If the vehicle used for testing is NOT equipped with air brakes, the license must show an "L"- no air brake equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle used for testing is equipped with air over hydraulic brakes, the license must show a "Z"-no full air brake equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle used for testing is equipped with an automatic transmission, the license must show an "E"-no manual transmission equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle combination used for testing is NOT a truck-tractor semi-trailer combination, the license must show an "O"-no tractor trailer CMV restriction.
The major changes in CDL testing are the automatic transmission restriction and the no tractor trailer restriction.
