- J549 is seen hauling the Victorian Goldfields Railway Castlemaine - Maldon and return service on Wednesday the 18th of July 2018.
The Victorian Goldfield Railway is located at Maldon with services running to Castlemaine every Wednesday & Sunday with special Saturday service on School Holidays. The Railway has both Steam and Diesel locomotives. In this video, J549 makes an appearance as the locomotive upfront.

Nah I always used to see this exact train when I used to live in Castlemaine in 2014
How amazingly delightful.
I always feel a railway a deserted railway station like Muckleford can be so serene or even the yards at Maldon.
Never been there and what with he pandemic will probably need a passport to travel in or out of Vic from NSW.
I loved the old tracks at Rutherglen too.
