Today we're delving deep into history. Not only are we viewing a beautiful, primitive 1600's Red Saltbox Home, but we are also learning about the owner, Rebecca Nurse who was wrongfully accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Hysteria of 1692. It's a sad story and a gripping one. Join me!

I have visited the Rebecca Nurse home and it is both beautiful and chilling. My heart broke for the haunting cruelty endured by so many.
Thank you so much for this! I am a homeschool mom in Texas and we have been studying the Salem witch trials for the month of October. This was a great way to visit Salem without being able to physically go there! I also loved the history lesson you included!
Hi Ashley! So glad it was so useful! It was fun to put together!
Thank you Anne for shedding some light on this dark time in history. It is a reminder of how we can affect each other just based on emotions. Hopefully we can really listen to your story and learn from it.
Thank you Marie. It is a very good lesson for us. That was a dark time.
Excellent job Anne! Thank you!
I really enjoyed this history video!
Very informative. Thank you so much for sharing. It is so tragic how ignorance plays a part in so much of history.
It really is so tragic - it was all ignorance and superstition and it turned into a disaster!
This was wonderful!!! Love her home and everything in there !!! Thanks Anne!!!!
I know! Such a beautiful place!
I saved watching this until Halloweenie Day!
Great video.
Went to Salem 39 years ago right before my son was born...
Thank you also for ending with supporting one another, understanding, dignity and respect.
Thank you Gail! It seemed fitting. When I think about how that community tore each other apart. I think it took generations for them to start to heal.
Wonderful video! Thank you so much for diving into this subject. I can't wait to hear more after you read your books. I love history and will endeavor to learn more on this subject, as well. ❤
Thank you! There’s a lot written about it now. I have books from Salem and CT.
Thank you for a great video. It is so informative and filled with information that many may not have known. you have given a personal explanation and allowed us to see the history of living in that time period. Thanks again.
You’re very welcome!!
Thank you for this wonderful video and message.
You are so welcome
Thank you Anne for the great video and history of Rebecca Nurse. So sad. 😢
You’re welcome and so very sad…
Thank you for taking us along the way! This was great! ❤
Thank you so much!
Wonderful story.
So enjoyed this! From the looks of the homestead Rebecca seemed to be an awesome lady . Would love to have talked with her about her life
I’m watching the PBS show and they portrayed her as a very sweet, somewhat naive woman.
Anne, this was so well done! You did a wonderful job showing us information on Rebecca Nurse. Thank you!
Thank you Barbara!
Thanks Anne, this was so interesting and scary at the same time! Those poor innocent people being put to death just because someone said they were a witch!
I know! Terrible!
Great story. Love this series
Thank you!

MIne, too! Hello, cousin!
Rebecca nurse mother is my 16th great-grandmother
This was a great video Anne! Very informative, and some great eye candy! ❤
Thank you Debbie!
Fantastic video Anne and the story was great.
Thank you Andy!!
Thank you. Very interesting
Interesting! Thanks for the tour and the history lesson. I can’t imagine living the life of early settlers and going through what these people did.
We have it so good!
Or what these early settlers put the Indigenous Native tribes through as they swindled and stole their lands after the tribes helped them initially survive
Great video Ann very interesting story thank you for sharing ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it Dawn!
So interesting Anne. You are a great storyteller, happy Halloween 🎃

Very interesting story Anne Thanks for sharing and Happy Halloween 🎃
Happy Halloween Deborah!
I just found out Rebecca nurse mother is my 16th great-grandmother so Rebecca, Mary Esty and Sarah Cloyce were sisters from the Towne family of Topsfield are related to me
Wow!
My family is originally from this area so this is a treat! My grandmother claimed we are descended from Salem witches 🤫
Hi Kim… oh wow… how sad.
Hi Kim, it's fairly easy to do genealogy these days, I'd encourage you to explore it!
Great video, Anne. ♥Too many innocent people tortured and put to death when it was hard enough just to survive. History of people's behavior does not match the charm of the homes, goods and furniture of those times.
So true right - we have a romanticized view of the times but man - hard lives!
What did the nurse family do with 300 acres? We have a salt box house like this in greenfield village in Michigan. Absolutely beautifil
They were farmers. Also, “husbandry,” which, I believe is raising farm animals.
I wonder if the descendants of the Putnams are around. They are probably very sad about everything.
Evil ppl will always be here. Very sad.
