Everybody finally winds up near Vegas at Markus' wondering how they got there. If you showed up in a pink Bizziarini tricked out with Zeiss glass for headlights and a crew of lackeys to carry your moded Alpa gear and a contract to star in the Tropic Blunder sequel, all shot in teal and orange, to a culdesac of cabanas where the garbage trucks back up beeps were composed by John Williams, and your lawn jockey is a pre paid AI Yeti, then you've arrived.

It seems like you can’t explain things anymore in front of a camera without a perfect studio setup, a black promist filter, minimum f1.8, ambient lights in the background and so on. I’m a lighting designer for TV shows and we all know that less talent needs more effects. This is basically what I see on RUclips.

One awesome thing I will always say about Markus is that he will tell you the truth. Like him or loathe him he will give it to you straight.
I can watch this channel and my blood pressure stays relatively normal. No jump cuts every two seconds, no stupid accent lighting, no talking excessively with hands, no backwards baseball caps, and no saying "smash" that like button.
I can watch a Markus video knowing my sanity will stay intact, I'll learn something, and i will hear the truth.

Hey Markus, love your humor! But I gotta say, the pocket 3 makes it possible for folks who aren't Hollywood-savvy to create some pretty darn good videos - that's what it's all about.
I know
You know, when you get your hands on any camera, there's always some tweaking to get the shot you want. With pocket 3, you can just flip that screen and start recording. That's way easier than those cameras with crazy menus. And as for registering, well, not a big deal for me, happens everywhere these days😓.
I discovered this channel on RUclips just a couple of months ago, and I have learned like in very few channels, although Markus mentions that this channel is for fun, we have a lot to learn even from his way of having fun. I am very happy and grateful to have found these videos, and I think it deserves more dissemination and recognition for the value of its content, and yes with all these videos of Markus he really shows us how to be a god of RUclips, Hollywood and whatever that we want to be!
After the night I had yesterday, this was very nice to wake up to! I actually switched to the DJI Pocket 3 after being a long time user of the Pocket 2, and so far, I love it! Even it’s auto settings look amazing for what I do in my opinion. Obviously this camera is not for everybody, but for situations like mine, where you want a small camera with really good stabilization, and does really good in low light for its size so that way you can be moderately inconspicuous with it, this thing does an amazing job!

I loved the first sarcastic-fun part so much! Anyway, for me the Osmo pocket‘s ( I am still with the V1) major benefit is to level the horizon when taking videos on the go.
And you can even get HDR 1000nits delivered from it with awesome colors.

I found a shortcut for grading D-Log M footage very fast: in FCPX software create a Wide Gamut (HDR) library, and just override clip's default color space to Rec.2020 (from the default Rec.709). The colors will look AMAZING with almost no grading. Reason is DJI created their own color space for D-LogM, which is backwards compatible with Rec.709 but really shines in Rec.2020 HDR.

I understand that what you do in production has nothing to do with the Dji.
However, it must be admitted that the Dji is a big tip at the high tech level.

Yes, the gopro has good video quality, but with the gopro 12 it failed For many factors.

I sometimes still use my very old Sony @5100 with adapted old glass (right now an uncoated FED10), shoot just full hd and it looks gorgeous :)
7:23 I needed about two years of experimenting before I got a out-of-camera look I was sort of satisfied with, which is to say that I actually gave up and instead figured out how to make the standard profile look satisfying to me using only the settings available in the standard iPhone photo app. So now I i just turn down the contrast in the camera and copy paste my favorite settings on the iphone

Those settings you showed may be a game changer and hopefully more people will take note. I have seen lots of footage made by DJI Pocket 3 with blownout faces and sky.
This video review is probably the most important single one. The base settings are the reason why. Now I don't have to take the time of trial and error for my shots.

I use the ev -0.7 and the iso 50-1600 too. The brights are blown if we don't lower the ev.

I built myself your little adaper thing and now happily run my ZV 1 mark I, now with tracking capabilities, on my Obsbot ME ... I prefer a 24 mm to 70 mm lens to the dji 20 mm lens with a 15 mm adapter. Love your videos ...

Hi Markus! Loved this video ;-). I am trying to decide between this camera and the obsbot tail air for a studio recording in front of a digital whiteboard. My concern is that I see that the quality of the obsbot compared to the pocket 3 is inferior.....at least as I have noticed watching youtube reviewers of it. What is your experience having used both cameras? What would you recommend for this use case? Thank you!
Yeah the Obsbot has a smaller sensor so yes the Pocket 3 quality is better. You can however hook multiple Obsbots into a live streaming system from different angles. I'm assuming they Obsbots also don't overheat as fast, so its a question of functionality or quality

Hilarious, and on the day I pulled the trigger on a Pocket 3! I'm a bit disappointed I now have to buy all these accessories but hopefully it'll elevate my channel from simple vlogging to cinematic masterpieces. I should be able to slip that V-mount battery into my jacket pocket, but which cage do you recommend? Smallrig don't yet make one for the Pocket 3 🤔

But one question is left to be asked: how can I sync the timecode of my Osmo with my Alexa and Venice workflow? I got the cage set up, the d-tap battery in the v-mount, a diesel generator as backup and of course a 4 channel xlr system connected. So far so good. But which converter shall I use for the timecode? And how could I possible get b-raw from the iPhone? I think I’ll open the case of the Osmo and shove some raspberry pies and an arduino in, for good measure. Than I’ll solder some 80ies video console into the loop, that seems to help always and in any situation.
Anyhow, that’s it for now, I’ll make some lengthy videos about this project. Stay tuned!

9:50 totally agree, I have not even played much with mine, took my kids out to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and I used the wide angle filter and press record and while viewing it later, most of the shot looks great except the lights in the restaurant have this weird halo/streaking type effect :(

Us budget folks are used to having to modify settings out of the box. As long as they aren't too cumbersome, I'm good with it.

The first part made me laugh out loud literally. I don’t have the thing yet but am considering it to replace my RX100VA + Zhiyun Crane m2 combi. Not to be a film maker or RUclipsr but to capture family videos. I think being able to fit it into a pocket and not having to worry about balance the gimbal is very appealing. Plus not having it overheat after 3 mins. Or the WiFi not connecting the controls. Or the RX100 screen not dimming automatically when connecting which is highly annoying not seeing what you film. Or the camera not dying after 2 years (this is my 3rd RX100 in 7 years). I think I am the audience you referred to. I will probably find things I don’t like about the DJI if I do decide to buy. Keep up the great work and content.
