera work shows exactly what you are doing. A real confidence building video.
I appreciate the feedback!
Can you provide the part #, where you found it, and the price? How long will the new one last?
Hows the Carter brand pump doing 2 years later? I see the same one on RockAuto but have never bought any of their other parts.
So far it’s holding up good. I buy quite a bit from them just because they have great prices. It’s an option if you need to go that route.
I like your special service tool lol
Yeah, do you have the part number for that one?
What if the cover is glued on, not bolted on?
Thanks ill be doing one this weekend
Thanks a lot .Great info. That's what I was looking for
Ok to pull the fuel pump fuse instead of negative battery cable? I don't have my radio codes.
What was the brand on that wooden screwdriver? I have the same one.
I’m not sure but I hear they’re not very poplar.
What were the symptoms of it going bad??? Mine won’t start on the first try always on the second.
It just died while getting on the highway.
@@ProZacksProjects How many miles was the car at before the pump died?
@@theRandomAccess I believe it was around 140k
@@ProZacksProjects dang, I’m overdue.
Bad fuel pump will idle fine but as soon as you put it in drive it stalls sputters and dies.
I had to stretch the gasket out a little so it would stay put. It works but now the gas gauge is stuck at 75 percent.
Oh that stinks!
Was the filter in the pump housing? What part # and where did you get yours? Good diy vid. Thanks
He changed complete unit which includes fuel pump fuel filter, fuel gage assembly and complete housing . That costs around 60 $
I bought the Carter fuel pump assembly from Rockauto.com for ~$158 the part number is P76578M
Next video; how to get dirt and debris out of fuel lines and tank!
Hahahaha exactly
Could this be why my 06 is running lean? I changed the MAF already.
Nice, simple informative vid. 👍
EXCELLENT VIDEO! Just the tutorial I needed. (Knuckle busting at its finest lol.)
Haha yes. Nothing like your car leaving something to always remember it by.

@@khacker7345 that’s rough!
Thanks you i save like 600 dollars for this 👍👍
Thimbs up for the injury bit 3 hours of banging later & it still hasn't moved a tiny bit
How do you know this needs to be replaced? I have 2006 corolla cranking with not start?
Pull the rear seat and when you turn the key on you should hear it buzz as it pressurizes. If it’s silent then it’s dead.
@@ProZacksProjects Thank you kindly!
you make it look so easy reality you break all the tabs🥲
I actually didn’t break the tabs.
@@ProZacksProjects I cannot get it to move even with a small sledge hammer
and wood. I tried with a metal and a metal piece but it just broke the tab.
Thumbs up just for using the Wooden Persuader instead of trying to get the ring tool on short notice. 🍻
I'm definitely about to do this on my mom's corolla
I hope it goes well. 😎👍
Guys, I can't unscrew the lid, I already bought the key. The ribs break and the lid doesn't unscrew. Who had this and what did you do?
Have you tried tapping all around the top to try and break loose whatever is holding it?
I cant get that red clip in tried everything
It’s very finicky but try using a tiny screwdriver and working the ends.
Awesome video
Thank you. I tried to keep it simple
No blood no foul
Tip: dont loose the yellow clip
thanks

It’s a lifetime pump so I’m not worried. 😉 jk there actually wasn’t that must loose debris on top but that is an important thing to have on hand.
There is actually a wrench tool that is for removing that big plastic ring but it’s $50 minimum 😢
And it works like a 5.00 tool. Pretty much useless
Good to know
👍🏽💪🏽💯Awesome Video

I vacuum would be a must for this job. If I had a cordless one then that would’ve been wonderful.
Rumor has it the car never started because he didn’t vacuum it
@@baileybennett5847 I would’ve but…… my vacuum sucks.
Explica en español todo el mundo no sabe inglés
... probably should NOT do this on a full tank, lol
Probably……. But necessity may dictate otherwise.
Clean the blood off, thats pretty gross
You're not doing it right unless the blood comes out.
😂
Waste of time making this video absolutely terrible
