Here is a rock legend with absolutely nothing left to prove. He's played with all the greats, played everywhere around the world and lived a hard rock star life. But yet here he is, on stage for no other reason than the shear joy of performing. And he's still very very good. What a gift.
He was overjoyed from the moment he got on stage... the first song was somebody knocking, you can can go watch it on this guys channel. He was also fingers a blazing from the get go, he was right into it and showed it if you watch the solo in I shot the sheriff, also go watch the encore (high time we went) and the start of the video just shows how everyone in the room felt at that moment
Was there Saturday and was so much better than last year at the garden. Must feel better. He didn’t go pickless all night just this song. Thanks Eric for still getting out there!
justafanintexas - what details would you like? That Clapton, in spite of recent medical concerns, played as good as he ever did? .. Or the band was rock solid? or that Clapton has always remained true to his blues roots? or that Eric had Jimmie Vaugh abd Gary Clark Jr as openers??????
Al Desimone - Well, the fact he played a new reggae version of Tears In Heaven, for the first time publicly, for openers. You failed to mention that. And that would stick out, don't you think? And spare me putting up the alleged 2017 version from MSG - Nathan East just arranged this piece this past Summer.
Ok .. I wasn't there.. are you happy now? you cna go on with your life. List .. the "reggae" arrangement was so subtle that it wasn't worth mentioning ... Oh I forgot to mention that Clapton sang White Room though Jack Bruce sang it with Cream .. oh did I mention that Clapton's rendition of Crossroads is far more serene than Cream version .. Sorry I didn't mention any of this because I was so caught up fibbing about being at the concert.. Laughable ...
I prefer the original, maybe because it is familiar, but I liked the new arrangement. He has done that with many of his songs in live concerts. It could be that he gets bored with it himself.
C J Richard - How long have you been following him? Every time he does the sit down set a couple of the old blues classics are always finger picked. Here's the opening from "Unplugged" and the rest of the show.....ruclips.net/video/0WNX_0wGBCc/видео.html
He doesn't rarely make his legs step while playn' solo part. And, I feel his solo phrases became simple a little. His nerv's trouble causes this, doesn't it?? I'm always worrying him!! I've been thinking that want to try to go to Clapton's concert once although I'm 19 years old. I'm cheering!!
Janet Corley - Because he premiered Nathan East's new, reggae arrangement of "Tears In Heaven" at both shows as re-written this past Summer by East. Well????????????
@@ericletellier9527 There's a few more out there still that I would consider living legends. Eric is definitely near the top of that list. He's been inspiring guitarists for a long long time. Him and Gilmour. Both have a wonderful sense of touch on the instrument.
Playing the rhythm guitar parts and the first part of the solo with his fingers was really good, and a little different. When he was playing quietly it was annoying hearing people shout and scream....maybe be quiet and listen. We know you paid your money but you aren't the show. Eric and the band are. Slowhand still has it, good stuff and he looks good. I hope his health has improved. God bless you Eric and thanks again for sharing your gifts with us. We are forever grateful!
I live in North Jersey and wanted to go to this do badly! I just found out too late and decent tickets were $750 and up. So jealous....thanks for at least showing me what missed! Lol
The story is told from the point of view of a narrator who admits to having killed the corrupt local sheriff, and claims to be falsely accused of having killed the deputy sheriff. The narrator also claims to have acted in self-defense when the sheriff tried to shoot him. In 2012, Bob Marley's former girlfriend Esther Anderson claimed that the lyrics, "Sheriff John Brown always hated me, For what, I don't know: Every time I plant a seed, He said kill it before it grow" are actually about Marley being very opposed to her use of birth control pills
That may be the best solo I have ever seen him play on that song. Not using a pick on a electric and popping the strings ....that is first though he is a master on acoustic with no pick. The back up signers are not good!
He hasn't been well as of recently having to had to cancel shows in LA and leave in a wheelchair. So I would say he's kicked back in! Looks pretty good and soun ds great but honestly have you ever heard a not good Clapton? I mean honestly! Terrific is a baseline for this guy!
He might look good, but I’ve got neuropathy just like he does, and believe me, he’s suffering his ass off. That chair is there because your body forces you to sit down. Or lay down. The reason he’s doing better is probably because they found something that worked on the pain well enough for him to play an hour and a half or two hours once in awhile. It’s a real gift that he can get up there. He can’t play back to back because the next day he’ll be wiped out and in bed most likely. This is the most painful thing outside of late stage cancer. We all look normal because it’s all on the inside. It’s fucking ruthless, 24/7. Tear it up, Slowhand😁
For all the people commenting on here that claim they were at the show(s), how come no mention of the reggae-influenced arrangement of Tears In Heaven or a mention of the opening acts - Gary Clark, Jr. and Jimmy Vaughan? Me thinks you weren't there.
AS I replied earlier ... if no one mentions the great opening acts, that proves we were not there? That's an absurd assumption .. Hey .. I'll scan my TIX and post it here :-)
Not important to me what you think. It was my first live Clapton concert and though Jimmie Vaughn (who was first) and Gary Clark Jr. (who was second and too loud) were good, I didn't purchase floor seats and fly from Houston to see them
@@2008alde I believe you were at the concert. Trolls will troll. Sad, really. I know how good Eric Clapton is live, because I saw him live in 2007, with Robert Cray.
Billie Coleman, yeah they were way too loud lol but he was a cool guy and it was a once in a lifetime for himself and everyone in the room that night. That being because it could very well have been his last concert in the states. I think the whole starting band pre show just built up the anticipation that much more. The room exploded when he finally took to the stage
Al Desimone - Two unique things happened at these shows and nobody has mentioned them, including you. So, it gets suspicious. Real suspicious. Never mind..................
He’s 73 fucking years old and still sounds this good? He really is God.
Damn straight!
Stay healty mr clapton im still 23 years old and being ur fan since junior high school
Good to see him in good shape! I hope now to have an opportunity to see him live!
Wow he looking so well better than last year so glad,And amazing video quality thanks please upload all you have many thanks

I was there ❤ great show ❤Forever Fan ❤
Amazing show. Would love to have the whole concert
Nathan IS “THE MAN”!!! Why is the bass player always the coolest dude in the band???
because the bass is the cooler instrument, is like a drum but with tones, so is basically where the groove is born haha
Most of the bass players are bald....🤔
This was the first concert I ever went to
Acercate al micrófono Eric!! Y haz tu trabajo, maravilloso trabajo, 😍😍😍😍
Thanks for uploading, I was there too. Eric Clapton still puts on a great show and it's nice to see parts of it again captured on video.
God broke the mold when he made Eric.
I was at this show. This was definitely a highlight, along with "White Room". Thanks so much for the upload.
Still absolutely nailing it! Really hope to see him play soon, maybe at the RaH next time he's there :)
Doyle Bramhall II. on 2nd Guitar!
yup
He looks good. Great to see him back. Thanks for the upload.
The man is a genius on that guitar. Loved the concert. Smiling a lot, Eric looked great and sounded even greater!
How did you like the new arrangement on Tears In Heaven?
I prefer the original, maybe because it is familiar, but I liked the new arrangement. He has done that with many of his songs in live concerts. It could be that he gets bored with it himself.
Billie Coleman - Eric doesn't change the arrangements on his catalog, he encourages his band to make suggestions for a change of pace.
Wow fucking amazing, he still got it!
Wow AMAZING 👏👏👏
Increible, hermoso. Te admiro mucho señor Clapton !!! : )
Great job on shooting this footage. ....awesomeness

He's going to be in Chicago when Buddy Guy clears his schedule, so he can warm-up Eric.

70歳とは思えないな〜。やっぱり若いな〜。クラプトンさんは。
What a freaking line-up. Doyle Bramhall II, Nathan East and Paul Carrack... Only the "Cream" supports Clapton ;)
Mine as well shot myself, the boredom of Clapton nowdays. Hes became Sting. Kidding, Clapton is great.
The world is a better place because he overcame his addictions.
Please bring back Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles instead of these screaming hoochies.
Amen!
I think they were instructed to sing the backup parts like the I-threes sang it on the original Bob Marley recording.
Good luck with that...
Where are Katie and Tessa now?
Tom Marvan - Both are involved in different recording projects and occasionally go on tour with headline acts as back-up singers.
