  • "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty talks with two Missouri men, Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson, who have served a combined 70 years in prison for murders most people now believe they did not commit. And yet, even though prosecutors have called for their release, innocence may not be enough to earn them their freedom - both men are still behind bars. So, what's going on in the state of Missouri?

I'm truly shocked ! And clearly the people in power won't rectify the mistake. On top of their life being stolen they will see no money if and when they get out just to have a shot of enjoying the rest of their life. Justice is not blind in this case it's stupid !

The U. S. Supreme court will hear these cases and the wrongs will be corrected. Allowing civil lawsuits against communities, prosecutors, police, and their estates will solve these wrongfully convicted prosecutilons.

This is cruel and unusual punishment! We [the state] know you didn’t do it, the evidence shows you didn’t do it, we admit all that but we’re going to keep you in prison. This is a violation of their rights.

The president can only pardon federal crimes, these people would have to get a pardon from their governor. And don’t count on it when the innocent men are black Americans in a Republican state.

What a nightmare & total breach of trust. How can officials in the justice system ignore the mistaked & resulting injustice, they themselves, are responsible for & where involved in? The officials are responsible for honorable & correcting the mistakes made within the system, district attorney's office & the Penitentiary system. There has to be repercussions for officials who allow such an injustice to be perpetuated without any intention of correcting & freeing those prisoners/citizens who are wrongfully convicted. Those officials are corrupting "the spirit of our judicial systems" & breeding hopelessness & mistrust in the citizens who are discovering the official's dishonorable & duplicitous actions & inaction.
