Haha, the facepack comment was funny! Well done, that looked epic! Sometimes, the views are better when the weather is moody like that! thanks for the video.
Best dirty faces we’ve had in some time! Still finding dirt everywhere now haha. Yes anyone using a hand cycle is just off the scale amazing, let alone tackling an event like that 🙌🏼 Unbelievable isn’t it
Had to take my glasses off because it was impossible to see. I never, ever ride without glasses either, that’s how bad it was. As for mud guards a lot of the spray was from other people so that’s why we were all covered!
Well done Amy you are an amazing lady to take on a ride like that after all you have been through lately. Hope you're washing machine is up to the job of handling your kit. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Thanks Geraldine. Yes last year in the sun was a completely different experience! Last year good weather bad body, this year good body bad weather. One day I’ll get it right hopefully!
That looked amazing and so quintessentially British!! Next time I am over there I must time it to coincide with either Grinduro or this one or Battle on the Beach. Keep the wonderful videos coming!!
Haha so British 😆 those are all good events but the weather can be terrible on any given day can’t it. Our tents got destroyed in July at grinduro last year 🙈
@@amerridesbikes with half my life spent in England and half in Canada, I still think I cope better with Canada. Gotta love a little (tiny) bit of warm summer English rain though!!
You had fun, I enjoyed it, and the 3T made it 'til the end. What more could you ask for? Thanks for sharing your experiences, I think they and you are amazing.
Haha she was sat on my wheel for a bit and I think my massive tyres did that 😆 It really was fun though a bit less cold and mud would be nice next year! 🙏🏼
@Amer Rides Bikes iv got a 3t strada has issues with that too , but now it's all sweet what a beast of a bike , would love to add a race max to thw bike collection for sure
Nice to meet you today (I was the old scruffy git gurning and grimacing my way up the hill out of Ladock). Long been a fan of your channel but not posted before as far as I know. Hope you enjoyed your ride - t'was a cracking day for it!
Hi Mick I was hoping you’d comment so I could see who it was 👋🏼 It’s a decent hill that one isn’t it! Thank you so much for your support, lovely to meet you on a chance encounter. I had a great ride thanks, 46 sunny miles and found lots of stabby hills too! Should’ve made a video really but I was just enjoying the ride 😎
@@amerridesbikes Sorry it took me a few seconds to realise who you were! You made me jealous though the way you zipped up that hill 🤣 Take care, safe riding!
@@amerridesbikes yes thanks, like many we made the call soon after the first stop to stick to the 130 and enjoy it. Could probably have done 200 but would have been more of an ordeal and the fun factor would have decreased. A lot more undulating than I’d expected.
Great vid as always....doen't Ben ride a Trek? My Trek Crockett is amazingly tough (except for the damned rear derailer hangers which I suspect are made of glass so peeps have to bring them in once a year). I wondered how the 3T survuved. Thanks for posting
Thanks lovely. Yes, Ben does ride a trek (or three!). Another friend rides a Crockett and loves it too. My aeroad derailleur hanger is also made of glass, can’t even breathe in its presence 😒 3T got badly chafed by the bar bag and my front mech has upped its temperamentalness but it did ok considering thanks!
Well Barry, that would depend on what terrain you wanted to ride really. I have one of each and enjoy both for their intended purposes though I do a lot more gravel riding than mountain biking these days.
I know right 🙄 He was shouting “on your right” but what he actually meant was get out of my way I want to be on your line 😑 In all fairness he found me at the finish and apologised, which was unexpected!
Thanks Amy 🎉 absolute blast! 3 days later and finally clean!! Such a shock after 6 months in a sunny sandpit to arrive back to that!!
Such a great day in a type 2 fun kinda way wasn’t it! So glad you made it for the mud fest 😀
Oh boy! Awesome riding. Proper tough conditions. You do make me laugh- facepacks, crocheting and your lovely ramblings! 'Eating mud with your eyes!'
Thank you 😆 Just saying it how it is ya know haha
Nice work Amy, 130k of mud, rain and grey, sounds lovely. 😱
It was great thanks Andy! Much better than 200km of mud, rain and grey haha
If theres anything you can take away from your brave and brutal adventure is an amazing complexion. Well done 👏🏼
Haha thanks Tony :)
I. Love the freckles
Haha thanks! Like little brown badges of honour 😆
Well done for enduring this mudfest! 🤘🏼
Thank you Pierre 😊

Thanks Jase, it really was epic!
Dirty faces.... Love it... Its allways grim up north... Allways humbling when you see a hand biker.. Hardcore people 👌👊

Well done, and thanks for bringing us along! 👍😀
Thanks for coming along for the ride Steven!
Well done you two....an enjoyable video....
Thanks Steve 😊
Thanks for this I wasn't aware of it .I'll be using mudguards & glasses though .

Thank you Terry 😊 I think the bibs will need a double wash but it was so worth it 😃✌🏼
well done looks like you had a great time
We really did! Thanks Dave 😊
Fabulous effort both of you 🙌🏻Think hubby and I will wait and have a weekend away in the summer to ride in warmer/drier conditions
Thanks Geraldine. Yes last year in the sun was a completely different experience! Last year good weather bad body, this year good body bad weather. One day I’ll get it right hopefully!

Great video! Looked like a fab day on the bike despite the cold & rain! Champing at the bit to get up there in the summer for a week now! 😁
Thanks Ian 😊 I can’t wait to go back and explore more it’s absolutely beaut up there
Love the freckles!!!!!
Haha thanks John!
Great video. I really enjoyed the 65, chapeau to anyone who completed the 130 or 200 in those conditions 👍
Well done on doing the 65, the weather got a bit better after that at least and I think the bulk of the climbing was in the first half 💪🏼
Brilliant well done, cracking watch, shame about the mud ,take care chuck x
Haha the mud was fun though I’m still finding it everywhere days later! Might need to double wash my bibs and bike haha. Thank you Andrew :) x
Great effort!! Amazing in those conditions! Lovely here up north!!
Honestly it is SO lovely up there. Even in the character building weather 😆 10/10, will definitely return for more 😀🙌🏼
Muddy wasn't it? "Eaten loads of mud with our eyes! 🤣
Definitely some mud, possibly still in my eyes 😆🤘🏼
You had fun, I enjoyed it, and the 3T made it 'til the end. What more could you ask for? Thanks for sharing your experiences, I think they and you are amazing.
Ah thank you Charles, I enjoyed making it and you’re too kind 🙏🏼💕
Haha this looks absolutely awesome, mental fun - I can see there was mud but did Petra faceplant somewhere 😂 so good, love it!
Haha she was sat on my wheel for a bit and I think my massive tyres did that 😆 It really was fun though a bit less cold and mud would be nice next year! 🙏🏼
Well Done Amy
Thanks coach ☺️
Epic ride Amy, glad you and your bike survived the mud, well, mostly you haha
Still finding the mud now!! You’ve got a cx bike now come do it next year too 😃
Enjoyed the video 😁 thanks 👍
Thank you grant 😊 🙏🏼
Looks like you had loads of fun, nice to meet Petra. Love the face packs 😎
We had such a great time, thank you :)
Likewise, great to meet you, despite the mud and wet I thoroughly enjoyed myself
Looked pretty fun , and the mud look you and Petra had going on looked pretty cool 💪😅
We had a blast thanks yes! Still finding mid days later though haha
Looks like fun!
Thanks, it really was :)
Great video , love the exploro, tasty bike , mud make up was on point 👌
Thanks Charlie, despite all the issues I’ve had with the 3T is certainly a fun bike to ride 😊

You had fun and that's what matters most, think Ben dd quite well.
Ben did do very well! And we definitely had fun 😊 Thanks Kevin
good job, that looked filthy, kind of glad i didn't do it but also a bit gutted too.
Definitely come next year it’s a mega event. Very different to the warm weather version last year though!!
My pal just forwarded me the link...along with the comment "here's these two ladies next to us who never stopped talking at the start!"😂
Well done.
Haha how funny 😆 It’s the chat that gets you round, it’s a good distraction! Hope you guys had a good ride in the character building conditions??

Sums up the event perfectly: "we've eaten loads of mud with our eyes".
Haha thanks, genuinely munched a lotta grit with our peepers 😆🙈
The guy on the hand cycle.... guessing he did the 130 too. Words aren't enough sometimes eh!
Yes he must have done the 130. Unbelievable achievement it’s a committing route in any weather 🙌🏼 There are no words indeed
Wow , i love the video . Looks like had fun . What bike was Petra using .
Petra rides lovely titanium bikes made by Reilly Cycles and they’re LOVELY. She won some mountain bike races in UAE on that one and everything!
It’s an awesome Gravel Bike a Reilly T47 Gradient and really light and fun to ride! Feels very playful on tech tracks which I love
The colour of Petra's face 😂
I know right 🙈
I was worried about getting sun burnt! So followed Amy to ensure I had sun block!!
@@petrawiltshire6078 ha haa can't beat a muddy facial!
Top ride skills. Hope gloves turned up eventually🖐🏾
I found them in a random bibs pocket after much faff! Now I’ve lost my £70 heart rate monitor. Always something isn’t there 😆 Thanks Chas 😊
Well it is grim up north☹️
I kinda liked it though! Maybe south west isn’t best after all 😆

Your & Petra's faces pre-ride were funny and cute. Also at 3:00 your foundation may be a couple of shades too dark. 🤔😛
Bahaha I’m still finding mud now 😆
Wow that looks tough. If Petra can smile like that in those conditions what does she do in good weather?
Well she’s been winning mountain bike races on a gravel bike in UAE over winter so I’d say she’s capable of a lot! Ex pro’s are all badass eh 💪🏼
What do you recommend gravel bike or mountain biking.
Well Barry, that would depend on what terrain you wanted to ride really. I have one of each and enjoy both for their intended purposes though I do a lot more gravel riding than mountain biking these days.
🙂👍👍❤
Thanks Dale :)
The freckles suit u
Long time no vid! Hope you are well?
I did it, hi I’m back! 👋🏼😀
Hmmm one of those idiots you get on mass participation events, I try to avoid these events or go extra early if I can to avoid the masses 👍

Why oh why do they run it in April!!
Last year it was really warm and lovely! As was the day after which was particularly annoying 😆
