I finally found a powder i didn't hate. Still wasn't perfect for my skin, but the only one i kinda liked. Then they change it. I bet it was the number 1 selling powder 😂 why change it?
I agree! It came out of nowhere and no one asked for it! It was my perfect powder! I luckily have a backup and a mini so I’m good for quite a while!

Honestly, it’s so illuminating how so many influencers “love these products” and label them as their “favorites” each month, yet to find out months later it sucked. Smoke and mirrors. Sadly most of them get this stuff for free yet so many of us are out there chasing crap we don’t need. Just sad. Thanks for your content, but I wish this was made by more people.
This is also why I tend to keep watching smaller channels. Once people get big and get on PR lists their content just changes. I get it. It’s your business. It’s just not “honest.”

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm thinking they give positive reviews so they don't get kicked off their PR list. I'd much rather have a professional opinion than blowing hot air. And, I'd hope companies also appreciate the feedback as to improve their products.
I completely understand wanting to use flattering lighting, but I personally see no difference in this make up look versus every other. The lighting is just so flattering and blurry. It feels like I’m watching another make up look. Looking fabulous as always ❤️
I’m assuming a lot of her dislike is how it feels on her skin. Plus her skin is flawless so even less than ideal makeup doesn’t really change her look.

The givenchy powder gate is the most mind blowing thing on the beauty side of the internet in my opinion in so long….still crazy to me that they changed the formula so much 😂🤪💄

I appreciate you doing this. So sorry those products didn't work for you and thankful for telling us why they didn't. As a fellow veteran makeup artist of 30 years, it's important to have well working high-performance products for longevity. One company that doesn't get enough attention for great products is " Merle Norman Cosmetics". I worked for them for 11 years and started my makeup artist journey with them. I really stand behind them on many solid products they currently sell. Merle Norman has been around for decades and was the first of few cosmetic companies that sold and made foundations for darker skin types. Their lip pencil plus sticks are long lasting and come in many beautiful shades along with a beautiful powder foundation. I would love to see you try their products. I have many other recommendations in their line if you're interested. I love being a makeup artist and trying other companies, but I certainly have some tried & true products that I keep as staples in my pro kit for my clients.

I actually really like the Buxom lip liners! I agree that the pencil itself is quite large, but I generally reach for it when I want to fill in my lips and throw a gloss on top. So if precision isn’t your main goal, I think it’s a great formula!

With so much makeup in the market and so many influencers mainly showing them using the makeup with no reviews it gets really hard to make an educated decision on makeup products. I love the saie slip tint! I have really oily skin but where I live it gets very windy. The winter ends up drying my skin and making it so tight so the saie almost adds that veil of hydration that keeps my skin from cracking! Granted I have my hair pulled back anytime I wear it and always do at least a light veil of powder so it’s not so “wet”. It’s my winter time skin saver.
I loveeee it as well on my dry skin😆♥️I’m not into foundations I recently got the Huda beauty blur one because it’s not really foundation it’s more serum type so I love that one too for my dry skin😁
I love the Rare beauty lip oils! BUT I recommend using them as you would a lip stain. I apply let the stain set, remove the shine, apply lip liner then a gloss or lip treatment and the stain lasts throughout my day! Hope this helps!

i honestly don't think they're lip oils, but oily lip stains. they marketed as lip oils because lip oils were the trend product of the moment lol i still wanna get one bc i think they look really nice (but i'll do what you suggested!!)
This is also how I use it!! For me, it’s purely a lip stain and not a lip oil, and when you use it that way it’s actually great and much easier to use than other lip stains!
I came here to leave this exact comment! They are a holy grail for me, but I use them as a stain! The formula, color options, flexibility with how they can work. I pray every day they will come out with more colors 😂♥️
Oh my gosh - I feel so validated! 😆 I felt like the only person who doesn’t like that Saie Slip Tint!! I can’t stand that it never dries down and feels so slimy on my skin. Thank you - I’m not alone 😂 I appreciate you suffering through this face of makeup to remind us that makeup isn’t one-size-fits-all.

So appreciate the honesty where products concerned. In the past have wasted so much money on a makeup that’s wrong for my skin type. Although post menopausal, still have a fabulously oily T zone. I've actually used the tarte park ave princess for years! Only recently have I forced myself to explore with different brands/shades but still find myself coming back to park ave.. I think there is something slightly rosy about the shade that can be really flattering with certain looks. I'm considering buying the matte formula. What I can't stand is the tacky packaging !

Hi Nikki I’d be interested to know your opinion on Sydney Grace’s Cloud Nine Setting powder. It’s talc free - I use it under my eyes on top of ND’s concealer. On the rest of my face I mix it with Nikkia Joy’s powder for my very fair oily skin.

I have dry sensitive and eczema prone skin and I thought the Said slip tint would be amazing for me after seeing some reviews but omg it’s the same problem you had! It’s wet, it literally never sets , transfers like crazy, gives a yucky feeling of stickiness ugh genuinely don’t know who would love this 😩

I think its always important to share what products don't work for you and why you don't like them. I get so much value from how people review products in general but how you speak about the ones that dont work say volumes about ones character. 💄
Countless products out there, so many different skin types, inly natural that all products don't work for everybody. No shade, no shame. Go for it! I love these navigating videos!!!💖
I LOVE the GXVE blushes but I agree about the packaging- I just end up swirling both shades together. It isn’t patchy on me but I think the thought was that you could use them separate or together. That being said, the colors are beautiful and I have every color and use them constantly on my combo skin with large pores and they don’t accentuate my texture and actually last. My fave application is with a flimsy type blush brush like the Smashbox one.
I have the same type of skin as you and I really appreciate videos like this. Everything can't work for everybody

thank you Nikki for also showing products that are NOT working for you! no need to apologize or feel guilty, things perform differently for each of us based on so many variables (skin prep, skin type, environmental factors, etc.). I also appreciate seeing how you troubleshoot when a product isn't working, makeup can be a big investment and sometimes we gotta use up what we have even if it's not our favorite! I have definitely had those frustrating products that go straight to the trash lol but if I can't return something, I try to work with what I have! thanks for sacrificing a great makeup day for this video 😅
This video was so relatable. The feeling when a look is not going your way🫠😂 The downside to a competitive market is not every product is gonna hit and it helps so much to know how things perform (or don’t).
I will defend the rare beauty lip oils but only when used as a stain. I let it sit for a couple minutes, blot off the gloss and then I either line and lip balm or throw my clarins oil over it. It lasts forever and the colors are beautiful.

I have such trouble finding a bronzer that doesn't go a weird rusty red on my skin tone, and the Hotel Heiress bronzer actually works! I used to be really golden and now my skin is more olive-toned as I've aged. That bronzer is also waterproof so it's great when I get hot flashes. I do agree they should have waaaay more colour range, though. I'm an ex-MAC artist, too, and I love your channel!

I was influenced to purchase the Saie Slip Tint by your 2 friends (Lisa J & Angie...they seem to love it!). But when I applied it to my skin, I had the SAME EXACT reaction as you, and I have 55 year old skin. I went back to Sephora and returned it. Don't apologize. All the lines you mentioned are beautiful lines, but at the end of the day, not everything is going to be great, and that's ok.
