This was very nostalgic to edit because I filmed this the Spring of 2021 when I was pregnant with my 3rd child…yes, I finally got around to editing it after an entire YEAR 🤣.

I love the fact that you summed up the life of the ukulele player relatively early in the video. "Do I really need another uke? No. Do I want this one? Yes." How many is the right number to have? I've heard it's n+1. I'm at n=2 right now, with a concert and a soprano. Looking around for the next one, maybe that long neck soprano right there! Thank you for your fun and informative videos.

I LOVE Flight travel ukes. The volume and intonation are perfect, so I use them not just for travel. The designs and color choices are great too, as well as the price. They are the best deal going IMHO. I have an Elise Ecklund signature sunset soprano, a Sakura concert with low G strings, and a few others just because.

I have a flight travel who lives in my car. Nice to have something to do when you are waiting for swimming/dance lessons of the kids. Volume is fine. Perfect to strum simple songs. But for fingerpicking and songs with a lot of barre chords, I don't like the low freds and plastic neck.

    Hi Katie,
    I really enjoyed this comparison.
To me the brightest sounding model was the long neck soprano. Which makes sense since it has longer strings with higher tension. I personally think all three models sound better with different strings.
I am looking at an Amara concert model. I purchased the Red and Blue Sopranos for two of my grandkids when each was learning to walk several years ago. I knew they could handle
abuse toddlers could give and still be nice sounding instruments when they are ready to learn to play. The red one has actually been stepped on by adults twice.
Each time the soundboard was badly split and each time I repaired it and touched up the red paint and it still plays great. Worst case scenario, if the soundboard gets terribly damaged, I can replace it.
The ABS portion of these ukuleles is really tough.🙂
My reasoning for getting the Concert Amara would be to have a "gandpa" version of the Sopranos my grandkids have.
    Keep up the great work.🙂

It’s available in the Netherlands. I have the long neck Sakura soprano. I have been wanting to get the concert size but Idont really need another uke…I do love the one I have with Aquila sugar strings.

TUS35 arrived today, with the G tuning gear unable to turn under the pressure of tuning up. I've 5 other ukes, including two Kanile'as, and I've never had that happen. A replacement should be arriving in 3 days (Amazon is great!) - hopefully I won't have to return that one as well.

I was so thrilled to buy a lovely light blue (actually mint colored) flight travel concert Uke on sale under $50 on Amazon. I can’t put it down. 💕It came with Aquila strings..I am struggling with barring chords on this new Flight. I don’t know if it’s me, the ukulele, or the Aquila strings. Would a string change help? What kind of strings would you recommend and can I use a low G of some particular type on a flight travel concert ukulele?

Hello Katie, Thank you again for all the wonderful lessons for the Ukelele. Off the topic question, I'm looking for a beginner tenor Ukelele that comes already with a low G string. I have a tenor Uke but with high G tuning. Do you have any suggestions where to purchase a tenor ukelele that fits my budget beginner that already comes with a low G tuning? Thank you

You can inexpensively buy a single low G Aquila tenor length string at Amazon. That way, you can buy any tenor you can afford.

I'm still a little confused, though I appreciate the video and being able to hear them. But I can't quite figure out what the number means in the model designation. I've got that TUS is Travel Uke Soprano, but Flight makes a 25, 30, 35, 40 and 55 that I know of. Do you know what that means? I was thinking it might refer to the wood for the top, like Cordoba does, but then Flight seems to specify the wood by name, like TUS-55-AMARA. Anybody know the answer?

I bought the long necked soprano. It was the most disappointing uke I have ever bought. Flat sounding, lifeless, low volume. It is the only Uke I have ever returned. I eventually replaced it with an Enya Nova U Soprano. I can only speak for the one I received, but it turned me off to Flight Ukes.
