I have mature dry skin, 67 years old. I think this may be good for me. That blush looks gorgeous on you! Thank you so much!❤️🙋♀️😊🇨🇦 The cream shadows, I do powder them and they do last.
Hey Brenda! Yes, you have to powder them! That’s exactly how I do it too. I didn’t do it in this video because Merit doesn’t have a powder and I really wanted this to be Merit only.

I love watching your videos and Marlena's videos. I really appreciate your unhinged moment, and you're genuine with your reviews on products. Thank you for always mentioning your more mature audience like me 😄 I have a mixed feeling about these products! I enjoy the minimalist approach to my makeup! However I do want it to last all day! I love as you describe the creamy texture of the product, constantly looking for a foundation like that as well as using it all over you my face, so you don’t need primers etc ..one does the work! Would you recommend using the foundation but adding the setting powder and different bronzer? The foundation really appeals to me! Thanks for your videos I really enjoy it! Happy Sunday..
This was a bit of a revelation to me: I have oily skin. I always thought it was dry, because it feels tight, but it’s just dehydrated and oily. I love the glow you have at the end of the day!! I always set with powder, which helps. I expect makeup to fade over the course of the day, but some fades more flatteringly than others.
Ahhhh don’t apologize for being authentic! Speak your truth 😊 Your makeup looks awesome! I hear you, you don’t like it but you can pull all of the looks off ❤ I loved the luxury makeup review btw😀
I have dry and mature skin, so really intrigued by this makeup line! I also really loved the most expensive makeup products video! I found it so interesting and fun! 🎉😊
Thank you so much for this very balanced review. Merit is definitely hit or miss and better for certain skin types. Agree that there is little longevity even for those with dry/normal skin type. Love your directness and transparency in your reviews.
You're much younger than me, Gabi, but I still love your channel, honest reviews, and tutorials. I really like the Merit foundation stick. It's the only product I use from their line, but now may try the flush and bronze balm. They looked so pretty on you! I wish I knew where to find your earrings, love them! ❤
I would love to see a video on using the merit eyeshadows! I had heard such great things about them so I bought three, but they fade and I can’t imagine doing a look with them. If anything I use one as a base and use other shadows with it, but I love the colors and would buy more and would like to use the ones I have together. Thanks!
The merit great skin serum gave me acne within one hour of applying. I tested it a few times and the same thing happened every time 😢 I have acne prone dry skin for ref
Hi Gabi, I bought this collection and got the signature bag (likely they are pushing it because they probably had to buy a certain amount and need to move them out). This collection was great on my skin (mature, dry skin), and it's great if you want to look natural. I love the mascara!!!! I have never tried a tubing mascara and have difficulty with smudging from my bottom lashes. I have natural long lashes, and this is one of the few that have been a winner for me. Thanks for showing this look in different lighting conditions. You are correct; not long-lasting, but it did not separate like yours. Again, mature eyes that are not oily. There is no creasing from the foundation stock either🎉 thanks again for creating helpful application tips on this line. Timing was perfect for me. 🥰
Omg, I love this unhinged moment, you are so right Gabi, they all have their sets they want you to buy, and EVERYTHING is fantastic.... Ha and don't forget the bag😂😂. I appreciate your honesty, thank you, it feels like fresh air in this fake world!
Thank you, Gabi, for doing a full face of Merit products. Simply gorgeous, on you, initially, but, a tad greasy, later. Angie did a video with Merit products, too. The eyeshadow creased on her, too, but the foundation looked a bit better on her combination skin. So, it really does show how different skin types and the process of application, DOES make a difference. ❤ya, sweet friend, Kimber~Austin, Texas USA 🇺🇸 Sister in Beauty and Faith 🥰 🙏
I absolutely love the color of the eyeshadow. I feel like the color and overall look would work for me. However, the creasing. I don't have oily skin, but I have always had a problem with creasing even with powder eyeshadow. So, thank you for the honest review and the inspiration to try this look! ❤🍓
I have a very affordable suggestion for an alternative to the complexion stick for us oily gals - Wet 'n Wild Tinted Moisturizer. No joke! It offers light to medium buildable coverage with a matte to natural matte finish. As a mature but oily gal, I can actually skip concealer completely and just use this tinted moisturizer that behaves more like a skin tint. I admit that I don't have very dark circles under my eyes, but I do have a lot of creasing and crepey skin, and this product doesn't settle into my lines at all.
Thanks for trying it all so that I don't have to!! I love that natural look, but I have a feeling I would have been very disappointed with the products. I may try a tubing mascara though! Love your review!❤
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been wanting to try other products from this brand, but hesitant to spend the money for a face of new products! I love the brow pencil and purchased b/c of your recommendation! - amazing product! Loved every second of your content on this one ❤️🍓
🍓 I purchased the foundation stick, bronzer, highlighter and blush combo. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I am normal to dry except in the t zone, where I tend to get oily. I have to reapply the blush several times and then powder it. It does better... Loved your explanation/demo of applying the foundation. That helped me understand and it looked better on me applied strategically. I have the solo shadows in several of the neutral colors and love them. They don't tend to crease on me too bad...nothing I can't just pat out. I would love to see more looks on how to use them! Agree abiut the bag...what is the hype??
I'm a mature woman with combination skin and I love the bronzer and blush. I do set with powder, though, because I live in Florida and it's humid! Love this type of video.
I was excited for this one thank you for doing this Gabi! I love a lot of Merit products, but I did not like the great skin serum at all. I ended up giving it to my mother who is 84 with very very dry skin. I have combination/sensitive skin, but I found it to be extremely slick to the degree that I felt like my makeup slid off when I used it. But I am obsessed with their complexion stick, bronzer, and flush balms. If you want it to be an all day thing, though you need to use your powder and maybe layer with a powder blush over the balms. I really like the mascara, but it's hard to get off. That's my only complaint about it. I really appreciate your comments, Gabi, they are spot on. When I was younger, and I had really oily skin much of this line would never have worked for me, at least not for more than about an hour or two. I love your suggestion that they do a more normal/oily option for each product!
Gabi love ur videos. Can you make a video of full face makeup for over 50s and include how to apply lipstick to plump the lips especially upper lip thanks❤
The 101 and 109 brushes are amazing. I love them. You can do my makeup one day. I'll let you! But I've been on a CT foundation stick kick. It's beautiful because it still gives me a shine after I powder it. I use a bronzer on top, the L'oreal Lumi liquid blush in the shade Dewy Worth It (GORGEOUS SHADE!), bronzer to color correct my under eyes, the ND concealer, and the Givenchy loose powder. And of course, the All Nighter setting spray. L'oreal Infallible bronzer for my eyeshadow, and a Hard Candy eyeshadow stick for my bottom lash line. And a different mascara every day.
Totally agree with your take on Merit….enough about the bag…ha ha. I have the flush balm & really like it & I might be the right person for the foundation stick in the winter…certainly not the summer. It would be nice if brands had the courage to say it’s not for oily skin!
OMG, the rant and the apology afterwards is the mark of a true Canadian. I’m the minimalist girl that they are targeting. I have normal to dry skin AND I’m here with your honest review. 😉 Fellow Canadian girl here! 🙋🏼♀️♥️🇨🇦 (What’s the strawberry 🍓 for? I must have missed the stream where it comes from!) PS: I found you through Nikki Larose, Marlena’s video. You had me at ‘I’m Canadian.
🍓 Another great video, Gabi! Thank you so much! I’ve been waiting for this one ☺️ I too was disappointed to see that the eye shadow didn’t hold up well. BUT to hear about the mascara! I will give it a try. I’ve been on a mascara hunt for years. I think I’ve tried them all. I usually always end up with raccoon eyes. I started using Anastasia Clear Brow Gel as an ‘overcoat’ and that definitely helps keep most mascaras in place. I guess I just have such squinchy eyes when I smile that I give my mascara a workout! Love the video! Thank you! Oh and PS - on a previous video you talked about your fav eyelash curler by Rèphr….. well I snagged it and HOLY MOLY! It IS the best eyelash curler I’ve ever used! You were 100% right! Wow! I’m in love! Not only does it give great curl, but it feels sooooo comfy in my hand and on my fingers! THANK YOU! You’re the best Gabi! Big hugs from a new forever fan. 😊
Gabi, you look stunning. Honestly, I know you see shine but I see glow. I think your skin looks healthy, glowing and gorgeous. I don't see oily or too shiny at all. Your brows are perfect. Thank you for this great review. I just bought a bunch of Merit and was not sure exactly how to use the products. Now I do. 🙂 The bag is ridiculous. It's not that great and I don't care that I received it. I gave it away. LOL
I really appreciate your clear explanations and talking points and how you establish who this brand is for and how it would be used. I watch you because I know I can get honest feedback and can spend my money wisely on what will work for my style. There will ways be those who feel their opinions and thoughts might be requested or appreciated when clearly they’re not…remember those of us cheering you on and appreciating who YOU are and your mission. 🍓🍓🍓
Ever since I read Wayne Goss's experience with Merit's customer service, I have no interest in purchasing from them. I have an eye shadow and a blush from them before that video and really do not reach for them at all. I found the eyeshadow difficult to work with and the blush nothing to write home about. I find it weird with the complexion stick and how much people use. You might as well use a foundation and concealer. That bag is really stupid and unusable for anything. I got rid of mine. I am surprised people did not like the luxury video. I find those really fun and interesting. I get sick and tired of hearing about Elf and drugstore makeup. Each to their own!
Have had it in my cart but wasn’t sure, now I’m purchasing today😊ThanksGabi look at this a company driving toward not doing 15 steps to get out the door, yea Merit for being an honest company, yes Merit yes😊😊😊✨
So probably priming, even lids and powder, would help this cream makeup, setting spray, etc-to get a look with minimal overtones and staying power. As far as brands seems ok to me to wear any number of brands as long as the product works-so much to choose from-something for everyone-we live in a great age-hopefully we will keep moving our innovation forward!
Thank you, Gabby. I also have oily skin so this makeup brand would not work for me. Looking at you after you did all their make up. It’s definitely looks too shiny too greasy ha ha lol but I agree with you about the bag. That’s a hard cell. That’s very pushy appreciate your videos so much.
Mature lady in the house! 🙋♀️ The complexion stick sounds so good! You are a gorgeous natural beauty Gabi!! Trying to apply a full coverage foundation on my dry skin will make it worse and settle into every wrinkle and pore making them even more noticeable! Not to mention they can be messy and transfer on to clothes. The Merit complexion stick looks like it provides great coverage for imperfections but still looks like skin. I would definitely like to try it! Thank you as always for everything you do! Have a wonderful week! ❤
The freaking bag 😂! I thought I was the only thing one who was mystified by the importance of the damn bag. The cream eyeshadow disappeared into oblivion.
I bought the Merit foundation stick after watching Angie Hot and Flashy review it. She loved it and as I am a minamilist when it comes to makeup I decided to try it. I have combination skin, but quite oily in the T zone, but I love it. So easy to apply and smooth out. I of course I use powder in my T zone. I would like to try the bronzer and brow products. Great review, as usual ! No I don’t need the bag!
I really like Merit's blushes and I have oily skin. I typically layer Beverly Hills with Cheeky. Their mascara works for me even when other tubing mascaras haven't.
I had the foundation stick and two of the cream shadows - all decluttered. I am lucky to have really good, normal skin and the foundation just sat on top of it and settled into pores. That’s unusual for me; most foundations go on well and look good. The shadows creased and wore off, no matter what I did. It’s put me off trying other things from them.
I love all your videos Gabi and I LOVED your most expensive products video and shared it. It was entertaining and great to know where it might be worth the splurge or not. I actually bought a couple of the items you reviewed 👍.
I have cool toned light-medium brown eyebrows and the only brow pencil that works for me shade wise is the Em Cosmetics pencil in light taupe. It’s a perfect match to my brows. I have tried Benefit, Elf, Rare Beauty, and not one of them matched my brow color. They all had red in them, my hair can look red sometimes, but my eyebrows are not that color😂 I may have to check the Merit ones out.
You´re absolutely right, Gabi. It´s unveliebable what some people are willing to do for money. You are a brave person showing your oily sking to the world by using such a horrible product for us, girls with oily skin.
I just found you and I am very impressed with your honesty! I am a senior who likes makeup and has dry skin, but these products didn’t work for me especially that cream shadow and the blush. I will stick with my Laura Geller products.🍓
Learn so much from your videos, especially as my face "collapsed" in the space of two years in the menopause transition. Shock to learn to live in whole new body. Your series on mature women been moral boosting and technically exactly what I need. Feel that only you and Wayne Gross really giving us 50+ serious attention and help. I have question you don’t seem to address anywhere, how to balance skin care, makeup and gym. If evening gym Do we strip everything from face before gym (adding to pre workout prep), I am stuck on how to balance all items I need to bring with me daily (I live in Europe and don’t use a car). Or what are the suggestions for trying to balance our routines if products on, products off, skin care and gym time…I feel confused and little overwhelmed.
🍓Thank you for doing this video. I was so curious to see what you thought of it. I'm already heavily invested in this product, so I'm not throwing it out. I do agree with everything you said about it for oily skin. I do find that it seems to be gone at the end of the day. I still love it for what it is...lip and lashes are the best! I also highly enjoy the serum, not for my face but for my legs!
I’m going to check out your luxury beauty video. I’m a minimalist and love this way of wearing makeup. I didn’t like their lipstick selections and I don’t care about a bag either Also, I’d rather hear more off the cuff comments rather than overly polished reviews. This was great. Thank you.
I use this product and I really like it. I have combination skin and I set the foundation with powder and it does last for a few hours which I’d fine with me. I do agree that the blush doesn’t last too long. Definitely going to buy the mascara.

One of my favorite videos of yours and it's because you are so relatable and you seem to just keep it real. 🍓🙂
🍓🙂 Thank you, you're too kind!
I love these pr haul videos. I love seeing all the new products. Looking forward to your try-on video. Have a great day.
🍓🍓🍓 Will have to check out the mascara as mine always smudged.
Thank you so much for this video, Gabi!
You are welcome! Thanks for supporting the channel
I would love to see a video on using the merit eyeshadows! I had heard such great things about them so I bought three, but they fade and I can’t imagine doing a look with them. If anything I use one as a base and use other shadows with it, but I love the colors and would buy more and would like to use the ones I have together. Thanks!
Thank you for being honest! ❤❤❤
The merit great skin serum gave me acne within one hour of applying. I tested it a few times and the same thing happened every time 😢 I have acne prone dry skin for ref
Good to know! That is so frustrating for you. There’s nothing worst then when a formula breaks you out.
@@GlamGirlGabi rightttt? It's a gorgeous product though! 💕
Yes!!! When did Angie do that video? I’m going to go find it and watch. Angie is such a beautiful human. I want to see these looks on her.
❤❤❤nice video
I think that eye color looks good on you. Especially with that top. I enjoyed this video. Never heard of this brand before.
🍓 You are the absolute best!!! Thank you for all your amazing content
🍓. Love your hair like this!!!
Love you and your content Gabi! ✨🍓
Thank you so much! Love you right back!
🍓thank you, so informative and fun! 🍓
I'm a mature woman with combination skin and I love the bronzer and blush. I do set with powder, though, because I live in Florida and it's humid! Love this type of video.
Thanks for sharing!!
I ❤ your honesty. Thank you 😊
I got you ❤️
I was excited for this one thank you for doing this Gabi!
Thank you for giving your insight and experience with the products!
🍓 Great video Gabi! Really appreciated how you pointed out who this brand was for and who it was not for.
Gabi love ur videos. Can you make a video of full face makeup for over 50s and include how to apply lipstick to plump the lips especially upper lip thanks❤
Oh my gosh I’m literally working on a mature lip video RIGHT now! What a coincidence! I’ll get that out in September 22. Stay tuned!
This does all look beautiful on you!
🍓Thank you for being you Gabi. I enjoyed your rant and you saved this 'Oily girl' money.
Happy to help! 🍓
OMG, the rant and the apology afterwards is the mark of a true Canadian. I’m the minimalist girl that they are targeting. I have normal to dry skin AND I’m here with your honest review.
😉 Fellow Canadian girl here! 🙋🏼♀️♥️🇨🇦
(What’s the strawberry 🍓 for? I must have missed the stream where it comes from!)
PS: I found you through Nikki Larose, Marlena’s video. You had me at ‘I’m Canadian.
lol!!! So true! #peoplepleaser 🇨🇦
LOL
I hope you love the products. Glad I could help with some tips on how to apply!
Thank you. That means a lot! I'm here to help and share my genuine opinion.
I totally agree!
🍓 Thank you for keeping it real, Gabi!
That blush color looks fantastic on you!
Oh thank you! I really like the red too! It’s so natural looking.
Thanks for watching and let me know if you try it! It sounds like it might be a good fit for you!
The freaking bag 😂! I thought I was the only thing one who was mystified by the importance of the damn bag. The cream eyeshadow disappeared into oblivion.
It’s just so over the top isn’t it? We get it!!!
Thanks for letting me know about your experience with the foundation stick!
I really like Merit's blushes and I have oily skin. I typically layer Beverly Hills with Cheeky. Their mascara works for me even when other tubing mascaras haven't.
The mascara is truly fantastic. I’ve been wearing it everyday
You go girl!! I agree with you 100% about people trusting creators and all the talking points that would seem scripted.
Ugh it’s so annoying isn’t it? It’s so hard to break free from that in this business. I struggle with it on a weekly basis.
I'm glad to hear it! I had so much fun making that video, but I understand it's not for everyone.
🍓Love you videos Gabi and your honest reviews!
🍓 Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Love you…so genuine
Thank you!
You´re absolutely right, Gabi. It´s unveliebable what some people are willing to do for money. You are a brave person showing your oily sking to the world by using such a horrible product for us, girls with oily skin.
I wanted to try it, and I always keep it real here!
@@GlamGirlGabi I know, and I congratulate you for not faking your videos.
I just found you and I am very impressed with your honesty! I am a senior who likes makeup and has dry skin, but these products didn’t work for me especially that cream shadow and the blush. I will stick with my Laura Geller products.🍓
Welcome to the channel and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for letting me know! 🍓
Loved this! 🍓🍓🍓
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🍓
I’m going to check out your luxury beauty video. I’m a minimalist and love this way of wearing makeup. I didn’t like their lipstick selections and I don’t care about a bag either Also, I’d rather hear more off the cuff comments rather than overly polished reviews.
This was great. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
LMAO it's just a bag! 😂 Gabi is always keeping it 💯and that's why we love youuuuuuu!
I use this product and I really like it. I have combination skin and I set the foundation with powder and it does last for a few hours which I’d fine with me. I do agree that the blush doesn’t last too long. Definitely going to buy the mascara.
🍓 Strawberries! So fun! Thanks for your bluntly honest opinion on the Merit brand. Thanks for spending time and money to give us all honest reviews so we dont have to waste time and money on things that wouldnt suit us.
❤🍓
