Your videos motivated me to take the train from Pretoria to Jhb David, it’s really affordable because I paid R7 train fare as opposed to the R60 I normally spend on the taxi. My only issue is you have to connect at Kempton Park, and again at Germiston before your ride gets to Jhb. The train was 2:45 hrs. If they can have a single train traveling all the way from PTA to JHB it would really save a lot of commuting time.
Why must ypu connect in Kempton Park and in Germiston? When I travelled with the train in the 70ties and eighties it was a direct line from Pretoria to Park Station, Johannesburg. These new trains look like they are well maintained. It is such a pity that I cannot travel by train anymore because of my mobility issues.
Your videos about the return of rail services are great. I enjoy them very much. I wish prasa or those in charge could put their foot down on standards. 1. @17:35 Either they automate the whole process or officers checking out tickets when passengers exit should be professional and presentable. 2. @18:13 - 18:20 Hawkers should absolutely not be allowed anywhere near the premises of these stations. They're already in those underground exits!! Unacceptable. Prasa should enforce zero tolerance. 3. Maybe it'll be too costly, however, prasa should consider implementing the maglav technology on those carriages. They're noisy. They look nice on the outside though. All in all, i'm impressed with this first step in restoring rail services.
David can you please do another video on the Ellis Park precinct. I'd like to see if the precinct is still maintained after the incredible work they did for the Springboks vs All Blacks game. Great video once again! I hope all the trains and the stations will be fully functional by the end of next year.
You are lucky. Don't complain about travelling time. Should have been on train. About 40 years ago. Joburg to Pretoria. 2 hours there 2 hours back. Please show some more videos. On train rides. Around Pretoria. I will like that much. Thanks for the video.
can reach 200KM/H which is faster than Gautrain but the current Railway cannot allow it to run at that speed so thats is restricted at 30-60km/h until they maintain the railway.
What joke I have seen what stations look like throughout the country, it is a disgrace. One cannot go by train from joburg to CT, on second thoughts joburg station is a sad place
This is prasa, it operates in 7 metropolis like BRT, (Joburg connects Pretoria, because they are next to each other ). From Joburg to Cape Town, you have to use other train companies
@@Mankind0112 I do understand english, you said "From joburg to Cape Town, you have to use other train companies" and i responding to that, that you'd use PRASA for that. Yes you are right Gautrain is not PRASA,

@ I’m not sure what’s the logic behind it, I think it might be because they are still doing some works on the tracks.
Keep pushing brother and I love your work 🇿🇦
Thank God the trains are back on the tracks very good for our economy.
Yes. I agree that Irene Station. Is a very attractive station
I am impressed and actually amazed that this is working again. Thanks for showing!

Looks like Kloofsig, Kaalfontein, Birchleigh and Jeppe are the closest to reopening. Hopefully some of them will open before the end of this year.

How fast is that train?

Sorry do people still travel on trains???really. How safe is this new. Line and company. Praza. Percentage wise
@Livinginsatv, can you find out from PRASA officials why Nigel - Johannesburg remains dysfunctional yet these new trains are assembled from Nigel?
Can Transnet donate these yellow trains to some African country than let them rot here??
These fake empty trains, I’ve not seen any with real passengers during commuting times
How much do these ‘actors’ get paid - these are NOT people trying to get to work.

Yes you are right Gautrain is not PRASA,
@ Yes, Shosholoza Meyl and Metrorail are separate services, though both are ultimately managed under PRASA
