Make it where the stronger the enchantment, the lower the success chance, higher cost and include a chance of being destroyed. u can sacrifice an UT item to up ur favor. T1 hp bonus: +10, 100% chance success, 0% chance of being destroyed. T10 hp bonus +100 (+10 hp from T9), 10% success, 45-90% destroyed.
Ore could have been a cool mining side minigame, which could have taken you a massive grind (maybe close to exalting grind time) to level up mining proficiency and be able to mine high tier ores and have bonus rewards for being proficient at it. But now, we just got a paywall.
As far as we were told, the numbers on the enchantments were completely arbitrary on testing, so I pray 🙏 Also, I think I saw DECA say that enchantments will become available for normal characters once they do a stats rework.
Ah man. I’m one of those who’s proud to announce that I play this game, and have been playin’ for 10 years, and I actually try to get people into it. But damn Deca keeps making me doubt all of that. Really hoping they don’t screw this up.
you know, depending on how they handle this it could be bad but what im more concerned with right now is the whole "deleting items because we cant be bothered to fix netcode" thing
I feel like if enchantments dropped randomly with the item it would make it balanced to some degree, deca would still make money off more keys and people would probably clear realms more often for chances at better gear.
I think enchantments could be a perfect way to balance out power creep if items have a fixed number of slots, so worse weapons have more customization and the op ones don't have as much
that's what i was thinking. if the main issue is the best items getting even better, just limit how good they can get, and let worse items reach closer to the base level of those items. solves the main problem with enchantments and makes it easier for newer players
I like the power in the enchantment system because as a non sweat I find end-est game content too difficult and have commented on this in the past. It takes so long to exalt that I mostly want enchant grinding time to make everything more accessible to pub players. Its also better for game longevity to get larger amounts of people putting more time on easier O3, Shatters, and MV
I feel like enchantments could work if they were UNIQUE, and potentially UT only. Perhaps something like a certain debuff is slightly less effective/last for a shorter time, or maybe the weapon shot has a chance to break off into a fragment to a nearby enemy. Of course in order to prevent something like that t12 wand example split the enchantments up into categories; Offensive, defensive, utility and unique, and allow only one of each. Things like added DPS stats or bonus dmg % would of course be offensive, and same goes for the defensive versions. Bonus speed/vit/wis could be under utility, and the previously mentioned example effects I spewed out my ass would fall under unique. Top it all off with making sure items REVERT WHEN THE SEASON IS OVER.
Rotmg could be such a great game, it's literally a gold mine that we can't have. It's so sad cause if Rotmg didn't have bad servers, lag, pay to win, I think many more people would play it and more streamers would be willing to get into it. It could've been a massively known game across the world. Every time I think about the potential this game has that is currently not being achieved it just makes me depressed. Also where do I go to complain? Do I go to Testing Feedback in the discord? The more we complain the better chance we have that they change the update, hopefully. And I feel like even though as a community we already commonly show our complaints about new updates, we don't do it enough. Better yet, what if every Realm Player just stops playing until they stop monetizing everything, then they'll have to fix the problems, right?
Best place is probably realm testing and reddit cause that’s where it would have the highest chance to be seen by devs but maybe it won’t help since there’s no enchantment testing right now
I think It'll be really hard to not make enchantments be either super underwhelming or super gimmicky in what the enchantments actually do while also not introducing absurd amounts of power creep to the game. At the same time, people being too afraid of any amount of power creep might also prevent enchantments from being anything more than minimal stat increases that you won't even be able to notice. It's impossible to make everybody happy with an update as divisive as this and that's the hardest part about balancing something like this. The only thing i hope for is that it isn't as pay to win as other things that deca has added previously but i sadly doubt that.
They are digging their grave so deep, at some point they could go out on the other side (unlikely). At this point make the enemies permanently die and make it paid to respawn them (Obviosly to limit the amount of loot they can drop so people dont get this gear righttt...)
Man, definitely feel you on the front of being embarrassed when you talk about the predatory pay to win monetization lol. Seems like enchantments are going down the same path unfortunately. That being said -- and forgive my optimism -- but maybe the realm rework is more tied into enchantments power creep than we think. They've talked about the rework introducing harder zones, content, and dungeon scaling. Maybe this is just the push and pull effect of player scaling. Either way, still makes sense to be worried considering everything we know. NODDERS
Enchants are always a neat idea, but as someone who like RotMG for it's simpliciy I can't see them fitting into RotMG at all unless the entire game is reworked. They said they're just testing the tech for now and that the balance wasn't considered, and that the realm rework + dungeon difficulties would balance them out, but I can't see that happening
i did some testing with it and the things i soloed because i had a supid amount of DPS plus an ability to heal myself for 300 every like 10 seconds was just dumb
watch as discords change their veteran raiding requirements so you can't just bring an ordinary chrysalis anymore, no, you have to bring a chrysalis with +7 att enchant and +7 dex enchant
it would be so cool to have enchantments already on weapons and them being positive and negative, and deca could make a little bit of money with a mechanic that allows you to reroll the enchantments with a little bit of money
Something cool they could’ve done was made it so that items unlock slots based off of how many enemies you’ve killed, or maybe how many dungeons you’ve cleared while mainly using it. I really hope there are some fun but rare weapon enchantments. Like you attack 5x as fast, but you do 0.25x damage (idk what numbers would be balanced. Maybe your shots can poison enemies, or you shoot double tears with some other negative effect. I really hope there’s some like that rather than only +7 dex/atk
I hate to admit but I think you're completely right... Enchantments themselves is an idea and feature that I want RotMG to have and enjoy just like in other MMO's. But the monetization... It not applying to all items... It being limited behind playing seasonals... Ugh...
a sub-stat of an item like poe or diablo, they should add an npc to reroll the weapon stat, lets say you got a rare ut with a bad sub-stat, you can reroll for a potentially good sub-stat.(the reroll might be a p2w system tho)
Dead right. Updating the realm is the way to go. And given that rotmg is dnd inspired, including race or multiclassing would be the next best new thing
I love the fact that the devs somewhat try to make this game more attractive, only to mess it up by overthinking on how they can make the most money off of it. The players will pay money! Just create stuff that won't let the game get boring or annoying! I gladly pay for chests, char slots or potion stash, because I can use it and it makes my life easier, no more than that. This on is not complicated at all and If they would make other things as least annoying as the chests, etc. the players would gladly buy gold, just to make their experience more enjoyable. I also love how you researched and presented the new update and also came up with other ideas, which might make the experience more enjoyable than their idea. Thanks Seb!
They also should expand their server capacities for the european players. I don't know about the US, etc. but sometimes the EU servers get pretty annoying.
Imagine if they allowed ore drops from endgame dunegons like hardmode shatters can drop a legendary ore and lost halls drops a gold ore so F2P can use them.
I was excited at first since I'm more of a solo/duo player and I've never felt overpowered (since I can't solo the 4 hardest exaltation dungeons just yet) but I realize power creep for more hardcore players will be kinda bad
Idk. As soon as NPCs are involved, i get a bad feeling. And why do they even add enchantments? I think it only makes sense, if they add more endgame dungeons and areas, which have mobs that hit much harder or something. If not, it'll just make the game easier. Maybe it would be better, if the items drop with only 1 enchantment slot and the other slots unlock as you get an certain amount of exp/fame while you have the item equipped.
As a player who has around 10-12k hours at this point I cannot deny that I love the game, at least on a conceptual level. It's so unique and I think it does better than most games in its genre, but I hate to see what DECA is doing with the game when there is so much more potential. I totally agree that they will definitely monetize enchantments, there is absolutely no way they wont. With every newly added feature it feels that the game is just appealing to veteran and whale players, not like they are exactly to blame for that but it's definitely hurting the games potential for growth. Oh and one thing I want to add, I somehow managed to get a set of defensive enchantments on all of my wc assassin gear to the point where I was literally glitching out the game damage. For some reason like 70% of in game shots simply didn't do their proper dmg and just counted as 5. To put this into perspective when I was in moonlight village for example during Miko final I was literally sitting on one of the flowers in the corner of the arena and was taking just 30 dmg while EPing it even though it should like insta kill me in 1-2 EPs. Perfectly Balanced..... Yeah obviously a broken bug but on a more serious note getting an extra para HP's worth for doing dodging phases like patience or Umi lantern phases is absolutely crazy. Like as a player who can for the most part do these phases without really needing HP gear, the current HP gear that is in the game already makes these phases piss easy. Now that you can completely destroy the previous HP limit with enchants, well, even really bad players can just pass with such a huge set of crutches.
What if every item spawned with a negative and positive enchantment like you said. But also in the vault they add a fountain to “cleanse” the item to make it normal with no enchantments
Honestly i dont have much faith in deca these days, But i dont think they'll let enchantments be anywhere near as broken as they are on testing, I imagine they'll nerf the fuck out of it, probably still monetize it though, The REAL question is, What will the gamebreaking bug with enchantments be?, Will it turn your t14 staff into an error item randomly?, delete your vault?, delete your character?, that is what im really looking forward to, Honestly i'm just along for the ride at this point, good or bad
enchantments should be completely random so if you get something thats super crazy thats awesome but you cant craft it or anything like that. maybe they could do an alternate mod system where you can slot in the mods that have downsides
I am not as interested to see what enchantments will look like but rather what bugs that addition will bring to the game and all the reddit posts and memes about it. Now, I don't want bad things to happen to the game, but... it is Deca, there is surely something happening.
theres a private server called Havoc, runs on an old source, and items that drop have a chance of having enchantments, from +1 all the way to +9 for ut items, +10 for Legendaries enchantments just give more stats , like +9 vitality, +80 hp, ofc, its insanely op, but its a private server, who cares, you can reroll the enchantments until you get the upgraded stats that you want and upgrade them up to +10 with items that drop from bosses
@@sebchoof something similar but tuned down ofc would be perfect i think, not the p2w garbage thats about to happen, maybe a level up system for gear, the more you use a weapon the better it gets until a certain cap, or for armors could be damage taken/reducted , im slooowly drifting over to private servers because they look more fun the the actual game at this point
Pay2win or not I really hate locking any mechanics behind seasonal characters & this is way more important than shiny items are. Just serves as a middle finger to anyone that wants to play their own way
my least favorite part of a lot of the newer additions if that they're locked to seasonal characters, like why do shinies need to be seasonal only? Its getting to, or already at, the point where its not worth it to play a normal charcter.
I have to say, i pretty much like to see the enchantment update. For every bad player it means that content will be more accesable i think. Also the new enchantment update is so big, that it means the have to like hotfix statts and stuff. Also the balance system will be implement over time i think.. hopefully. But what disturb me the most is the fact that ppls maybe put enchantmens as requierments of discord runs or something . So overall the update will bring alot of content for me and like a fun time to explore and enchant my items. I never had a T14 Weapon and that means this update could be a possibility to feel like i had one. (maybe) . So if the enchantment system would be totally free to play, more balanced to UT items. I will say this update is a plus to the overall content, cause the majority in the game will not finish the end content and struggle at it. But maybe the update will change my mind on it.
Going to be brutally honest here (This is my opinion, we are all different, take it as you wish), yes, some parts of what's been said to come sounds horrible, and the power increase sounds too drastic, but one part I like about realm is the simplicity, I like seeing a T7 staff when I have a T6 and being like "oh nice, upgrade" and instantly replace my old staff, I don't like the sound of negative effects to "outweigh" the good enchantments, I don't like spending time looking at items, figuring out if I think its actually worse losing 5 defense for +20 HP as an example. What would I do if I were to add an enchantment system to realm? I would make it to where every item has a chance, could be 100%, could be 20% to get an enchantment Keep all the enchantments to change in gameplay type of "buffs", no negative effects, just different enchantments to make most of the same weapon feel different, like you said in the video, a burn on weapons could be one. Another could be manasteal, getting +0.2 mana for every succesful hit with the weapon or similar, lifesteal, healing you for 0.2 for every succesful hit One could add a small "aoe" explosion to the hit, hitting close enemies for 4% of the shots damage Increased projectile speed The list can go on and on, more could be added as time passes, but small fun buffs added to all weapons, make the buffs small enough and hey, maybe a white bag item could have a small chance of getting a 2nd one, maybe the shinies gets 2? Shiny Doombow with projectile speed and the aoe explosion, wouldnt be overpowered, but sure would make it stand out
Actually you do see the "warning away of new players" in many games. MTG, Yugioh, and Hearthstone all have a significant number of players currently doing so due to monetization practices from the parent company. You would also see similar from Fallout 76 and League of Legends, although League is also partially due to toxicity and the addictive game design.
Lost my paladin with my first deca ever and some other good shit when you brought up the sand stole seal I almost cried I had him just at 1105 hp with sandstone equipped
If deca reads this comment section for ideas they will create such an amazing system to attract new players and give older players a reason to keep playing. They would make more money like that in the long run anyways
The second this got announced and I saw the currencies ('dust') I instantly got flashbacks from the Forge update and shit. Yeah all they did the last 2 years is see how they could monetize this content and squeeze every little bit of money out of their remaining playerbase. It's so sad how you come up with an infinitely better system that's also much more simple in a few seconds but DECA fails at basic game design because of their greed. Idk every decision this company makes just makes me so depressed, the game has so much potential but nope it's just doomed
I'm annoyed that they're gated behind seasonals because, guess what? Now I'll have to consider buying very temporary storage space for my characters and invest in an entirely different set of characters. Fuck I hope the realm rework makes me feel better
Yeesh, I love your content seb,, I just started playing this game again after a couple of years off because of your channel.... pretty disappointed with the discord meta but still enjoying seasonal mode. ...i think ppe mode will make me play way more
enhancements seem fine, but it would be better to either have some chance involved in enhancements, or just have flat random roles for every item, one things for sure, having any money associated with it is a very bad move
If it's as p2w as pets I think it's okish if they make content a bit harsher. Also I think they need to make enchant slots and enchants really rare and unpurchaseable
More currencies are a red flag. It will be even more of a problem if content in the game becomes balanced around it. When I say balance, I mean in terms of scale. Let's not beat around the bush here, the purpose of enchantments is to make money off of the players so it is unlikely that the enchantments themselves will be nerfed all that much. Instead, what I see happening here is that, general combat difficulty will scale to match the enchantments where TTK (time to kill) with said scaled content will be on par with current best in slot gear with current content. Instead of an enchantment update making you feel more powerful by using it, you will instead feel weaker if you don't have the enchantments & using the enchantments simply only bring you back up to the power level you were at before the update even occurred except now it's harder to obtain that level of power.
I just wish they do like a random +% -% On items, lets say a +1% +5% dmg aswell as a -1% -5% dmg on weapons. That will make it interesting to farm your fav weapon. Then for the next enhancement you have a random stat effect 3 possitive 3 negative and so on, but locking it to p2w or another npc is imo horibble. Great video as always friend!
wouldn’t it be better to just have them randomize all drops to have a chance of enchantment? Like a rarity on top of the current tiered and UT items? Obviously that could have its own cons but it sounds a lot more fun to go grind out for those enchantments instead of a “work bench” mechanic.
It really would. i dont want to interact with a random npc. I would love it to just be random that my Dbow does 10 extra damage but gives me minus 5 speed
6:25 these HP enchantments make the game be at a state it used to be. Remember when vital combat wasnt a thing? its probably like that. Considering even more dps yea thats a dumb change. But survivability might be a good thing for new players
as someone whos played the game for atleast all of my teenage years and now going into adulthood. seasonal characters are cool but aren't something I feel like playing 24/7. It costs a lot of money especially if most of your sessions are months apart. just worried this may be the start of super pay to win aspects.
I mean let’s be honest, this games economy and play dynamics has always and will always be broken. There’s an incredibly high skill gap and only filthy rich maxed players can increase their wealth because they’re the only ones who are strong enough to do the top dungeons with the best loot. Not to mention the entire game is being held together by a few pay to win players that literally spend thousands of dollars on the game (key poppers). They’re the ones who pop keys constantly for guilds or discord servers but the only way you’re allowed to partake in those dungeons is if you’re already geared enough and maxed enough to be a pro. So what are new players supposed to do? You only get a few character slots and a few chests. How would you even be able to store loot if you got it? And a brand new player would take what, maybe a month to max his first character on their own without paying money, what happens if he just dies. He has to start all over again. It’s just an incredibly pay to win game.
Balancing the stat boosts is pretty easy imo and I don't really worry about that part. I think not making the items drop with enchantments already on them is what makes this really disappointing... Where's the excitement in needing to buy your enchantments??? Make the enchantments have a "negative" side to them. For example, make a weapon enchantment that gives +10 att but -5 to -10 dex. For weapons that decrease firerate (like dbow and ass) this boosts dps while others it may not be as beneficial.
As it stands, it's the most dry, most broken, and most monetized option possible. I really hope they just overhaul the system. I can't imagine it being any fun at all as it stands.
I don't understand the concern about pay2win. You can literally make a 8/8 character in 1-2 days of farming godlands & medium tier dungeons. You can buy almost any high-tier equipment for a bunch of potions. I don't know any other MMORPG game where you can max your character SO fast. Usually it takes months of grinding.
It’s more so the carry over and account bound stuff which I find the worst like vaults and pets that I dislike the most, but getting enchantments right now is sooo much harder than 8/8ing and there’s already some crazy new consumables to speed up the process
The only thing i feel obliged to buy was character slots and chest slots, buying items didnt make any sense taking to consideration that its hardcore and i die such stupid deaths
would be cool if drops had random enchantments on em that weren't too crazy would make farming content more interesting longrun but the fact you can just buy them is dumb
@@sebchoof you dont find it a big deal if deca forces people to buy perm vault space for money so you can stash the like 100 items from a battlepass - you maybe bought? ok
I've put thousands of hours into realm but have been taking a break since late 2021. Can some tell me why they added "Seasonal Characters" and not just give us a "PPE" / "Hardcore" option. I haven't looked into it a lot but this also seems like a monetization thing from them.
@@sebchoof Considering how popular hardcore characters are in Runescape and World of Warcraft. Its actually painful to see Deca ruin such an iconic aspect of MMOS with some mediocre rip off to try and make some quick cash. Also, enchantments being locked being season characters could possibly be the dumbest thing I've heard. Seems like seasonal characters aren't as profitable as Deca would have liked so they're forcing you to make one to get enchantments. (which could also be another big source of monetization)
You mentioned that when new players are asking for advice that they get told to quit and that this is uncommon for other games, but I disagree. Pretty much every multiplayer game I have participated in (League of legends, OSU, Overwatch, Lost Ark, Runescape, Elder scrolls online, etc.) has the same sentiment for various reasons. IMO They are much more popular since the game is better supported in terms of game performance (less lag/crashes), better advertising, and the concept of ROTMG (MMORPG with lots of progression but you lose all progress very regularly) is very unpalatable to most players in the long term. Among most people I have introduced to the game, they get frustrated by the core game loop within a month or two. In terms of your opinions regarding the enchantment update, I think you are pretty spot on though.
playing since 2013 just after it released and im an avid fan of this game, besides it's downsides it's not like it's not playable without paying money, not saying it's a good thing that this game is p2w but its still a whole lotta fun
To be honest i welcome enchants being broken. As long as they keep the engravings? Whatever the ut enchants were good.also enchants cant be ptw. But i mean who doesnt want a 250 total dps stat ninja. If it were up to me keep enchants the way they are except add a debuff. You want +80 hp on that ring? Say goodbye to 5dex! Something like that
i have been grinding for the crown for almost 1 month and got 0 crown. With this update i might get 10 crown in 2 3 day without even grinding. This will kill this game if happen. Because grinding for whites is one of this game's most addicted part.
ubhp would be so much better than deca if this update happened like this because deca is ut so it can only get one buff while ubhp is tiered so it can get 3 buffs!
Enchantments don't even help that much with the BS mechanics that the game has now, as a returning player from a long time ago it feels like you need to throw away characters just to learn to do the stuff that is worth doing and throwing away the time you spent making characters is such a bummer
man its so disappointing how poorly managed this game has been, for so long. Imagine how amazing this game could've been if there were actually competent people in charge for the last almost decade. every time they do a good update they also try to do some stupid bullshit like this
started playing ROTMG when I was in high school (i am 30 now) why have they not come out with a hardcore/challenge mode. I like the idea of enchanting gear, but yeah it should be random to respect the grind. maybe put in something to I've drops a higher chance to have enchantments if you play with mods like upe, and ube mode.
To be honest I don't see a single good thing about enchantments. It is almost 100% going to be pay 2 win. Its boring who wants to farm random ass dust then talk to an npc for your enchantments. And it is wildly unbalanced. They should have just done what seb said at the end, make items drop with a chance of no enchantments or 1 that's a nice little bonus positive and a small negative. Then it would be fun and spice some items up without completely ruining the meta.
Nah this update looks awful, leave the poor realm rework alone, the realm rework looks so fun, let it be fun, no need to add both updates at the same time. If you really wanna make your game worse and turn more ppl away after adding more p2w, that's okay, but do it like a month after realm rework k? Putting them together feels cruel.
Unless they implement literally everything you've mentioned down to the very last point it's gonna push me over the edge to finally leave this shithole lol. Call me a pessimist, but so far the update looks like 5 years of my life down the drain *',:l* I used to love this game so much and it's really upsetting to see how it's falling apart. I know the whole enchanting system is gonna be a part of a bigger update and everything but if it comes out like I think it would, it will pretty clearly show where deca is taking the whole project. (I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist but it would be like a final comfirmation I'd ever need.)
Most insecure and depressed deca hater is at least 10x more confident than the proudest rotmg enjoyer. True statistic, do not question it, based off peer reviewed study with sample data in the 5 digits
ever since they first announced enchantments i was hoping it would just add variety to the existing drops making each UT or even tiered item somewhat different from each other. But no seems like its just gonna be a super lame money making machine
Am I overeacting??? What do you think about the enchantment update? Comment below
I agree
Yes
nah our not overreacting
Make it where the stronger the enchantment, the lower the success chance, higher cost and include a chance of being destroyed. u can sacrifice an UT item to up ur favor.
T1 hp bonus: +10, 100% chance success, 0% chance of being destroyed.
T10 hp bonus +100 (+10 hp from T9), 10% success, 45-90% destroyed.
Pretty cool idea!
Ore could have been a cool mining side minigame, which could have taken you a massive grind (maybe close to exalting grind time) to level up mining proficiency and be able to mine high tier ores and have bonus rewards for being proficient at it. But now, we just got a paywall.
True xD that’s actually such a good idea
Bro we dont need more shit grind in this game.
@@Chuckystabetter then a paywall
Absoultely agreed. There are many ways to make it so fun to play, and yet we have to pray for it not to be what it could become
Enchants have the possibility to be fkin amazing... or be a disaster

Also, I think I saw DECA say that enchantments will become available for normal characters once they do a stats rework.
A stats rework might actually make this update tolerable

Oh yeah the reverting items would be a good idea if they keep it so broken :D

Crossing fingers hard it’s not pay to win!!
They are digging their grave so deep, at some point they could go out on the other side (unlikely). At this point make the enemies permanently die and make it paid to respawn them (Obviosly to limit the amount of loot they can drop so people dont get this gear righttt...)
I would love those updates!!
Yeahhh it’s too hard to make them work unless they do the stat rework
i did some testing with it and the things i soloed because i had a supid amount of DPS plus an ability to heal myself for 300 every like 10 seconds was just dumb
Yeahh was crazy :D though the prod numbers will definitely be less than testing
Someone should make a documentary on this game and the player base. It’s very unique
yes like the smash docu
watch as discords change their veteran raiding requirements so you can't just bring an ordinary chrysalis anymore, no, you have to bring a chrysalis with +7 att enchant and +7 dex enchant
Oh god xD
I like the idea of enchantments, they seem too powerful, and they definitely should not be locked to seasonal.
it would be so cool to have enchantments already on weapons and them being positive and negative, and deca could make a little bit of money with a mechanic that allows you to reroll the enchantments with a little bit of money
That’s an awesome idea tbh
I hate to admit but I think you're completely right... Enchantments themselves is an idea and feature that I want RotMG to have and enjoy just like in other MMO's. But the monetization... It not applying to all items... It being limited behind playing seasonals... Ugh...
a sub-stat of an item like poe or diablo, they should add an npc to reroll the weapon stat, lets say you got a rare ut with a bad sub-stat, you can reroll for a potentially good sub-stat.(the reroll might be a p2w system tho)
it's going to change the complexity of the gear system and I think it'll actually be really good when it comes out
Appreciate the kind words :)
Lmao that’s insane wtf, I didn’t see the defensive enchants pushed to the limit only the damage
A bug that lets you damage enemies from the beach please!
enchantments should be completely random so if you get something thats super crazy thats awesome but you cant craft it or anything like that. maybe they could do an alternate mod system where you can slot in the mods that have downsides
When an item drops it should have an echantment. It would make the game so versatile
Agreed!!!
Yeahh it makes more sense in a private server for sure xD
@@sebchoof something similar but tuned down ofc would be perfect i think, not the p2w garbage thats about to happen, maybe a level up system for gear, the more you use a weapon the better it gets until a certain cap, or for armors could be damage taken/reducted , im slooowly drifting over to private servers because they look more fun the the actual game at this point
I already have one foot out the door
Don’t leave me my love…
@@sebchoof🥲
Pay2win or not I really hate locking any mechanics behind seasonal characters & this is way more important than shiny items are. Just serves as a middle finger to anyone that wants to play their own way
my least favorite part of a lot of the newer additions if that they're locked to seasonal characters, like why do shinies need to be seasonal only? Its getting to, or already at, the point where its not worth it to play a normal charcter.
It would be nice if you could use fame for stuff like slots and that, like how you can buy blueprints with fame
BTW THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST REALM RELATED VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN !!!!!
I love u man
@@sebchoof BIG FAN !!!
I would make it to where every item has a chance, could be 100%, could be 20% to get an enchantment
Keep all the enchantments to change in gameplay type of "buffs", no negative effects, just different enchantments to make most of the same weapon feel different, like you said in the video, a burn on weapons could be one.
Another could be manasteal, getting +0.2 mana for every succesful hit with the weapon
or similar, lifesteal, healing you for 0.2 for every succesful hit
One could add a small "aoe" explosion to the hit, hitting close enemies for 4% of the shots damage
Increased projectile speed
The list can go on and on, more could be added as time passes, but small fun buffs added to all weapons, make the buffs small enough and hey, maybe a white bag item could have a small chance of getting a 2nd one, maybe the shinies gets 2?
Shiny Doombow with projectile speed and the aoe explosion, wouldnt be overpowered, but sure would make it stand out
Yeahh agreed could be make to be a lot more interesting and balanced it’s just tough to put in the game right now
Actually you do see the "warning away of new players" in many games. MTG, Yugioh, and Hearthstone all have a significant number of players currently doing so due to monetization practices from the parent company. You would also see similar from Fallout 76 and League of Legends, although League is also partially due to toxicity and the addictive game design.
Oh yeah my bad
Lost my paladin with my first deca ever and some other good shit when you brought up the sand stole seal I almost cried I had him just at 1105 hp with sandstone equipped
Jeez :o
If deca reads this comment section for ideas they will create such an amazing system to attract new players and give older players a reason to keep playing. They would make more money like that in the long run anyways
yeah so true, forgot to mention that they should abandon their strategy of maximizing income from existing users instead of trying to grow
12:18 wow what a cool game, surely it isn't dead and is updated frequently
Lmaoooo, SOON
The second this got announced and I saw the currencies ('dust') I instantly got flashbacks from the Forge update and shit. Yeah all they did the last 2 years is see how they could monetize this content and squeeze every little bit of money out of their remaining playerbase. It's so sad how you come up with an infinitely better system that's also much more simple in a few seconds but DECA fails at basic game design because of their greed. Idk every decision this company makes just makes me so depressed, the game has so much potential but nope it's just doomed
Realm rework is promising :D
@@sebchoof Ye I probably come back to play for that and then quit a few weeks later cuz of enchants :D
@@sebchoofcame back for realm rework and its so fun. And as u predicted enchanting sucks ass and is just another way for DECA to monetize whales lmao
I'm annoyed that they're gated behind seasonals because, guess what? Now I'll have to consider buying very temporary storage space for my characters and invest in an entirely different set of characters. Fuck I hope the realm rework makes me feel better
The temporary storage is so yuck
Yeesh, I love your content seb,, I just started playing this game again after a couple of years off because of your channel.... pretty disappointed with the discord meta but still enjoying seasonal mode. ...i think ppe mode will make me play way more
Oh yeah ppe mode would be great
enhancements seem fine, but it would be better to either have some chance involved in enhancements, or just have flat random roles for every item, one things for sure, having any money associated with it is a very bad move
I think it would be cool if the enchantments were kind of like the terraria enchantments. And they can be really good or they can be just really bad
Thanks mate :)
wouldn’t it be better to just have them randomize all drops to have a chance of enchantment? Like a rarity on top of the current tiered and UT items? Obviously that could have its own cons but it sounds a lot more fun to go grind out for those enchantments instead of a “work bench” mechanic.
Agreed!
True but enchantments arent really accessible to new players
as someone whos played the game for atleast all of my teenage years and now going into adulthood. seasonal characters are cool but aren't something I feel like playing 24/7.
True!!!
quit a few months ago, im an atheist but im praying for you guys. good luck
Thankyou!!!
Imagine paying 10€ for items that drop from O2 kek
In a game that charges you 2 dollars to buy a key for a single dungeon run, it's so obvious that anything they will do will be stupidly money hungry.
yeah shame ;/
would be cool if drops had random enchantments on em that weren't too crazy would make farming content more interesting longrun but the fact you can just buy them is dumb
Can you also make a video about the for some players even worse update coming, the gift chest update?
Absolute agree on this one
That one isn’t as big of a big deal but it is a shame
@@sebchoof you dont find it a big deal if deca forces people to buy perm vault space for money so you can stash the like 100 items from a battlepass - you maybe bought? ok
I mean it is a big deal it’s just not something I can make a video about really :P
To be honest, pretty much since 2013 people have been embarassed to admit they like/play realm
ROTMG is slowly turning into the dankest private server ever
I've put thousands of hours into realm but have been taking a break since late 2021. Can some tell me why they added "Seasonal Characters" and not just give us a "PPE" / "Hardcore" option. I haven't looked into it a lot but this also seems like a monetization thing from them.
Yeahh I think they made that decision cause it’s easier to monetise unfortunately
Oh yeah not that I think about it you’re right my bad xD
playing since 2013 just after it released and im an avid fan of this game, besides it's downsides it's not like it's not playable without paying money, not saying it's a good thing that this game is p2w but its still a whole lotta fun
why enchantments only on seasonal..
The green dust looks like a minecraft emerald
TRUE
To be honest i welcome enchants being broken. As long as they keep the engravings? Whatever the ut enchants were good.also enchants cant be ptw. But i mean who doesnt want a 250 total dps stat ninja. If it were up to me keep enchants the way they are except add a debuff. You want +80 hp on that ring? Say goodbye to 5dex! Something like that
i have been grinding for the crown for almost 1 month and got 0 crown. With this update i might get 10 crown in 2 3 day without even grinding. This will kill this game if happen. Because grinding for whites is one of this game's most addicted part.
damn, and i just came back because of the realm announcement
might just quit again if this gets pushed out
Probably won’t, hopefully :D
ubhp would be so much better than deca if this update happened like this because deca is ut so it can only get one buff while ubhp is tiered so it can get 3 buffs!
I was just barely starting to get into Realm again, this is just screaming "it's time to monetize/p2w" from them from all sides
looks like it might actually not be p2w but we'll see :D
Enchantments don't even help that much with the BS mechanics that the game has now, as a returning player from a long time ago it feels like you need to throw away characters just to learn to do the stuff that is worth doing and throwing away the time you spent making characters is such a bummer
we all remember the JoshStrifeHayes vid
Yep xD
How hard is to listen to the players, I wouldn't mind being ripped off by Deca if they actually just listened to the players.
What is dumb is that it’s locked behind seasonnal
It won't be
i hope they scrap this idea and just bring in a mark storage spot. id pay 20$ just to hoard my marks
man its so disappointing how poorly managed this game has been, for so long.
Yeahh ur right I wish they did
Every time deca releases an update it becomes i'm reminded that they're a mobile company. The monetization is a joke.
This game is over-saturated with monetization so adding more is just ridiculous
Yeah :(
Great video Seb, your takes are 100% on point.
Ty!!!
Yeahh I’m so hype for realm rework but not enchantments :P
Unless they implement literally everything you've mentioned down to the very last point it's gonna push me over the edge to finally leave this shithole lol. Call me a pessimist, but so far the update looks like 5 years of my life down the drain *',:l*
I used to love this game so much and it's really upsetting to see how it's falling apart. I know the whole enchanting system is gonna be a part of a bigger update and everything but if it comes out like I think it would, it will pretty clearly show where deca is taking the whole project. (I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist but it would be like a final comfirmation I'd ever need.)
Crossing my fingers that they don’t!!
I haven't even played this game in months lmao. I still watch these vids tho.
Appreciate it :)
I find it kinda silly that some enchantments are damage based, in a game where you really can't take damage lol
What?
Most insecure and depressed deca hater is at least 10x more confident than the proudest rotmg enjoyer. True statistic, do not question it, based off peer reviewed study with sample data in the 5 digits
So true….. I read the articles
If enchantments are p2w we should boycott 🙏🙏
ever since they first announced enchantments i was hoping it would just add variety to the existing drops making each UT or even tiered item somewhat different from each other. But no seems like its just gonna be a super lame money making machine
We can only hope!!!
rotmg is not the same anymore.
should have just done the same as what rotf did......
