  • If you would like to Lock a Folder on your Mac with a Password to protect the files it contains, there isn't a direct way to do it. However, it is fairly easy to do this with the Disk Utility application that comes with your Mac.
This video will show you how to create an encrypted disk image from a folder and add a password to it.

Hi- Great tip, thanks. Does the DMG file automatically increase in size as you add new files to it or is there a limit and if so, how can it be increased? Thanks.
