Junior software engineer here and I so relate to the learning curve that comes with learning a new language or tool that's internal to the company, as well as the missing or lack of documentation haha! Usually it would end up being my job to document and/or report issues, but this is so validating
I wanted to include my struggle with new coding language cause I feel like it’s not really portrayed in social media. Glad you were able to relate to this!
Hi jenn, it would be interesting to know what exactly is your role is and what tech stack frameworks you use for work hope you make a video on it someday
Although I like your vlogs, as a foreigner I'm really surprised with the way north american people live... I feel you are living to work and I feel sad about it. Where I live this would be an ABSURD. In Brasília (capital of Brazil) we (software engineers) usually work about 6 hours, mostly from home. We have time to really enjoy our days and we also have a month of vacation per year. I once received a job offer from a north american company... for real? I need to work for 8 -10 hours everyday and not even get a week per year without work? Nah, I'm passing. Wish you the best though
Jenn How are you doing today I hope you are doing good and How's your health and How's Everything🌸🩷🩷 and I really really enjoyed watching today's vlog a lot
@@imjenncho It used to be like that for me too till March 2020, since then I've been working fully remote. I kinda miss working with people in an office.
I don’t at all mind the vlogs being a little repetitive! I felt like this vlog had a really different vibe so idk if you made a conscious effort to do that or if it just happened. But I loved it! I would love to know how you get your big loose waves because your hair always looks amazing!
I like it too because as someone with a corporate job, it's very realistic and relatable. Work is the same thing every day, in a way, and you settle into a comfortable routine.
Look for some C++ course online. I do NOT recommend to start eith Python because it's too easy and it doesn't teach you the basics and some deeper stuff that it's important to know. Moreover if you start with C++, everything will be easy
Start with C++, understanding computer architecture and engineering on a basic level, work your way up from Calc I -> Linear Algebra and Statistics. Maybe pick up high level like Java, Javascript, and Python later.
Hey jenn , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
Not trying to sound critical here, just an observation but I feel like you've made like a lot of videos that are essentially the same in essence. I understand your videos are each unique in their own way and every day is different for you. Perhaps I would offer the advice of including something specifically unique in each video to the title in some way.
I actually do agree now that i have checked her titles are way too similar it gives all here videos a very general vibe even if they are somewhat different 😅
I see where you’re going at but I feel like she’s just trying to show a more realistic 9-5 day in the life. She mentioned trying not to glorify her life in tech because it’s not what most people experience. Typically a normal person’s job is the same thing every day. For me it’s reassuring to see someone as successful as Jenn is still relatable to the average Joe. As far as the title, maybe differentiating the videos by numbering them might help. Like Weekly Vlog 1,2,3…. As for differentiating content, she could bring back more advice on how to be a successful software engineer or give more insight as to what software engineers do.
Yes, nos that i check deeper into her channel, her titles are kind of the same, “finding balance” “Life of a software engineer” are super repetitive, although she’s nice and I love her videos. She can try to get better at bringing something new, tips for productivity and other stuff.
I have to disagree, the first part of the title is the series the video belongs to, then after the | she adds some details. I don't know about you, but I'm a SE as well and most of my days are the same work and doing yoga lol. I appreciate she keeps things real.
You inspired me to change my career from UX to software engineering! Thank you so much! ❤
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing

Have you thought about getting some fake or real plants for your desk area? I think it might make it more cozy.
Haha I do but then I get lazy to decorate it
Howl is so cute. I love the music choices in this video Jenn. They blend in so well.

enjoyed today's video so much! ❤
i love your videos! currently taking my bachelor’s in cs for software engineering, i hope it goes well :,).
Thanks for the new video. I'm glad you're doing well. I wonder why companies need their own separate programming language?
Yayyy! Vídeo novo
Great working-life balance! As a cs student, i understand that there are always some issues happened when u are coding with a new language. 😂
it’s a necessary struggle 😭
you're videos are so relaxing, what program do you use to edit you're videos ?
Final Cut Pro!

Could you create a video on how to study Software Engineering?
Good future video idea :)
You've been working at the office for a while, do you think the change of scenery it's helping you or you still prefer to fully work at home?
I like the hybrid model!

Do you move to Bellevue now because I've seen Bellevue downtown park in your most recent videos? I thought you work and live in Seattle?
Did you hear that Amazon is requiring 5 days a week in office? How will you adjust?
You inspire us tech Boys :)

Do you also wake up in the middle of the night to rectify an error in the code???
haha only if I wake up from a nightmare about my code
@@imjenncho Life of every coders 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Amazon has its own programming language? I didn’t know that either o_O
Interesting routine, nice city and very nice your cat.
what the usual coding language you use?
I’ve mostly used Java
I find that most of American software engineers enjoy a cup of coffee when they are writing code!😀
I'm a network engineer, less stressfull hehe
Good ol off-by-one error 😭😭😭
My cat does the same and I don't have the corage to scold him 😆
I hope this doesn’t come out as an extra weird compliment, but I want to say: you have such beautiful teeth!
