  • While listening to her son’s virtual Yom Kippur service, Ruth Brandspiegel heard the name of an old friend, Sasha Eisenberg, from the displaced person’s camp she lived at with her family in Austria. After the story of the two reconnecting made headlines, another child from the camp was also able to reunite with the pair.

    After 9 years of losing touch, I reunited with my friend from High School, (not knowing that he had a crush on me then.) When we saw each other again, it’s as if no time had gone by at all and we picked up where we left off. We have been married for 9 years now and share two kids. I’m a big believer in fate.

      Cwayzums I reunited with one of my friends from childhood. He was 3 years older than me so I was kinda a little sister figure to him, but I had a massive crush on him as a kid. When I was about 17 we saw each other again. I was kinda nervous. When he walked in, we both got these huge dorky smiles and hugged, and it was like no time had passed at all. Just right back to being good friends. I have pretty bad social anxiety, yet when me and him reunited there was no social anxiety. Just as comfortable around him as I’d always been. It’s cool how that happens.

    • @cwayzums
      @cwayzums 3 года назад +6

      @@BMarie774 Aww that's a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing it. Funny you should say that you were a little sister figure to him, because my husband then was a "little boy" to me so I never looked at him "that way," but sure enough, time had gone by and he grew into this mature man that I quickly fell in love with. Time has a funny way with us sometimes and true friendships are meant to always be ignited through time.

      @@cwayzums what does this comment have anything to do with the video? Not criticizing you but I’m genuinely curious what made you type out your love life in the comment section of a holocaust remembrance video 😂

    • @cwayzums
      @cwayzums 3 года назад +10

      @@yunggatz6638 Wow you really don’t see the connection here huh? That’s too bad. Well, let me explain why I shared my story. Obviously it has nothing to do with the holocaust, but more to do with a bond between two people and even though time has separated them, it is also through time that they have reunited. Their story is so beautiful that I felt compelled to share my own. After high school, my husband served in the U.S. Navy overseas as I went to college and I believe that the timing was perfect when we reunited again as he is now a veteran and we are raising our children together. Otherwise, a long distance relationship would probably not have worked out as we were also very young back then. My point is, timing is everything. My respect and love go out to all the victims (and their families) of the Holocaust and forgive me if I seem a little bit selfish in sharing my own story, but nowadays, we all need to read stories of love, encouragement and hope. I hope this explains it for you. Have a great day.

      Thanks a lot my sister. Just remember that one day we will all face our creator no matter what religion, race, color, or power. In front of him we will be judged by our actions only. The ones who caused pain to my Jewish sisters and brothers will pay heavily trust me. The Russians murdered over 4 million innocent women and children in Afghanistan. Your pain is our pain.
      Here is one of my favourite stories about Prophet Muhammad. It is noted in a hadith that he and several of his companions were sitting down along a street in Medina. Suddenly, a companion spotted a funeral procession approaching the group. In respect of the dead human body, Muhammad stood up as the procession crossed in front of him. At that moment, a companion, who was still sitting down, said to the Prophet, "This is a funeral of a Jew. He is not a Muslim." Upon hearing these words, Muhammad became upset and said to the companion, "Is he not a human soul?" The message here is clear: Prophet Muhammad respected human beings irrespective of their religion. He taught mankind that every human soul is important, whether alive or dead. This is Muhammad’s concept of dignity. He defended humanity.

He did not talk about it with his children; he did tell me about and it was like walking into a nightmare that he could not wake up from. My late mother who was Jewish was placed in a bomb factory and she met my father after the Nazis were defeated. She lost 2/3's of her family, her mother, brother and two aunts were the only ones that survived. The rest of her family persisted in a concentrated camp, it still is overwhelming to know what happened in my family.
