- We had a only a day to explore and tour Salem, Massachusetts, the town of the famous Salem Witch Trials. In our short time, we spent most of the time exploring the famous "witch" cemetery. Better known as The Old Burying Point Cemetery, also known as the Charter Street Cemetery. The cemetery and Witch Trial memorial is the oldest maintained cemetery in Salem, and among the oldest in the United States. We will also had lunch in one of the best restaurants in Salem, Mass. #Salem #Massachusetts #witchtrials

Wow, this was so fun to watch!! Being a fan of spooky stories, the paranormal and history Salem has always been high on my list of dream vacations. lol Thanks for the walk through of that old cemetary and for showing us the witch memorial Stones. What a wild time in history and those poor people were certainly wronged. I bet the energy was intense there! Taking note to stop in at Turner's seafood when we finally get to go there ourselves!! Now I'm craving clam chowder!! Great video!! 🪦🪦👻👻👍🏻👍🏻

If you go take the trolley especially on a day where you're walking alot. Trolley tours whole parameter of salem; plus you can get on/off anytime day you purchased ticket for. Gulu gulu cafe, reds, ugly mug, caramel and lobster shanty are awesome resturants but there are many more. Ferry is great to get to Boston and back. Cheapest ways to get around is Uber subway and walking. Parking can get expensive and unless you've driven in NY, or detroit it's a little crazy😂. Lastly flights are usually cheap unless on west side of u.s. and youtube or research where you want to visit in salem. Some places need reservations and FYI schedule your trip close to year in advance hotels fill quick. Closer to Halloween the longer the lines. I suggest summer around 4th July or later Aug or Sept.

Salem has such a tragic history. I enjoyed the tour through the graveyard and seeing the headstones. I agree, they really had an artistic style to them back in the day.

I haven’t been to Salem in over ten years and would absolutely love to visit again!! Such an amazing spot. Definitely some strange residents though hahaha! Salem is absolutely incredible. So cool that you did a graveyard tour! Wow!!
So incredible to see gravestones of people from the 1600s, so sad they were hanged some of them for belief of witchcraft. I love seeing the flowers laid down for them. Pressed to death gave me goosebumps 😢 so scary. This was really fascinating to watch. I was also surprised at how many men, I guess I just assumed it was mostly women. Thanks for sharing with us, this was really interesting!
We really enjoyed our short time there. The one who was pressed was a young boy. So sad
Those headstones look almost fake because of how old they are. When people make fake graveyards for Halloween, those are the type of headstones they use, so it has a haunted house vibe to it. I don't think I have ever seen so many people in a graveyard at one time. It's sad when you think about the things they did at that time. Ugh, pressed to death seems horrible. Very interesting tour, I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!!

This was a sad chapter of history. What happened in Salem in the late 1600s is fascinating to study though. This was a nice memorial to those who were executed. It is interesting how that history is so tied up in the town's identity to this day generations later. Thanks for sharing your day in Salem with us!

Salem would be a fascinating place to visit. Boston also has some very old cemeteries, and they have one of the best ghost tours I've ever been on. We also appreciate cemeteries because it helps to give perspective on life.

We really liked Salem but were there when it was crazy busy so would love to go back. The memorial is beautiful. The idea that you could get someone hanged just by saying they were a witch is scary and sad. Gaol is a jail, we see it a lot over here in the UK from victorian jails. I always want to pronounce it differently because it looks weird! Thanks for the tour, enjoyed this.
I still am not sure how to pronounce it. It's the first time I've ever seen the word.
@@ColoradoMartini I just visited Northern Ireland with a friend and kept wanting to say go-elle or something but it's just jail. Pronounced the same way. It must be the Victorian spelling and for some reason it's changed?? Odd, I know!

Many of the coolest (and most ancient) cemeteries are in the northeastern states. My family is from Maine (though I have lived in Virginia for many years.) Planning another roadtrip up north to do some graveyard videos. Thanks for showing us Salem!

I can’t believe I missed this video, I would love to go to Salem, that cemetery was very interesting. I think the story of Salem is fascinating and very sad at the same time. Those memorial slabs were very cool. I wish they did something like that here in England 😊 great video guys

I went to Salem around 1996 with some friends and we didn't see this, but after watching this, I wish we had. We went to the Salem Witch Museum and to The House of the Seven Gables House. Very interesting! We had lunch at the restaurant in the Hawthorne Hotel. Thanks for sharing!

I bet they do. My girls are in their twenties. Grew up with Hocus pocus. And they've been wanting to go to Salem their entire lives because of it. Still haven't taken them though
