I started my training a few weeks ago. The app i am using is an app where you do the training yourself by reading and following along with the modules given at the end you take an exam and with passing you receive ypur certificate that way. I am glad you spoke about learning more than just Asana thru training i was really feeling insecure about just learning the information yet not doing the physical part of the training yet. I am learning so much and is truly thankful to this practice abd now no how important the education of yoga is not just the movements. Ase.
You had me at telling your plant Fiddle that you love them. Your heart is pure.💚 I’m not an aspiring teacher, I do look for these values in a teacher though, because I want to embody these values in my own practice.
This is insanely useful, thank you so much. You make so many important points that many of us wouldn't have even thought of when looking for the right program. Thank you so much for your education!! x
wish I would have found this prior to starting a ytt program. Yes the program I am taking does talk a lot about the background of yoga but now about racial problems and trauma. I plan on taking your ytt program along with another specifically for trauma informed yoga as well. Love your content!
The curriculum looks amazing and your intention really shines through. I’ve been on and off the mat for a while but I have been completely immersed for a couple weeks. I’m confident in my commitment to the practice as it’s a huge part of my healing from SA & I feel more safe than I’ve ever felt. Although I don’t have the 1 year requirement would my application be considered ?
This is a great video! I can tell you were intentional with your language, and careful with the way you communicated your message. Do you have any resources to learn more about the history and philosophy in yoga?
Thank you for noticing that because I find that speed in speech can sometimes effect my clarity. The books I'd highly recommend you look into are "The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" and "The Autobiography of a Yogi"
That's a great question & to be honest it fluctuates. I mainly use social media for my work & notice that my consumption is heavier when I'm actively procrastinating. That awareness alone helps me to change the habit when I am doing it. Hopefully that resonates for you as well.
Hello Abiola, does your training cover how to go about the business of yoga? As in how to market yourself and sell yoga services in an ethical and aligned way post training?
Great question! We do have an extension biz of yoga module within the training & 1 of the main things I teach is how to use the power of your story to promote your classes & sell your brand so that you share in a way that’s non-performative. It’s also about providing value to folks as opposed to trying to get them to buy something. I talk about this in the training as well 👌🏾
Completed 200 Hr YTT, but haven’t been active since COVID. Any advice on getting active again? And any advice on how to grow into a more confident yoga teacher and black yogi?
Congratulations on completing your YTT sis!🙏🏽 I would ask how do you want to get active? Do you want to start actively teaching again or build up/expand your personal practice? The more you commit to your continued education & your personal practice, you will naturally become more confident as a teacher, hands down! The most skilled instructors are incredibly well practiced & you can tell. To gain that confidence you gotta commit to your practice & you gotta teach more, specifically different bodies so you’re able to guide various ppl.

Also, how do you balance your spiritual practice with social media content and consumption?
That's a great question & to be honest it fluctuates. I mainly use social media for my work & notice that my consumption is heavier when I'm actively procrastinating. That awareness alone helps me to change the habit when I am doing it. Hopefully that resonates for you as well.
thank you for this information ! is there a deadline for application submissions ?
Hello there. Applications must be submitted by Feb 1st. Look forward to receiving yours
