I shared a meme on FB a while back says it all. Me [listens to a new song]. My brain, upon receiving one single hit of dopamine. We shall listen to this song and this song only until we have wrung every single neurotransmitter out of it. That's how I feel about this piece.
Makes me envision being lost and totally isolated in the blistering heat of the arrakeen desert …. where the progression of time seems to pass by very slowly…..
yes - the jamis visions scenes with the soft meditative soundtrack and buddhist-style wisdom were some of my favourite scenes. the words and soft music play in my mind often whilst im cycling long distances at sunset, and in my mind i see many peaceful and/or spirtiaul images / images of family and images of myself walkign alone across long dsitnaces across expanding landscapes
Hans Zimmer's work on this track and the whole soundtrack is utterly impeccable. From 2:55 onwards, you close your eyes and you find yourself transported to the endless wastes of Arrakis, walking over the dunes. So powerful.
4:34 through to the end of the track just feels to me like a motif that could be repeated in Children of Dune when Leto II is merging with the sandtrout and then jumping over the desert. The mysticism of the night.
I remember The feeling in cinema, I was blown away and ofcourse fell in love with Dune. After The crash of ornithopter I was like "now this is quite long sequence of sandwalk in The desert maybe a little bit boring" And then The amazing scene with 3:35 in The background hit and I was totally amazed again, amazing how this movie gets you with every frame!
This is all bringing back memories of truly magical walks I have done in central Australia - especially walking around Uluru at dawn and through the Valley of the Winds of Kata Tjuta at dusk.
Your comment is such a vibe, I completely know what you mean. For me it was trekking through Kakadu National Park, crossing the South Alligator River at sunset. Unforgettable.
The more I listen to this, the more I hear Lawrence of Arabia than Toto's score. I think it's the arrangement that makes us think of Toto's score, but melody-wise, it's not.
Yeah this is the one, my absolute favourite music from my favourite scene in my new favourite film💯🎶 Im not sure but im sure this made for headphones, test it and see. Trust me.💯👌🏽
3:35 is such a cool moment, it feels like taking off over a vast landscape. I don't think it featured in the movie exactly like this (the sound was mixed differently), which is kind of a shame
Zimmer's standard operating procedure is to deny having heard any previous soundtrack that bares any resemblance to his music. Zimmer is a great composer but he's clearly inspired by things he doesn't admit. He was sued for this in the past (Gladiator soundtrack and Holst, for example, and also Interstellar soundtrack and Koyaanisqatsi by Glass)
Is this the part in the movie where they finish talking about the stillsuits? I’m trying to find that part after the conversation in the score during that transition with the awesome drums kicking in but maybe that’s just an added sound effect. This is when they’re first flying with the judge of the change
"now i can show you the ways of the desert....come with me" remember this line? This track plays during the time they are travelling through the desert with their still suit on, few mins before the sand worm and their encounter with the drum sand.
No. You're thinking of the music right at the beginning of this video. ruclips.net/video/26bgYpJOqcw/видео.html. And unfortunately I can't find that either.

I second both comments. SENSEI Hans just repeated everything he's been composing from "Thelma&Louise" to these days over&over. His ego shouldn't have ignored the fact that "Gladiator" is his all time's best Score AND to repeat such feat he should have relied on MUSE of 🔥 LISA GERRARD's talent once again. She is the most unique, incomparable, real alien otherworldly voice on Earth. As it is,both DUNE Film&Score are bitter [even if lavishly impressive] disappointments. I still wait for SENSEI FRANK HERBERT Masterpiece's ultimate adaptation, BUT unfortunately I won't live to see it come to life.So sad.
I have never seen one of your comments on any video that WASN'T negative. I'm sorry your parents didn't love you enough, but that's no reason to take it out on others.
A beautiful touch to Dune [1984], from 3:36 to 4:15
Hans spit onto the floor in respect for Toto, haha
Can you explain how? Specific time stamps? What am I meant to be looking for?
@@TheOppl It's an echo of the theme, but not a quote.
I noticed that too. I was hoping some of their score would be incorporated.
3:44 chills
Long Live Hans Zimmer
Movie version is even better

That's just the dune 1984 theme
I love Paul's vision with this song. "Life is not a mystery to solve, but a reality to experiance"
Doesn't that (Paul's vision) happen while the *Sandstorm* OST is playing?

Hans Zimmer did it again.
Hans Zimmer's work on this track and the whole soundtrack is utterly impeccable. From 2:55 onwards, you close your eyes and you find yourself transported to the endless wastes of Arrakis, walking over the dunes. So powerful.
That's because it's copying the dune 1984 theme
There are no wastes on Arrakis, but I feel you fam.
3:35 I see what you did there, Hans... **slow clap**
I thought it was just me that caught the Toto tribute in this track- amazing!!
Saw the film on Monday evening and it's been in my head ever since, going back to the cinema on Friday to watch again! This soundtrack is immense.
4:34 through to the end of the track just feels to me like a motif that could be repeated in Children of Dune when Leto II is merging with the sandtrout and then jumping over the desert. The mysticism of the night.
@mrguy9283 maybe don't read dune comment sections without knowing the full story, mate
Marvellous track. This is Arrakis.

i would loved to hear this piece as an overture to the film. bring back overtures
I'm not sure, but there is reference to dune from 1984 at 03:31 . Or it's just coincidence. Who knows...
I get goosebumps each time I listen
Is it me or does 3:35 pay respect to the classic 1980’s Dune theme?
It is, no doubt. Thats a very nice throwback!
Yeee 😀
You know what's freaky? Hans Zimmer never heard or saw the original soundtrack and movie!
Seriously?
Yes! I knew I heard a little bit in the theatre.
This is all bringing back memories of truly magical walks I have done in central Australia - especially walking around Uluru at dawn and through the Valley of the Winds of Kata Tjuta at dusk.

I'm so proud to be australian for the beautiful landscape we have
i prayed we get a toto reference and we did!
Where?
@@SriM0 3:35
Yet Hans Zimmer never heard nor saw the original Dune movie! That's freaky.
@@aniruddhagowda8072Oh he definitely listened to the ost from the previous movies pol
Hans loves all things Dune as much as Denis

This piece is probably my favorite. Unbelievable.
I just listen again to Zimmer's "The Burning Bush" and that is the same, but much better.
Reminds me of the classic 1984 movie soundtrack by Toto
i wonder why... Mayby it's intentional? Especially ehere? 03:31 for me it's thesame. ruclips.net/video/Pm5VP3of-dA/видео.html :)
Great instrumental piece🙌🏼
3:35 is such a cool moment, it feels like taking off over a vast landscape. I don't think it featured in the movie exactly like this (the sound was mixed differently), which is kind of a shame
7 billion voices and yours is my favorite voice

all creation is a remix. might as well be transparent about it - then you've got nothing to lose 🤷♂
Alien, unique, and new
3:35 Reminds me a lot of At World's End and On Stranger Tides
Is it only me or at 3:50 it gives an Interstellar vibe...
"Don't be frightened... Even a little desert mouse can survive."

This is right after Paul and Jessica crash after the sandstorm and they put on the stillsuits before crossing worm territory. Great song.

Is it a hammered dulcimer or cimbalom that kicks in at 1:23 ?
splendide
I call Lawrence of Arabia on this one
🥰❤️⭐✨
This is from the movie Encino Man
Dune s theme

The Passion Of The Christ vibes.

Anybody hears Bowie's Blackstar in this song? :)
There’s a bit of Captain Jack here
The Toto reference and the House Atreides track from the Sketchbook are great! 😆
The rest of the score, however...🤮
I second both comments.

Armada, ripple in the sand, my raiders leads into the desert many great things in this soundtrack
The rest of the ost 🤯😍
This stream of consciousness garbage is really boring me to death. Ugh!
Oh, so more “cultured” music wouldn’t be equally non-melodic?
You might not like Johann Sebastian Bach, then.
Your series of garbage comments is boring me to death too. ugh!
