The EASIEST Mould Making Material!? | How To Use Aqua Cast Casting Compound

  • Today I'm showing you how to use aqua cast casting compound, which could be considered the easiest mould making material due to its properties. Now obviously I originally thought that this aqua cast casting compound was a resin, however it definitely isn't a resin! The only way I can describe it, is as a combination of Jesmonite and plaster of Paris. It was very easy to use, similarly to plaster of Paris, however it was a lot tougher and left less of a chalky feel to the finished cast. Obviously I was only doing some little experiments in this video with the aqua cast casting compound, like colouring the material with inks, paints and mica powders; however I'm sure there'll be plenty of other applications for this casting compound. But let me know what your thoughts were on this aqua cast stuff, and do you think this is one of the easiest mould making materials you can use? And if you have any other resins, craft materials etc that you want to see on the channel, then feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below!

So much fun 🤩 We clearly have similar struggles with best colorant ideas, especially to get black 😁 even black Brusho failed me, although it’s still pretty. I also tried pigment paste and liquid, nothing. Best result was black acrylic paint, but even that wasn’t great…
Anyway, it was the clip of you hefting the bucket in your December teaser reel that clued me in to today’s video topic - I have the same bucket 🤣 good exercise 💪

I think the soap dish came out looking like something you might see in an ultra modern, high spec bathroom, with the natural stone sink etc. I really liked that. As for the snowflakes you made, they all came out pretty nicely, especially the red one, which surprised me. It was a shame that the bluey-green one didn't turn out that well because I thought it would look amazing. So what do you plan to make with the rest of the powder? It's interesting stuff for sure. Maybe risk it all and mix some with jesmonite perhaps? God bless you Ant and all those you love. And an early Merry Christmas to you and yours.
