  • Alright, so my usual M.O. with these videos is short, sweet and to the point. The extra fluff on videos annoys me too so I’m going to hop right in to the tutorial. If you are watching this because you are planning to upload your book soon, or you are literally trying to upload it right now then be sure you have these elements ready to go:
    Formatted ePub or .docx file
    Ebook cover
    ISBN
    Book Description
    Categories & Keywords
    Prices
    My eBook was formatted by Formatted Books and it looks amazing and was approved right away. Check out their cover design and formatting services here: formattedbooks...

    • @1MKWilliams
      @1MKWilliams  2 года назад +1

      The previewer is giving you font choices because readers can edit the fonts as they read on a kindle or with the kindle app. You should set the format that you want in formatting (in Vellum) and that is the default for the file. Usually an easy to read font like Times New Roman is the best. Not very "designy" but it is easy on the eyes. Best of luck!

    I uploaded my ebook to KDP successfully (yay) but then found a couple mistakes so want to reupload the edited version. My publication date is in the future so it lets me 😮‍💨 BUT my question is: will the revised upload be re-shared to other platforms or will the other platforms (distributors?) keep the original ebook with errors?
    Actually same goes for Ingram - I have to reupload the edited paperback too and hope the other channels that it distributes to get the correct new edited version also? 🙏🙏🙏

    • @1MKWilliams
      @1MKWilliams  2 месяца назад +1

      KDP only distributes to Amazon for eBooks so your updated eBook file on KDP just goes to Amazon. You will have to make sure the final version is uploaded 5 days before launch or your pre-order can be cancelled. For Ingram it can take up to 6 weeks for all the metadata to get to every retailer so upload the revised file as soon as you can but make sure it is final-final.

      Amazon prefers to use the ASIN when looking for any item on their retail platform. It is proprietary to their store.

    Can you edit a book once it is uploaded. Instead of going back to my formatter, can I edit from the previewer that finds misspellings.

    • @1MKWilliams
      @1MKWilliams  2 года назад

      I don't believe so unless you have the source file to edit from and then you would have to resave in the correct format. Some formatters do not charge for small revisions under a certain amount or only a small fee for typo corrections. Best to ask them what their policy is.
