I find ironic that they made an anti-vaping commercial even a literally almost every character in the main cast has done hard drugs
Yeah but a person telling 14 year olds that smoking crack is actually fine then selling them said crack isn't an industry worth hundreds of millions and will have at least some punishment for doing so beyond maybe just declaring bankruptcy or fines in a few decades when side effects are proven. Nobody is of the impression that hard drugs are fine but vaping is sold as a solution and cure to smoking even though it has no long term studies on what it could possibly do to you.

Rick would hate vaping, it’s smoking for pathetic posers…. If you’re going to do the thing just do the thing properly…or don’t, vaping is the half hearted in between.
i thought about that too, but them doing in the show doesn't mean they're encouraging it, it's fictional and they're played as jokes.

You know that there's a lost Rick and Morty commercial series. It's called "The New Jared" and it was supposed to be for Subway, but then the Jared Fogle scandal hit and the ads were pulled before they could ever be broadcast.

I’m fairness they didn’t really make it look bad… cool sci-fi graphics, something something, toxic metals, cool cyborg robots… It’s not exactly hitting the message. I mean I guess I don’t want to vaporised into a giant robot, that’s defective, because of toxic metals. I don’t really know at this point, maybe we should go to Wendy’s for breakfast instead?

It's so good that they don't even have to cuss for these commercials, because Rick and Morty is already an adult show that can go long periods of time without it just using other jokes and types of humor. It's pre-sanitized for ads.

Maggie May Fish made a video about how that is literally the case. Turns out it's a really good way to get the government to subsidize your advertising campaigns. Video's called "Anti-Vaping Ads want you to Vape".
@@videogamer596 Exact same thing happened when tobacco companies agreed to fund anti-smoking public service announcements as part of a settlement during the whole class-action lawsuit against Phillip Morris. They basically had a golden ticket to plaster their product all over TV again, and all they had to do is basically say, in their best Mr. Mackey voice, "cigarettes are bad mmkay" at the end.
