Good luck with the ‘Battle’ and the bike! Take it easy🤘🏼🌸
Thank you Pierre, I’m hoping it’ll all come together somehow 😀 Hope you’re having a great weekend ✨🙌🏼
Old kit ? Beach Race ? Perfect combo... That sand destroys everything... Not just drive trains, CX bike ? The perfect set up. Have a hoot 👌
Thanks Kev! Yeah sorry about my stinky old kit 1500 other participants 😆 wish I was taking 3T for it’s first race but it’ll have to be the inflite if I go ☹️
thanks Amer, you seem very chipper in the face of adversity of broken bikes and crashing computers. Why is there always so many things to sort out in life 🤪? Good luck with the race. The trails around where you are look great to.
Haha thank you Andy 🙂 I know right, it’s never ending isn’t it!! Starting to think I am cursed 😆 Very lucky with the trails though I can’t deny it, on the plus side!
Good luck with the battle on the beach …even if you don’t have a bike to ride! 😃
Thanks Tony! I can take my cyclocross bike if needs be. I won’t be making the 5 hour drive without one, I’m terrible at running for starters 😆
Ahh here is the Inflite you mentioned! In the end, I decided to buy some Zipp 303S for the Grizl I already have, and use the Nukeproof Digger as my "super" gravel / off road bike, rather than buying even more bikes!
Good luck Sunday go smash it 👊🏻
Thanks Mark, I’ll do my best 😀
Good luck and have fun this weekend
Thanks 👍
Assuming it’s been ridden in the manner for which it was intended, I’d be taking that bike back to the shop and stating “not fit for purpose “.
Good luck for the race on Sunday 🚴♂️👍
Exactly Tony, not fit for purpose 🙌🏼 I’ve really looked after it and everything! Thank you so much, I hope I make it to the race 🤞🏼
@@amerridesbikes 🤞🙏
Great to see you back. Sorry to hear about the bike, you should not have to keep paying to upgrade all the time. Good luck on The week-end on which ever bike works eh ! 😎
Good to see you back again and I hope you get the 3T sorted. It sucks that corners are cut even on upper-tier builds. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you Charles. It’s so frustrating honestly. I bought a new bike to avoid hassle and it’s been quite the opposite! I think they’re sorting it now though, watch this space … 🤞🏼
You didn't even mention the Woodpecker butting in 😂 Good luck on the Battle on the Beach 👍
Yesssss you noticed the woodpecker!! I didn’t hear it until I was editing. Excellent work Grant 😀
With all due respect, you are adorable! I been cycling long before you were born, so don't worry! Lol! Good job kid!
Interesting thoughts, thanks Dan 😆 I suspect I’m much older than you think I am but I’ll take it!
@@amerridesbikes No malice intended young lady. I turned 64 this month. I may have wrongfully assumed (because of your very youthful features) that you were oh... in your twenties! But you appear to be a very a very competent cyclist. And that is alone extremely beautiful! Lol!
Get yourself a easily servicable hub. It will most likely cost you more on the front end however, you'll service it regualrly (because it's easy) and you'll have comfort / peace of mind knowing you can keep it running without relying on bike shops and their hours. Worse case you'll break even on the price, best case you'll be finacially far ahead and riding without concern.
My hub suggestion is DT Swiss 350's rachet.
Thanks Steve. My last video was about exactly this. Fundamentally I am refusing to spend £300 on a new hub and wheel rebuild on a 6 month old £4000 bike that’s already had the hub warrantied once and replaced at 3 months. The shop are sorting me out so hopefully my bike will actually work moving forwards 🤞🏼
@@amerridesbikes I agree with you, in principle the wheelset should last longer than the lifespan of it's first cassette or worse, first chain. However, I've dug my heels in on matters like this and thrown good money after bad.
Fighting for a principle in the bike industry for me typically costs me money and frustration.
I've tried to remember the adage: Frame, components and wheels....pick two as the third will usually be below pair, (I think you referenced something similar)
When I make a bike purchase, I consider swapping the factory wheels in for a higher end wheelset into the negotated price
wow! Yeah I'd agree you got a Lemon on that 3T. Also, you are NOT alone with the gopro problems too! I tried them but they were alost impossible to deal with. Loved the vid! God luck at BoB
Haha yes what an absolute lemon indeed 🍋😆 I’m glad it’s not just me struggling with “easy to use” GoPro issues! Thanks lovely 😊
Well done Amy nice, ride I hope you now get plenty of trouble free riding on the 3T its seems to be one thing after another, good luck with your race, I seen you had been doing a lot of Zwifting so you should be well prepared.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Thank you Terry 😊Now that I’ve recovered from the VEverest I’m quite enjoying Zwift again :) Let’s hope the 3T is fixed for good very soon 🤞🏼
Been winter and freezing cold here now start warming up I’ve not rode anything ….but need to ride my bike
I personally am no good in the cold so I completely understand why you’d not ride. I hope it warms up a bit for you soon :)
@@amerridesbikes yes me to I rode in cold weather but snow and rain not soft rain like down pour I don’t ride
Trust me I appreciate ALL bikes and not a strict “vintage/new old stock” snob but I can’t get over the fact that quality is lacking in new bikes and it costs like 3-4x as much for the same part replacement where back in the day it was no big deal. Hopefully that gets fixed and I agree with you there’s times where yea I know upgrades happen but I do like buying bikes if their new to not change that much on it at all because if I did HAVE to upgrade almost everything, I might as well just build it myself!
Exactly 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 My £1500 cannondale with ‘basic” 105 bought in 2016 hasn’t been as annoying as this, it just … works!! Absolute sh!t show, bikes just aren’t what they used to be are they
@@amerridesbikes yes but it’s a Cannondale and not Italian 😂❤
if your getting bearings replaced its always worth getting a top brand fitted something like NTN there's a lot of crap sealed bearings on the market and the difference in price between a crap bearing and a good one is usually only a couple of pounds.
Having replaced every bearing on this bike within a few months of owning it I agree Dave. Would’ve been nice if some reasonable quality ones were used by the manufacturers though eh 🤑
Had this same sort of issue with a big brand manufacturer that had bespoke rear hub and parts. Exactly the same issue with the chain coming off, seizing freehub issues etc. Sadly, some manufacturers sell their bike with nice components and then raid the parts bin for their own brand wheels. Ended up getting a decent set of wheels built for me by my LBS.
Good luck at the weekend, hope to catch up with you.
Urgh that sounds truly frustrating too Ash. I’m hoping the 3T peace offering will sort the problem very soon … I forgot you were coming this weekend, hope to see you there 😀
Good to have another video of yours to watch. If I had spent that much money on a bike that didn't work I'd be fuming. As others have said I'd be taking it back as it isn't fit for purpose. I thought I was spending a lot when I paid 1K for my Cube cyclo-cross bike 3 years ago that has been pretty much faultless. Hope you get it sorted.
Thanks Stu. Cheaper bikes just do seem to be more reliable don’t they?! I am moderately livid, not gonna lie! I think their peace offering may sort it, watch this space … 🤞🏼
Amy, if you paid for your 3T partly or fully by credit card, let the card company know and they will pursue your complaint with the supplier. Look forward to seeing your BOTB video on your CX bike!
No Twas not a credit card purchase unfortunately. I’m hoping the issue is now sorted … 3T did make it to BotB though if you wanted to watch it’s just gone up 😀🤘🏼
I’ve got a 10 year old Merida cyclocross bike which goes through all the seasons no problems at all. Hope you get sorted you should get a job testing bikes 😂🚴🏽♀️👍
Haha older bikes are just more robust aren’t they!! My 7 year old cheapish cannondale synapse with 105 has never let me down 💪🏼 I don’t think anyone would trust me with their bikes now I’m cursed 🙈
i reckon if MVDP can manage his CX races on that bike you would smash battle on the beach on it, hope you do the race and enjoy it
Thanks Jowen, a good point well made! I did race it there last year but wished I had bigger tyres and bigger gears! It’s not a cyclocross race it’s fast and flat 🚀 Hoping I’ve sorted the 3T 🤞🏼
Total shame that a freespool hub is causing so many problems. I hope you do well in your beach race! Take care.
Thank you Michael, I hope I get to go it’s a good race. Hoping a 3T fix is incoming … 🤞🏼
The trails and tribulations of 3T, hope all goes well for battle on the beach🤞👍
Thanks Kev, it was mega! Borrowed wheels for the win. Even tried to make a video of it …
@@amerridesbikes glad you had a good day👏👍
I guess you’ve already considered using the wheelset from the cross bike on the 3T & switching the cassette? Are they incompatible groupsets though?
I just want my brand new bike to work Pete 😭 Don’t really want to be butchering one bike to prop up another. And one is SRAM the other Shimano plus I can’t run tubeless on the cx bike rear any more because I bent the rim … 😬
The 3T issue sounds like an issue for Hambini
I don’t know who that is but are they magic?!
@@amerridesbikes Well he's an aerospace engineer on youtube who roasts bike companies utilising poor manufacturing techniques and eqpt on expensive bikes (People send him their bikes to look at). He has a youtube channel and he's developed his own bottom bracket. He is pretty clever :D
I've got two e bikes worth 4-5 grand each and both have cheap shimano hubs, not impressed but working in a bike shop for 12 years it seems be becoming common place now that bike brands cheap out on bearings be it hubs, bb or headset. Was working on £650 bike today and was shocked by the appalling spec of it, i love bikes but the industry seems to be going down the pan in many ways!
Rambling over, hope you get your 3t sorted soon!
Thank you Ben you’ve just validated everything all my other mechanic friends have said 🙌🏼 Shit isn’t it, especially if you’re paying top dollar for a bike, at the least it should work smoothly for a bit. I appreciate your ramblings! 3T are sending me some replacement wheels 🤫 See how that goes …
@@amerridesbikes i'm well known at work and by my friends for my rambling rants about the industry, glad 3t are sorting you out, i have a 3t strada myself so i tend to be a little bit biased...!😂
your Great . Love your videos .
Thank you Rob, you’re too kind 😊
So gutted for you having to fanny about so much to get your bike working. I had tonnes of issues back in early lockdown. Needed to replace my back wheel within months of purchasing my bike, and had loads of niggles afterwards. Thankfully I got sorted when I stopped going to Halfords!
With your GoPro footage, could you upload it to your phone and edit in iMovie? I do that with my GoPro as I’m still battling the lack of patience with learning to use Final Cut Pro on the Mac.
All the best for the weekend though. Sounds less than ideal, but if you can get to the start line, I’m sure you’ll kick the arse out of it💪🏼🤘🏼😊 xx
I just can’t seem to get to grips with phone editing, well done you for that! I remember you saying you’d also had major issues. Let’s hope we’re sorted and good to go all round very soon 🤞🏼 Three cheers for the weekend, whatever happens! X
@@amerridesbikes iMovie is pretty rudimentary on phones, but so is my patience with the Mac 😂 Only used the iMac once when the footage id taken was almost totally useless due to wind noise, and I was able to rescue it in editing. But I had to do it step by step with RUclips tutorials and I just don’t have the f’kin effort for that again😂 #ADHDlife
At this point, there's something very "well of course" about your misbehaving equipment escapades - it's just built-in to the experience
Yeah everything I touch at this point isn’t it 😆🤦🏼♀️
Hi Amer great vid , surely if the event is called battle on the beach there’s only one thing you can wear 🤔 has to be a bikini 👙😆😊😀
Haha bit cold and windy for that and imagine the chafe 🙈
@@amerridesbikes I would if I had one 😂😂
Don't sell the Inflite, such an underrated bike. Love riding mine. Hope you get your 3T woes sorted, have had similar bearing issues with some wheels from a well known brand.
The inflite has done me well for over three years but it’s not quite fit for purpose now. Why do “good” brands use rubbish bearings?! Sorry to hear you an an experience too
👍👍
Thanks Dale :)
If It was me, my plan would be to trade that bike to a bike shop for something else as soon as I could afford to. As far as the race goes, Unless it's super important to you about how well you finish, go ahead and enjoy the day for what it is.
It’s a five hour drive and over £100 fuel to get to the race so it’s difficult to just pop along and enjoy it. I feel kind of invested in the 3T now so if they fix it (which may be happening v soon) I’ll have to ride it 🙈 Thanks Dave, hope you have a rad weekend :)
@@amerridesbikes I understand your feelings and thoughts on the bike. But something has changed about the race because you had those considerations before about time and fuel spent and signed up. I realize things change, I've had many course corrections myself. Hopefully it all gets sorted out the "best" for you.😀
First woooooooooo 💗💗💗
I see you Lou 👋 following me
Lou you’re always my number 1 babe 😘 xx
Not very responsible cycling with one hand
Only some of the time, most of the time was no hands ✌🏼
