Hi. This is a very good tutorial, thank you! I'm the author of umodel and I'd like to point you at 2 things which you probably missed. 1. Importing a mesh with materials and textures - it is possible if you'll correctly set up texture path in importer's options. In your case you had to do a lot of hand work which could be automated. 2. Batch converter to fbx can be opened with a special button in ActorX Importer, there's no needs to go to the scripting menus in Max. Overall, the video is very cool. I've never seen so professional and descriptive tutorial before. And I liked your voice, it's much better than how I voice my videos by myself :)

But when i instaled mk 9 i remebered that i always wanted a liu kang dragon form model. Tried looking for it on-line (it was on the net for a time, but it was removed long before i found it), asked people, begged even. No, 0, Zip, Zlich, Nada. With your tutorial i was finaly able to get this model. I almost shed a tear of joy. Afther 6 years i have it! Has someone found a way to reimport edited models back? I did this: 3ds->FBX->UE4->.uasset and then repacked with u4pak. But the model's is transparent in game, like it's missing a material. If I check it with umodel I see it with a checker material, whereas the default model appear with a certain material.

I extracted Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator models and animations, and all the characters have separate animation files for the head and body for the same animation (like there's 2 animation files for the idle animation, one for the head and the other for the body). How would I merge these animations? ActorX Importer automatically overwrites the previous animation loaded when a new one is imported, so I was curious on what to do. Much appreciated!

Awesome tutorial but there are some things, that you need to do your workflow faster: 1. For the textures: there is a "material" tab in ActorX Importer - Just add a root path to your extracted content - Check "Look in subfolder" to load all of the existing textures from there 2. For the Skin: use "Always deform" checkbox in Skin modifier "Advanced Parameters Rollout" - Uncheck this - Go to the editable mesh of weapon - Select all and place geometry wherever you want. - Then check "Always Deform" back Or - Right click on the skin modifier - "Cut" - Move object whatever you want(you can do it on editable mesh level to save your mesh pivot point) - Right click on the editable mesh - "Paste" - And double click on "Always Deform"(uncheck - check) to reset offset of the geometry But in case to learn people the basics of 3d graphics it is a very good starting point to do the steps shown in the video :)
I know that you can modify and recompile unreal engine pak or upk files from different games with umodel but I never tested exactly what you said, so I'm not sure.

If you are trying to view rip files in Noesis you have to copy ninjaripper plugin first into Noesis python plugin folder. And don't forget to keep your video card drivers and DirectX updated.

So Ive followed along with the tutorial, double checked that the game I'm looking at is on the compatability list, gone to export files and every single time I hit Export it just crashes with a pop up message saying: Fatal Error : VirtualTextures are not supported. @@RDGameplays also some of the games 3d models can be viewed in viewer. for example for valorant u can do it if u override game detection and set unreal egine version to 4,24 rather than 4.23 even though the UE viewers website suggests 4.23 with which u can only view textures due to the recent patches

I've tried running it with -lzo as the FAQ suggested but it still comes with the same error. Any help?
Hi. According to Umodel author it seems that umodel only supports the first version of this game, after the game goes through any update umodel doesnt work anymore. So I suggest that you get and install an old version of the game without updating, just for using umodel. Ah, I think it's Easy Anticheat is stopping from doing it, whenever I try open it with Intruder inject, it opens with an application error saying, "The application was unable to start correctly". Whenever I try with the D3D11 wrapper nothing happens when I press the ripping key. Anything you'd suggest from here?

Following this tutorial (love it btw), i noticed that the textures were all low-res. Ive tried looking through other fourms and websites to find a way to extract the HQ textures. Dubz J.K.O All of them, it is impossible to know which one has the exact texture that you are looking for, so you have to extract everything and look for the texture desired, tfc files are usually located where the upk files are.

Hey, I've been trying to rip some models form the game Dead by Daylight to make some fan art, but whenever i try scan for content or export a model I get the error, "zlib uncompressed(3448,65536) returned -3". I've tried running it with -lzo as the FAQ suggested but it still comes with the same error. Any help?
Hi. According to Umodel author it seems that umodel only supports the first version of this game, after the game goes through any update umodel doesnt work anymore. So I suggest that you get and install an old version of the game without updating, just for using umodel. I just saw theres actually been a new post on those forms made about it today that I'll follow, but if nothing else can be done would you suggest something like Ninja Ripper instead? I've tried it before with no luck, but I'll see if I can get it to work again. Is there anything else you'd suggest?
No problem! Ninjaripper should work too, as long as the game uses either directx 9 or 11 and has no anticheat protection that could block ninjaripper.
Ah, I think it's Easy Anticheat is stopping from doing it, whenever I try open it with Intruder inject, it opens with an application error saying, "The application was unable to start correctly". Whenever I try with the D3D11 wrapper nothing happens when I press the ripping key. Anything you'd suggest from here?
Oh that error is usually caused by your antivirus or windows defender. Try to disable it and run ninjaripper again. Let me know if that works.

I have a question regarding the textures. Is there a way to extract the higher quality ones rather than the ones provided by umodel? (The 64x64 sized ones). Following this tutorial (love it btw), i noticed that the textures were all low-res. Ive tried looking through other fourms and websites to find a way to extract the HQ textures.
Any sort of help would be appreciated.

Dubz J.K.O All of them, it is impossible to know which one has the exact texture that you are looking for, so you have to extract everything and look for the texture desired, tfc files are usually located where the upk files are.

I have an error while exporting any texture from paladins using umodel
It writes "[Fatal Error] appDecompress: unknown compression flags: 514"
