    A little disappointed here not going to lie! The 320 is a very new speaker, the new firmwares could improve some of the issues. Also as you've just got the speaker, the woofers wont have broken in properly, so results could be slightly different in a year or so. I still think it's worth getting the 320 for the new lights and you can swap the battery out once it has degraded. £530 is way too much though when JBL 710 is £599! I thought the 320 would have better deep bass? odd? I waited like a year for this speaker DISSAPOINTED JBL!

      The 710 is currently on sale for $699.99, but I do know at one time it was as low as $599.99. I would say if you don't need the portability of the 320 with it's removable battery, for just around the house where it won't move much, the 710 is a better option for close to the same $$.

    The 310 have 2x 2,5" (65 mm) tweeters compared to 320's 2x 1" (25 mm). That is why the 310 sound way clearer and sharper but also seem to lose a bit mid. Mostly noticeable during singing. For outdoor use though it would be interesting to see maybe the bigger tweeters push better and sounds more balanced when there is more treble. Indoors sure the 320 might be king but if treble is lost outdoors it could be that the 310 still sounds best. Not sure why they went with such a smaller tweeter, it's more than half size.
    Thanks for the comparison.

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews

      The actual tweeter on the 310 is 3/4" and the 320 tweeter is 1". If you go the JBL website it shows a pic of the 320 tweeter pulled out from the cabinet and it's not including the wave guide for the 25mm size. The specs on the 310 tweeter are including the entire surround/wave guide, which is a bit different and larger than that of the 320. The 310 has been notoriously warm, less detailed in the highs unless you boost the treble int he JBL app. which I usually do when listening to the 310. Hope this helps.

    The 320’s sound will change some after it has 40-50 hours of play on it. Maybe you did put some hours on it before the review, but folks have to take that into consideration.

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  5 месяцев назад +3

      If it does change it will be nearly indistinguishable. I went round and round with this break in subject on AVS Forums back in the day with subwoofers. Tests were done and even after many hours, the graph response from the sub was just ever so slightly altered compared to when it had only a few hours of use. The impact would be even less on smaller speakers compared to 12" subwoofers. I've never had any speaker that sounds noticeably different after even years of use and I've been into home theater and stereo for 0ver 30 years. What does change is how your ears hear the speakers if anything.
