She wanted mercy, without admitting fault! The jury got this 100% right!
Her weasel lawyer badgered the victims family, and objected to their victims impact statements! The way he objected to his mother giving a timeline, was despicable!
His mother's statement about the murderer texting the victims mother about "government contracts", while her son lay dying in ICU, told me she was involved with the ponzi scheme; and may have been more involved, than the victim! For her not to admit her involvement, or ask for forgiveness, shows what a liar she is! Her mother still believes she wasn't involved, and that someone else stole their money! First she stole over $250,000 from her own parents, then she likely asked them to buy her house, so the government wouldn't seize it! Even then she was scheming and lying to her parents, who seemingly thought she could do no wrong!

It suddenly occurs to me the ability to check yourself with some limits and some morality is important in this society where you get away with almost anything. She had no ability to have any morality. Taking a guilty plea could have saved her life and set her free in her early 50s, she was unable to even check herself with that reality. Something went very wrong inside of her long ago.

I was a juror here in Raleigh Co. last summer. You are on the list for a set amount of time, and can be called back to be selected for another case. However, it was explained to us, that they almost never pick someone who has already recently served as a juror. You can let them know you recently served, and they will excuse you.

Why would the judge not release the jury until May? Why would they have to be available for any other trials so soon? Unless they are paid the equivalent to what they normally earning ,it strikes me as unfair that they should lose out further financially. Also , it is mentally and emotionally taxing on the jurors and their families.
