I think it was perfect the way it happened! I feel like the idea of a perfect proposal is so dumb. Tv and the internet make it like it’s just such a perfect magical moment and it is magical but I feel like most are never as perfect and romantic and put together like you want in your head. Mine was on Christmas morning last year no makeup in my pajamas not feeling very pretty at all, my family was there watching so like yours, it wasn’t the sweetest most romantic words, but it was still perfect and I couldn’t have been more happy to have been asked by the person I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and to just have this ring on my hand that would remind me that he wanted the same thing❤️

And I always thought that was B.S. but here we are, 7 years later. We found out we were expecting a child in July of the same year, bought a house in August, and got married in October. When my fiancé asked me to marry him, we had just gotten back from snowmobiling and I was in the kitchen making supper with my helmet hair and my actual pyjamas! Lol! I think most proposals aren’t what we think they will be because movies really just set a very unrealistic expectation. By the time you’re married (or in a few months) this will be the perfect proposal. My husband proposed in our kitchen with a card, he barely said anything, and I ruined the surprise because I saw him getting the ring. My husband picked a "formal dinner" night on a cruise to propose (after the actual dinner with his family) because he knows I usually just wear casual and comfy clothes. 😅 I never dress up unless I have to. Omg Clancy my proposal experience was just as awkward (probably more so). I was not expecting it and my husband hired a photographer. We were at a park and when he got down on one knee it was just us and some random stranger (who i later found out was the photographer) i was embarrassed there was this random person staring at us so my first reaction when he got down on one knee was to shake my head and say “ no! Not here!”
The pictures are PERFECT! Without makeup, big coat it doesn’t matter! Your smiles are soooo genuine and that is ALL you will ever care about in your many years ahead together 😊 plus there’s an “imperfect” story that goes along with it, which in the end actually makes it perfect!
I knew my fiancé was proposing the whole weekend we were away for our anniversary. When my fiancé asked me to marry him, we had just gotten back from snowmobiling and I was in the kitchen making supper with my helmet hair and my actual pyjamas! Lol! He bent down on one knee behind me and sorta panced me so I could look behind me. There he was on one knee , with the ring , and all he said was “well…. Will you?” Lol.

Blind dates for the win! My blind date led to marriage and we’ll celebrate 31 years this year. We were too cheap to spring for a big wedding, so we basically eloped and went all out on the honeymoon. I think most proposals aren’t what we think they will be because movies really just set a very unrealistic expectation. By the time you’re married (or in a few months) this will be the perfect proposal. My husband proposed in our kitchen with a card, he barely said anything, and I ruined the surprise because I saw him getting the ring. Now years later it couldn’t have been any better because it’s just what happened! So happy for you all, I’ve been watching for years and waiting for this moment ❤️😍

I freaked out right before getting proposed to and my (now) husband said the same thing: “do you trust me?”. Completely put me at ease.
My husband picked a "formal dinner" night on a cruise to propose (after the actual dinner with his family) because he knows I usually just wear casual and comfy clothes. 😅 I never dress up unless I have to. And even then I almost switched the top I was wearing, he pretty much told me the blouse looked way better so I didn't end up changing 😆

Omg Clancy my proposal experience was just as awkward (probably more so). I was not expecting it and my husband hired a photographer. We were at a park and when he got down on one knee it was just us and some random stranger (who i later found out was the photographer) i was embarrassed there was this random person staring at us so my first reaction when he got down on one knee was to shake my head and say “ no! Not here!”

I knew my fiancé was proposing the whole weekend we were away for our anniversary. I got all done up every night out… Saturday night still nothing, Sunday morning I was packing and having coffee on the porch of our cabin in gatlinburg watching the sunrise, in my pajamas! He made this whole huge plan to propose overlooking the city (we live in the hills) but he was freaking out (we dated for 3 years) so he didn’t do it.
But he had lined up dinner at a restaurant with BOTH of our families waiting…..
So JUST before going into the door (the trick was we were celebrating my brother’s birthday) he said “this probably isn’t the prime location but will you marry me?”
Because I am SO awkward I said “NO WAY!” And shoved him into the bushes like Elaine on Seinfeld.
He came back out of the bushes and said “well?”
Then the first photo of me is me sitting dazed in a chair next to a taxidermied fox (the restaurant was called the snooty fox).
