Though he didnt score or assist, he was the best player in the pitch vs Brazil. Literally toyed with our defenders, holded the ball when needed. It was a pain for us. As a brazilian, losing that match was very painful, because we had a lot of chances, and Courtois played a great game, but fair play to Belgium, they played very well and deserved the win.

French fan here, this game was honestly the scariest besides Argentina. Although that was more nerve wracking if anything. I was shitting myself when Hazard touched the ball! Belgium were scary, I felt whoever won that game would win the WC and I was right really. I think if Belgium had won they would have won it all too

It's rarely the team which plays the best who wins. As Var cancelled all the offsides "misinterpretation" (read corruption). And as fouls are not enough punished (first, how many anti game fouls do a player sometimes need to get a yellow card? Secondly, how the fuck is a yellow card punishing you enough... the guy could easily stop 3 or 4 big actions before getting sent off, and there are 11 of them on the field...Moreover, fouls are still a source of "interpretation", the advantaged teams can still make lots of fouls before getting booked.
Penalties are the second big problem of football: how a foul in the away corner of the gk surface equals a hand to save a goal? Also source of interpretation as each corner and people pulling each other could arguably bring a penalty...
This shows why he is struggling at Madrid is that he is not given freedom and also they don't know how to build him up in his runs

Beating a player or two doesn't mean anything if you're aimlessly drifting away from any support and into additional pressure.
