Thanks for pinning my comment, Zack! I am Giovanni, a 15-year-old obsessed with cars. I love watching your car reviews and prior to you uploading this video I was quite interested in the caprice taxis in New York City, I always thought they were cool. @@RustyZipper Oh my goodness! That's incredible man! The Caprice 9C1s are incredible. I find them just as iconic as the crown victorias in my mind. I love cars I'm a big fan of so many of them, I'm not a fan of fancy sports cars, been more interested in 80s, 90s, and 2000s economy vehicles, and the idea of modding them i love too. My dream car is my mom's Nissan Sentra from 2006. She passed away in 2015 when I was just 6 years old, and my father drove the car up until he got a new silver Audi Q3. The nissan was sold through CarMax. He told me that mom would have wanted us to be safer on the road and that it was the right decision, and I don't disagree, the Audi has many great safety capabilities, but something about the Nissan and its memories still gets to me. I found the crash test video for the nissan from the IIHS and it got a high acceptable rating, and I also found out that even the sportier nissan Santras from the same year are selling for around the 1,500 USD mark, and my mom's car not being the more expensive sporty model, I estimate I can buy it for around 1K. My dad knows the buyer who CarMax found for the car, so when I'm older I hope to buy it back! The car has only one minor accident when my mom backed into a tree when dropping me off at kindergarten years back 😂. That's my story, but I wish you great luck with your amazing Caprice 9C1! What a unique vehicle! :D

Zack, The Caprice and Roadmaster were the last real American station wagons. They had V8s, power to the rear wheels and a FULL FRAME underneath. Best of all, they had enough cargo room to carry a full sheet of PLYWOOD when the second row and third rows were folded away. Try doing that in one of today's silly CUVs. 🤩🤩

The 305 is definitely a bit sad in terms of power for carrying this behemoth around. I would imagine with 8 people and their crap on the roof, you weren't getting anywhere fast. The LT1 in the 94-96 really makes these cars quick for what they are.
At least it's an improvement over the Olds 307 in the 80s custom cruiser wagons. You hit the gas, some noise happens, and you kinda move forward a little bit faster than you were before

Nice ride. You can see the 90s smoothed-over 80sness of the interior. Everyone wants the later ones with the LT1 but this looks like a big comfortable cruiser too. Bring back color-matched interiors.
Carmakers ultimately build what customers will buy. If customers shunned minivans and SUVs in favor of wagons, carmakers would have figured out how to make wagons meet requirements. Customers chose SUVs like the Blazer, Tahoe/Suburban, Explorer, Durango, and so on. Carmakers won't build what won't sell and they can't force buyers to buy something.

It's interesting that you mentioned the Holden Caprice, Zack. I'm Aussie (living in Mindanao Philippines now), but I remember the Caprice name was on the Holden models larger than the Commodore. The use of the Caprice name dated back to the Holden Statesman models in the eighties and nineties. I'm not surprised to learn that the Caprice found its way to the USA. Holden ceased production in Australia in 2017, but the Commodore and related models are popular, as is also the case with the Aussie Ford Falcon models, which ceased production in Australia in 2017 as well. All cars sold in Australia are now imported. I saw a Facebook friend of mine (a best friend of mine from my school days) post about the Bathurst 1000 km motor race last weekend. The post showed a Ford Mustang as the Ford Motorsport "01" car, which was previously an Aussie Ford Falcon GT. It's interesting, because before Ford Australia developed performance versions of the Falcon, the original Ford Mustang was actually the car of choice for Motorsport in Australia. I have to say that I loved to see the large wagons.
