The fact that Ryan mentioned Patrice Lumumba and Mzee Jomo Kenyatta makes me so proud of him as an African. It’s not often that our incredible leaders that truly changed not only their nations but Mama Africa as a whole are praised. I think African Americans have a tone of role models and leaders to look up to but branch out to your mother land and you will find a plethora of people like you that achieved such great feats. And as someone who was born and raised in the continent and have visited since migrating to the west, I truly encourage you to visit if you can! I promise you that it will be life changing and you will realise that no other place on this earth is like Mama Africa 💕

That guy looted so much and left many Kenyans as suffering squatters after he grabbed public land and stole so much from public coffers and they still do so to this day. Ignore that part and instead research and teach your kids about Thomas Sankara, Kwame Nkuruma, Tom Mboya (He's the reason y'all had a great black president), J.M. Kariuki, Winnie Mandela, Steve Biko, Mekatili wa Menza and Julius Nyerere. Those are the true freedom fighters we are proud of.
