      I really hope this video helps you. I also made a video a few years ago about 5 different ways to play the E chord. If none of the three from this video work, try the other 5 from this video.

      I've found, by far, that 444x is the absolute easiest E chord to play. With practice you might even be able to do with using only your index finger. Just slide your D chord up two frets, but instead of playing the open A string, you mute it entirely. What you end up with is the notes B E G# x, which is all you need for an E chord.

    Another great video. Lovs that you give people options.
    I still prefer using all 4 strings when playing.
    Also going up the neck it gets thicker so not always easier to play barr chords.

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. I think it depends upon how far up the neck you’re going and what the neck shape is of your ukulele. Many of my students have found a C#m easier than a Bm just because there was less tension. It could vary from person to person and instrument to instrument.

    Great ideas Katie, thanks! Surprised you didn't mention the other "normal" shape of 1042.

      Thanks for watching 😀. I think I did mention that shape in my other E chord video that has 5 other variations that made a couple years ago. I’ll have to look back and check.

    I have a very weird way I play mine. Thumb barres G C and E strings on the 4th fret while my index is on the 2nd fret A string. Sounds cool. Hope it helps

    Katie, the way you described about playing 1x02 E-chord, is not in my opinion right way to do it.
    It is a 2 finger chord. Use only index and 3rd fingers. Don't mute with 2nd, but mute C-string instead with first finger slightly slanted. It is a somewhat of a trick, but trust me it will work fine.
    If you even try mute with second finger, it can bring tension in left hand. Remember fingers are off the string or fretting. Thumb is an exemption maybe :)

    Okay all the teachers have one of these cool ukuleles. Do I need one? What is so unique about it again? Currently have my eyes on a bamboo uke, but this one keeps showing up in tutorials.
